October 3, 1989, in Hastings, Nebraska a terrible massacre happened. “For me, this was a day to remember”, Markus. “Others might think this would be an awful day and would never dare to do this, but I am different from the others. The day started off well, but unfortunately I did not expect the event that would happen, to happen after I was finished”. “It was a normal day with all seven of my siblings. I had four sisters, one being my twin, and three brothers. Our family was not an ordinary family. Our family was very much out of the ordinary. We were a family that had unique abilities. One ability was mind control. We were able to start fires, move objects, and even choke people with our mind. When people saw they classified us under the …show more content…
I figured this to be the perfect time to put my planning into action. I first went and got my oldest brother Elijah. I had compelled him to do what I say. I tied him up to the basketball hoop and then raised it up leaving him there to hang. If I had not compelled him first he would have been able to overpower me and kill me. I then went after my younger sister Mia. I took her into a bedroom and stabbed her with my knife. Next, was my younger brother, Carter, who is much weaker than I. I asked him to go swimming out to the lake in our backyard. When he got out far enough in the water I pulled him under and drowned him. After I was done with Carter and dried off, I went and found Ava. I took her into the living room and used my abilities to choke her to her death. Following that, I went to go look for my last siblings the youngest twins that were four years old Leah and Alex. I couldn't find them anywhere so I knew my sister Lucy had betrayed me and somehow by hiding them from me so I couldn't harm them. My first plan was to do nothing to Lucy and let her live. However, after she went against me, I was going to have to punish her. I went and found her, stabbed her, and cut a big enough gash to leave a noticeable scar. I thought this to be perfect, so every time she saw the scar she would remember that she betrayed me and that I will not hesitate to kill her like the four other
As the incident wasn’t over, there were many photographers taken photos; however, there was only one photo that was sad when everyone first saw the photo. The photo was taken by the Brown Brothers, and was remembered in the past and even today (Todd 11). They were sad that there were dead bodies on the ground. There were policemen and other people standing near the bodies of victims on the Green Street sidewalk in the photo. Most of the victims were w...
Twenty lives were lost, including two of the striker’s wives and eleven children, but only one of these lives belonged to the National Guard. With this in mind, it can be debated whether or not this event should be considered a battle or a massacre. Some have argued that, because of the striker’s retaliation, the event should be considered a battle, but because of previous abuse and the guard’s disregard for who they were firing at it and careless destruction, it should be considered a massacre.
In 1770, Captain James Cook discovered, and claimed Australia to be controlled by the control King George III of England. However by 1788, this new territory was colonized by what is known as the First Fleet, which consisted of eleven ships, and approximately 1,350 people. These colonists landed in Camp Cove, where they encountered the Cadigal natives. This was the first colony Britain set up in Australia. Soon after, the Second Fleet arrived with the necessary food and other supplies needed to survive. The majority of the Second Fleet was made up of British convicts, who among other crew, died on the ship traveling to Australia. The remaining people were able to set up a government, which was controlled completely by the British crown. The
She did it. My sister killed my father, and Abby. I wasn’t even that surprised for some reason. Probably because she had talked to me about it multiple times i just never thought she would actually do it. Lizzie told me in detail her whole plan of killing our parents. I felt like i had just been shot through the heart.

One of the darkest times in American history was the conflict with the natives. A “war” fought with lies and brute force, the eviction and genocide of Native Americans still remains one of the most controversial topics when the subject of morality comes up. Perhaps one of the most egregious events to come of this atrocity was the Sand Creek Massacre. On the morning of November 29th, 1864, under the command of Colonel John Chivington, 700 members of the Colorado Volunteer Cavalry raped, looted, and killed the members of a Cheyenne tribe (Brown 86-94). Hearing the story of Sand Creek, one of the most horrific acts in American History, begs the question: Who were the savages?
On the 29th o April, 1977 Captain Cook, commander of a British fleet, landed on the eastern shore of Australia, in an attempt to claim the land under the name of Britain. The land was to be claimed by Britain as a land where the British government could send convicts; in an attempt to ease the struggle in the over flowing prisons. Upon Cooks arrival, he was ordered to follow three rules of claiming a foreign land. They were;
Have you ever heard the term, “Don’t drink the Kool-Aid?” or “You have drank the Kool-Aid.”? Well, ”Drinking the Kool-Aid” means you have done something that others have told you to do or did yourself. This saying comes from the cult society led by Reverend Jim Jones, named Jonestown. Jonestown was a small community in the jungle of Guyana, South America. After getting word of people coming to investigate the society, Jones had committed a mass suicide by poisoning Kool-Aid and giving it to the people of Jonestown.
“I’m not a humanitarian, I’m a hell-raiser.” Mother Jones followed her own advice concerning a small town in Las Animas County. The Ludlow Massacre occurred on April 20th, 1994, in the tent town of Ludlow, Colorado, the intricate web of events that lead to the events that happened in Ludlow are a look in to the conditions that some of the minorities and immigrants had to live in, during the early twentieth century.
In Alexander Henry’s “The Massacre at Fort Michilimackinac”, he describes how the Indians massacred the soldiers and people at Fort Michilimackinac, he characterizes the Indians in the retelling differently — some as positive and some as negative. In Terry Goldie’s article “Semiotic Control: Native People in Canadian Literature”, Goldie discusses the characterization of Native people using 5 techniques: violence, sexuality, orality, mysticism, and prehistoric-ness — he discusses how these techniques are used to portray Native people in a negative light. In the paragraph where we see Wa’wa’tam for the second time (after twelve months have elapsed), his behaviour is off and he is acting odd— Henry shrugs this off are simply “the peculiarities
The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre is identified as one of the bloodiest and least discussed massacres in United States history. Tulsa was the first US city attacked by air when the white majority turned on the black minority. In a bold move to embrace a shared, painful history and promote honest dialogue, a delegation consisting of 10 Tulsans told their different perspectives and understanding of the city's past. Included in the delegation was a past elected city official, librarian, educator and historians. Descendants of the massacre referenced today's value with relation to the economic loss their families suffered. Educator, Dr. Anthony Marshall, drew the striking diagram of what the city would look like today had the victimized half of the community thrived financially
What if you were forced to kill yourself by the person that said they would put the puzzle pieces of your life back in the right spot and give it meaning? Jim Warren Jones was born May 13, 1931 in Crete, Indiana. As a child Jim Jones was considered the underdog of town even though he would fight off kids who bully other children, he would save stray pets and he would even take beggars to his own home. When Jim graduated he had a big interest in medicine and that was the start of it all.
My family consists of my mother, father, and myself. I was adopted at birth and was raised by a family member
I have three siblings along with three nephews. I have a younger sister, older sister, and one older brother. My older sister is the one that had my nephews. We all lived under the same roof until I moved out for college. My mother was more like my father in the house because my father was away working for us, and even though my siblings are her children, it seems that they 're her siblings too. It felt that I was the parent of my nephews and little sister because of the way I had to care for them because everyone else was working. I connect with my immediate family firmly. We always look out for each other because we mean so much to one another. I
Additionally, building this strong brother-to-sister relationship of trust with my own sisters, leads my focus on the members of my family, who has influenced my character more fully than anyone else. My Dad especially is probably my greatest example of all times whose character and integrity really touched me in various ways I could ever imagine. I really admired the way he led our family with great wisdom and counsel which helped me in my hard and difficult times. I only got to spend nineteen years of my life time with him due to his passing away while I was on my mission.
