Learning is a vast processes and this starts from the time when we first open our eyes to see the world. Later complicacy starts as we grow up and learning forms a particular path to tackle this complicacy. This process is formed by the human being and human being only followed this path and he is still following. Learning is basically knowing something that is not known before or rather doing something which is not done before. It could be learning through teaching or experience. Thus learning is combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. When they put theoretical knowledge to practical use and is able to get some result out of the same. Learning has got various purposes, knowing the difference between different learning stages, evaluating ones strengths and weaknesses, develop action plans. Learning styles lead to self development. Self-development is basically personal development. It is about improving personal knowledge, skills and performance. And personal development is only possible if someone completes the learning cycle. The supervised work experience was for the students to experience their theoretical knowledge into practical work. This training has also helped me in knowing my strengths and weakness. SWE is very important for any hospitality management student as it helps them to learn better and more about the Hospitality Industry. In this essay I will show the different learning styles and also how I have developed myself during my training at the Marriott Dalmahoy, Scotland.
Learning process have got four styles, they are:

...proach realistically. I also judge myself as a pragmatist because I start working on new ideas to see how to apply them in practice. I tend to avoid theoretical practices, and jump into analysis of new and practical work.
To conclude I would say that after writing this essay I have come to know my strengths and weakness. I have also come to know that I am an in born pragmatist. And being a pragmatist my strengths are get interested in technical oriented practical and realistic ideas and getting straight to the point. My weaknesses are not getting interested in theory and preferred more people oriented than task oriented. After going through all the other styles of learning I have found that to be a perfect hotelier and be successful it is very important to have a balanced approach in imbibing different styles of learning in different situation.
As the dull scent of chalk dust mixes imperceptably with the drone of the teacher's monotone, I doodle in my tablet to stay awake. I notice vaguely that, despite my best efforts in the shower this morning after practice, I still smell like chlorine. I sigh and wonder why the school's administration requires the students to take a class that, if it were on the Internet, would delight Mirsky (creator of Mirsky's Worst of the Web), as yet another addition to his list of worthless sites. Still, there was hope that I would learn something that would make today's first class more than just forty-five wasted minutes... It wouldn't be the first time I learned something new from the least likely place.
There is a quote, of contested origins, having no rightful owner. That quote is recited as follows: "Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” While we stand in hindsight, we often look back upon where we came and what experiences brought us to the point we are now. I think of this quote often as I reflect upon my intellectual growth. I wonder how my life might have been different had I not been told I was stupid. I sat depressed thinking of the intellectual challenges that will face Shane and how those same challenges adversely affected my will to learn. In that moment, I faced a monumental question: If we are comparable thinkers, are we compare
Can I love? Can I be loved? Am I worthy of love? I am a woman who experienced the anguish of love-loss at a very tender age and these questions capture my prime concern and fear in life. At a young age, I bore the brunt of neglect and abuse from the very caregivers who were supposed to be my protectors. At the age of 16, I was put into foster care. I have experienced tumultuous and dysfunctional intimate relationships in my search for love, connectivity and identity. Now, as a mother, I am learning to give the love I never got.
One year, I tagged along with my parents when they drove my brother and sister to Worldview Academy. Unfortunately, I forgot about the incident. That all changed, though, when I found myself enrolled at the same academy my siblings had previously attended. Since then, I have returned three times and this year served as my third and final “term”. After my enrollment, I concluded that I had discovered an anomaly, for I had never found myself more comfortable in a crowd of perfect strangers, nor so intrigued with academic subjects or experienced such an exhilarating time evangelizing as I had at the academy.
Learn it the hard way. That is the way I learned the old adage “no pain, no gain”. It was my first dirt bike race. My heart had been pounding like a drum in a high school band for three days before the race. The race was in the middle of nowhere in Tucson, Az. I arrived on a Friday, my race was on Saturday.
Activism is not where you originate from or where you are located, it’s what you do. Activism allows us to make social changes; this can occur in many different ways. It allows us to make a change in the world through political, social, economic, and sometimes even through environmental changes. It’s usually lead by individuals but the majority of the time people gather collectively through social movements. An activist is the principal of a social movement. Activist arouses particular information that impacts individuals and allow them to gather, protest, and make social changes. There are many different types of activism first we have those who “demand solutions to contemporary problems through taking the oppositional stances to mainstream
Because humans are the only beings that tell stories, storytelling has become an integral element in human genetic makeup. Stories have been told for as long as mankind learned how to speak and communicate. The practice of storytelling has been passed down through cultural milieus, ballads, parodies, poems, autobiographies, journals, parables, and tales. In fact, many of these narratives have influenced how we learned and shaped our values, morals, and beliefs. Clark & Rossiter (2008) offer that narrative learning through stories, “involves stories heard, stories told, and stories recognized” (p. 65). In light of that, this paper will begin with a brief conception of narrative learning, followed by a personal narrative story that influenced my life as an adult, what was learned from this and why, and finally the importance of narrative learning as it relates to adult learners.
Summer vacation, and school ends for about three months, and then you have as much fun as you can, then back to school… right? Well I had to go to summer school, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Everything was going fine, I had a job after summer school, and that was going fine as well. They say that summer is supposed to be fun and exciting, and it usually is for me and my family. However in July my father started coughing up blood. My father usually doesn’t make it his top priority to go to the doctors, so he waited about four weeks until he really didn’t feel good.

In Malaysia we found that some education institutes for hospitality, tourism and culinary art provided students good lecturers to teach operational concepts and knowledge but didn’t pay much attention on student’s skill development. Because of that, it is obvious that fresh graduates from those institutions are handicapped by a lack of technical skills and workplace experience. They are not able to handle when problems occur, all the new exposure will encounter reality shock when they join the industry after graduation and could make them leave the industry

The hotel industry engages in the provision of services which depend on the supply and demand of tourist numbers. The purpose of service in the hotel industry is to ensure satisfaction of guests. It is important that employees are trained in order for them to understand how to take care of the diverse needs of customers. According to Nasurdin, Ahmad & Tan (2015) training is a planned and deliberate effort of an organization to help employees’ learn the job related competencies that are needed for them to succeed in their roles. Training influences performance in two main ways. The first way is that training improves employees’ skills and abilities relevant to the tasks and responsibilities of the employees. This leads to
“My learning experience, things I can achieve, the decisions I make, the people I meet and befriend and the mistakes I make tells me who I am now and who I will become.” As a child, this was a belief that my parents taught me and, so I grew up with it and became very devoted to follow it. My parents always said to me “Learn all you can.” They also taught me that the decisions I make will help me to build my own destination, and the way I treat others will say the person I am. Until this day, I continue to believe, apply and follow that belief. Today, Hospitality Management is my number one career choice I have chosen to work for the rest of my life. In many different ways, Hospitality Management reflects my third, fourth and fifth of
Field experience was a unique experience for me, and also the most stressful. This was one of the parts of my academic career that would decide if I really wanted to be an elementary school teacher. Although I was not paired with a student who required special education, I was paired with a student who needed help. The actions I observed with this student was how she interacted with the teacher and other students.
