I think that everybody at least once in their life could not succeed at something. Sometimes it can be positive or negative, in my own experience it happened to me something similar, I could not go to college in Venezuela. Two years ago when I was graduating from high school, my dream was go to Simon Bolivar University one of the best universities of architecture in my city, I studied hard to been in college but it is really hard try to pass the test admission, unfortunately I could not pass it. After all these being in Venezuela doing nothing was not the ideal, my mom and I had a decision to come here (Orlando), we were searching many college in here, and we found Valencia, it was hard to me start because English was not the correct. I have
have failed obviously did not have what it took to make it which is, dedication, courage,
Failure is described as "lack of success". Success is defined as "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose". If failure is lack of success and success is to accomplish an aim or purpose, then I have failed a lot of times in my life. I was well-raised in a little island called Dominican Republic. I am proud to be Dominican.
Failure can cause a torrent of mixed emotions and thoughts. One can begin to doubt their motives for even attempting to succeed at a certain task. Some people may choose to give up after failure, but there are a select few who rise up to the occasion and move forward to try and succeed no matter how many tries it takes. By overcoming those difficult moments in life, it gives a person a sense of accomplishment and pride and that alone is a beautiful thing.
My journey to higher education spans 24-years and combines two passions, teaching and EMS (emergency medical services). This journey began in 1986 with a suburban kindergarten class of 25 in Memphis, TN. Eleven years later no longer am I teaching school-age children; instead, I am delivering training programs to EMS providers as well as the medical community. Today, I combine both passions to offer students authentic experiences through which to obtain proficient skills in written and oral communications, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, as well as in negotiation and conflict resolution skills as they prepare for rewarding
What I hope to gain from living and working in the United States is a lot, I hope to be more open to the world culture and people, to be more global citizen than before, to challenge myself more and be developed but the most thing that I hope to gain is the feeling that I felt in Brazil.
William Zinsser says “ a failure- and the right to fail is one of the few freedoms” ( paragraph 3 and page 93). Your failures only help you and make you strong in achieving your American Dream. Steve Smith Jr. says “ I work hard out of fear… Fear of failure… Or me, i don’t want to go back to failure. I have nothing else but to work harder than the next man”. They used their struggles to there own advantages in achieving their dream and it has made them what they are today. People will say that failures can also ruin your chances and use evidence from Yezierska ‘I felt that the America of my dreams never was and never could be.” (paragraph 96 and page 21). Yezierska could have achieved more though she constantly received offers to help her achieve more but she didn’t want to risk failing, even though she is successful she pretty successful just imagine how much happier and better her life would have been if she would have not been afraid to fail and accept those offers. Everyone has the opportunity but it is their choice to decide how much they really want to achieve and be
I was born in Chicago and lived with my parents for a while. When I was six years old my parents got divorced, I never saw my father after that. After that, we moved to Arkansas. Soon after that my mother got deported to Mexico. we had to move to Mexico now. It was tough because I only spoke English at the time. Me and sister of only four years of age were separated from our mom for over a year because they would not let my mom out of the immigration facility. That was the most painful year of my life. This made me very sad and. I still remember the day I saw my mom for the very first time after all that time. She looked so different than I had remembered her. I would live in Mexico for the next six years. When I entered middle school, I was
I’m a Latina growing up in the east side of Salinas, California. All i’ve ever wanted was support, but my cultural disapproves of the person I am today. They call me a “coconut” or “gringa” just because my Mocha colored skin doesn't match the personality of a typical female, mexican descendant.
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
One does not fully understand the feeling of success until witnessing failure. The success portrayed on television shows ideal success, and people feel that achieving this goal is very easy. Though the legitimate feeling of success isn’t truly accepted until one fails at achieving their goal and later work twice as hard to reach that target. I can say from my own experience that this is true when I failed to pass my permit. Even though I had practiced for weeks with my parents, it still wasn’t enough. When it came time for my second try, I practiced everyday for thirty minutes for two weeks and finally passed, I was overjoyed even though it wasn’t my driver’s license. This made me realize that failure helps you understand that you have to work even harder to obtain the success you desire, and makes you feel accomplished. Another example that presents this idea is how Martin Luther King Jr. struggled to complete his success. Dr. King was a leader in the African American Civil Rights ...
As a college student, who looking for building a career through higher education, decisions that I have made have had a lot of effect on my path. Decisions that mostly benefited me and sometimes had led me to tough situations and made me feel that I got burned out. This semester is going to be an example of bad decisions that I made in my entire college experience. I thought I can handle multiple courses and labs along with my working schedule. however I tried, but my plans did go as well as I expected. Although, dropping some of them, helped not to feel such a burden but it was too late. So I got behind but never gave up. Without a good spirit, I started back on. I did my best not to look back and just focused to move
Everyone in life experiences failure. It can affect people positively or negatively and that all depends on how they react to the experience. If one lets their failure overcome their dreams, it will lead them in the wrong path. But if one views their failures as a motive to succeed and grow, then they are on their way to becoming successful. For me, I let my failures in life help build onto my character and define the person I am today. My childhood injury is my example as I let this moment affect the outcome of my dreams I had then.
He went home, locked himself in his room and cried. But now he owns six MBA champions, and 5 MBA MVPs; that moment of getting cut from his high school basketball team become nothing. Walt Disney was fired from his first job because people said he is lacked of imagination and had no original idea; this man is now the creator of the biggest company on producing cartoon and children entertainment, Disney. This man failed in business twice and was defeated in eight elections. With all of his effort and never giving up when things get hard he became the tenth president of the United States; this name named is Abraham Lincoln. Those people are examples of overcoming failure and become successful. They did not let the pain of failure stop them from being successful. They keep fighting and thrive for victory. Those are examples of failure is only help people to reach their goal sooner or later. What matter is how hard you try and how bad you want to be success.
It doesn’t matter if they are failing or success, the only thing matter is how hard people are trying during the process. The value of success will worth and have respect after they walk through failure. It’s important on how people stand up after they failed, not how they failed, because everyone will fail at least one time on their life. A good example of people who fail but they stand up and learn from it is people who play sport. At first time of playing, no one will good at sport. Sometime they make a common mistake when they start play but if they learn from it, they won’t make that same mistake again during the game. To have that success they have to make mistake and fail during the practice so they can learn from it and practice to overcome their failure. But people who never fail when they play, they may make a common mistake on the
Success is something that we want to achieve. Every person has a goal that may include school or just having a dream car. Even if we are stress out or having a bad day, we never should give up because then will regret it at the end. In my life I haven’t achieve something big but something that I am proud of is being a person, living on my own, and still continue my education. Even if it is something small you should be proud of yourself. I encourage everyone not to give up but continue to whatever you want to achieve.
