There are many people and events that have influenced me and shaped me into the person I have become, from my teachers to my parish priests. The one person who has had the most impact on my life is my cross country coach, Sarah Olesky. She has taught me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it and use a little hard work. Within the two years I have know my coach, my life was changed, I was always doubting myself before I met her. I joined cross country because a friend of mine encouraged me to do so, I have never been much or a runner before, and was really unsure of what to expect.
Many things have helped to shape my identity to make me the person I am. The most influential thing that has shaped me is my culture. One of the biggest pieces of my culture that has done this is my participation in sports. Out of the sports I play, high school soccer has shaped me the most. Soccer in high school shaped my identity by making me more social, a leader, and open minded about diversity.
I am now officially in my Senior year of Cross Country , and am close to the end of my season. My first race of this year though was a big accomplishment for me, because I hadn`t been able to run. When I ran that race though it made me just so happy I was able to finish it, I was`nt happy with the time, but there is always time for improvement. I was glad to be racing again and being apart of the team again. I believe that my injuries were a barrier in my way, but they did not stop my sports career.
When the cross country season started in August I became a mentor for the new runners. I was still a runner but now I was doing my running through my peers. During each practice I would lead everyone in stretching and would follow with encouragement on my bike during runs. The freshman looked up to me as if I were an assistant coach and I knew I had done the right thing in being there every day for
An influence that made an impact throughout our historical events, and in my culture was Cesar Chavez . He is was a civil rights activist and a labor leader who fought for improving the working conditions and fair amount of pay for farm workers. He would lead marches called boycotts, and also did hunger strikes . Before he did all this he himself , with his family worked in the fields as farm workers. Cesar Chavez hardened by his experience and dedicated his life to improving the treatment with nonviolence .
There is at least one person in everyone's life that has influenced him or her remarkably. An individual is not required to be physically near you every day to make an impact upon your life. What does it mean to make an impact on someone's life? To me, making an impact means to imbue confidence in someone to drive him or her to do something. I believe that we were all created to spread and gain knowledge from each other to bring substance in our own individual lives. Eric Thomas, a phenomenal speaker, educator, author, activist, and minister has made an incredible impact in my life through his motivational speeches.
One influence on my life is people. Miss Haferman is a person who has had a very great influence on my life. She was my first grade teacher.
My next major influence was my first grade teacher. I remember most of that school year was spent on Martin Luther King Jr. That was the first time I had learned about racism, and what had happened in the past to blacks, amongst others. That school year had a great impact on me and it has changed me ever since to treat all people fairly, no matter what color, sex, intelligence level, social class, etc. This experience has taught me the meaning of democracy, and how to practice it.
The most impactful individual in my life is my mother, Samantha Jarvis, and that is because, she is the one person I know will always be there for me and guide me when I need help. Its safe to say that I would not exist without her (and my dad) and while that is physically true, I also believe that I would not the person I am today without her. My mom has always encouraged me, even from a young age, to chase my passion for learning and find the answers to my questions. She is the one, I get most of morals, ideals, and work ethic from. My mom is one of those people who give a lot and expect nothing in return. She has been the sole provider of my family for the past 18 years due to my father having a broken back and being unable to work. She also the one that does the cleaning around the house, runs errands around town, takes time off work or skips lunch to take me or my sibling to therapy or, to the doctor’s office, and just about everything else.
Everybody has that one person that opens up their world drastically, but yet there is still always one person who has a major impact. My mother, Sariah Glosenger has been apart of my life for a little over ten years now. My mother, is just like a typical mother, she is always checking out my social media, always making me clean my room before I leave the house, and to tell her wherever I am going. When I was young I always hated doing those things but now I look back and see how she was just being motherly and worried. There have been many people that have inspired me throughout my life, but my mom Sariah J. Glosenger has to be the most inspiring person because, she always nags me, furthermore her always wanting to better herself is my encouragement
When asked to identify the person who has had the most powerful influence in my life, the most obvious choice is my mom. She has been my teacher, counselor, role model, and friend for the past 17 years. For me, she has become a source of inspiration and a constant reminder of what true love really means.
As a Sophomore in high school I joined the Cross Country team for my school. I was very nervous at first because I felt intimidated by everyone there. When I made the team and practices started I focused on myself and how I could improve. After a while of doing the same routine I got bored and started to lose purpose other then being competitive with others. I felt a bit lonely after a while running by myself and being my own cheerleader. When competitions came I would focus on myself and no one else then I realized that in order to win you had to work as a team to make it to the finish line. I started giving tips to my teammates and talking to them and in return I got useful advise as well. I started noticing as I talked more to them I started to feel comfortable. I realized I found a new family of friends that were there for me as I was for them.
Influence gives you personal values. Influence comes from everyone or everything; that mean you can’t dodge it. Where this influence comes from is basely people or thing that interact with each other. Influence is important. It is how we learn in our life. Influences reflect on our personal judgment, socially or personally. Influence is always major in every single step that people take in their life. That is why our families worry about what outside or unknown influences that can bring us great hurt. This essay is about three people who have greatly influenced me. These three persons who influenced me improved my life, skills, and mood. My dad, Mike, and Jimmy are three people who have greatly influenced my life.
Every piece of me has seemed to come from an inspirational woman who has somehow graced my life. Whether for a second or for a decade, they have made imprints on my soul. To limit myself to describe the one person who has given me the most inspiration would be virtually unfeasible. I am a collage of influence and choice made by those with whom I have interacted.
There have been many influences on my life. Some have been positive and some have been negative. But, the biggest influence on my life was luckily a very positive one in the form of numerous caring, motivated, intelligent people. You may ask who these people were. They were simply my teachers, and they are the main reason for my career decision.
Influence? Why is it that the people who influence us most influence us in ways that are not easily quantified? Through her work with abused children, my mother has shown me the heroism of selfless dedication to a worthy cause. By being an upstanding individual, my playwriting teacher in middle school acted as an inspiring male role model at a time when I needed one most. By being approachable and interesting, my World History teacher in my freshman year of high school opened my eyes to the connections between a society's culture and its history and broadened my view of cultures and the world. While these influences mean much to me and have contributed greatly to my development, they came too easily to mind.
