As many material objects in my life have come and go, having left only faint and insignificant memories, one thing I still hold dear to my heart is my car. I have driven it to the darkest places I've been, and have had some of the happiest moments of my life in it. I've lived my full adult life in my 2001 Acura, when I look at it I see something different than others do. I see something very special, I see good stories and I see bad stories, and above all that, I see that it is mine. When I was just turning 17, I was surprised to come home one day to my dads new truck sitting in the driveway. He had been talking about gifting his Acura to me when the day comes for him to move on. I was beside myself with joy, knowing that I now had a car
The racecar was not the most creative or what some would call beautifully designed. But the owner and his father worked for weeks on that little wooden block to turn it into something the ten-year-old boy could be proud to race. A previous race showed what needed to be done for a car to make it in the top five. After careful designing, sanding, painting, and graphite the car was finished.
Another thing to note is that that a good car deserves a choice place in our lives. I am not advocating the need for a very expensive Car but one that would
When I was fourteen I began the search for a vehicle. I want to find an older truck or muscle car to fix up and have done by the time I got my driver’s license. So every day I would search the web for what would be the best looking, easiest to work on, and cheapest vehicle I could find. I fell in love with the look of the square body Chevy short bed trucks and it was all the things I was looking for; the hunt was on for the one for me.
really neat car that not many other people had. Than the next thing I would do
The day started off like any average day, I took a hot shower, got dressed and got prepared for the day. It wasn’t until I sat down and started eating my bowl full of cheerios with extra sugar, that I realized what was actually happening. Today would be the day I finally bought my first car, after a year of hard work and conservative economic decisions.
The automobile, in all its luxury, is a desirable expense to almost everyone who travels. Along with it comes new-found freedoms, faster means of travel, excitement, and many other beneficial qualities to one’s everyday life. There are high-end pricey cars that people of high social status and wealth can afford, and the lower-end average priced cars that the average American can afford. Its very power is one wanted by all and many use the automobile to show off its glory and the sense of entitlement it gives them. In the 1920s, the automobile had been a new invention that was advertised only to the wealthy, but as it became more popular, it also became more affordable to lower class people. The presence of mindless carelessness, recklessness,
The first thing that needs to be known about this car is that it is not my car it is my dad's car that he lets me use. If I ever refer to it as my car he looks at me and asks whose car is it. Since I can not call this car my car I figured I would give it a name. My dad's name is Christopher, he goes by Chris. Since he always reminds me that it is his car not mine my sisters and I named the car Topher, the last part of my dads name.
He really made me feel like I could be apart of something special. The night ended and I was set to leave the next morning. The 13 hour drive gave me plenty of time to talk with my parents and to go through my options on where I would end
Have you ever owned a car that it’s so old that you can’t find parts for it ? My topic is the story Catch the Moon by Judith Ortiz Cofer . Its when a bad kid find the right path to a better life . His dad is trying to teach him how to take care of the family junkyard . But the kid just see’s him making him to do chores.
It was like living a dream. He took me out to dinner, met my parents –
With every car I see I find inspiration to one day make mine different, while I have only done minor work I hope to one day build it into something even more unique. Though the car is fast I appreciate it for the experiences it has given me. The car gave me the opportunity to learn to drive stick shift and truly gave me respect for the road. Even when I have nowhere to drive to I don’t care I’ll drive anyway because the feeling of being free from everywhere that causes stress in my life is the reason why I find happiness. In my little Mitsu I’m happy relaxed, because there is always going to be another mile for me to see and
It was a cool Saturday morning in the month of July. The sun was slowly rising and the humidity in the air placed a thin layer of condensation on the windows of the RV. I was excited for the big camping weekend of the season when people from around the country came to see beautiful, glimmering firework shows to celebrate our country’s liberty. The camping ground was silent and still before I ran out the door. I was mainly joyful because I was going to be the first kid out my three siblings to drive our new golf cart.
It's the thing I will always keep near and dear to my heart. It's the thing that makes me, me.
Ever since I can remember, in our garage there was always this thing that amazed me. It was different from all the other vehicles we had or that I had been in. It was tucked up against the far wall and was being used as almost like a shelf. Finally mid-fall last year I decided to see what I could do with it. It was my dad’s 1988
A mechanical issue that stumped three mechanics sealed the deal that many of the 104 weekends would be spent on my back or hunched over the engine with my dad. Conversations about life and the world sprinkled in with learning valuable skills on how to fix almost everything under the hood now fill my mind with great memories. Time I at first thought I was wasting turned into time learning, sharing, and laughing with my dad. Every time I get into the cab, start the engine, hear the engine’s loud rumble come to life, I always think of the time well spent fixing the truck up with my dad. This truck will have a lasting effect on
