The artifact that I chose is my guitar. Originally I wanted to just choose music in general as my artifact as I also play the piano and am in choir but i finally decided on my guitar specifically because it is what really pulled me into and got me interested in music beyond just listening to it. It is what helped me develop as a musician.
My first guitar was on old first-act acoustic guitar that my mom bought me for fifty dollars. But what i really consider my artifact and what I feel particularly connected to is my acoustic electric Dean guitar. I bought this one myself at a music pawnshop in haden for $200. It's black with kind of a white outline on it. Its an acoustic electric guitar which means unlike ordinary acoustics it can be hooked

up to an amp and has a self tuner built into the guitar itself. I first started learning guitar in middle school during a quarter-long basic guitar class. The teacher I had didn't really seem to actually care to teach us about guitar and more seemed like he just got stuck teaching this class he would rather not have to teach. After this class I hadn't really learned much and wasn't really inspired to play guitar. Then came freshman year. During My first year of high school I took the intro to guitar class. This class, however basic, is what gave me the inspiration to really start learning guitar because the teacher made it engaging and held us to standards to learn and get interested into guitar. This is when i fell in love with music. This is also when i was motivated to save up some money to buy a better guitar for myself. I learned then that I have difficulty trying to learn something that i really don't care about. For me learning has to catch my attention somehow. To really learn something I have to be interested in it. I have to care. If i'm not really interested in what i am learning than it is significantly harder for me to do so. After that class i had gained enough just enough understanding of guitar that i was able to start teaching myself. From that point on I was constantly finding new things to do on my guitar. Always on youtube watching lesson to improve my skill and tutorials to learn all sorts of songs. I had a yearning to learn all i could about playing guitar. I learned more on my own teaching myself than i ever had through formal teaching. I feel as though my old first act guitar represented me as a beginning guitarist.
I was originally given the first act guitar because I was just starting out and not a lot of money wasn't going to be spent on something with no certainty i would really be passionate about it. It was just a guitar to see if that was something i wanted to do. It was just me testing the waters so to say. And at the beginning that was true. I really didn't know if it was going to be something i would really care for.
My new guitar represents me now and really my whole learning experience. it shows how far I have come as a guitarist and that i have worked so hard to accomplish what I have. It´s self-tuner represents the way i've really been able to tune into my learning style. It being an acoustic electric verses my original acoustic resembles my necessity to be ¨electrified¨ so to say about a particular subject and how I got it when I became so passionate about guitar.
My guitar has taught me a lot of things. It has taught me a lot about music and how it works and how to play but beyond that my guitar has taught me to work hard. My guitar has taught me that if i want to get better at something that it will take work and that if i keep with it there is a lot to gain from it. That hard work really pays off. My guitar has taught me the importance that I am passionate about something I am learning. Guitar has really taught me a lot about myself and the way i learn. I have become a better student because of
it.
For almost 8 years of my life, playing the cello has influenced my life in so many extraordinary ways. Choosing the cello over any instrument, was probably one of the best decisions I will have ever made, in the 5th grade. The violin was way too high, the viola was way too small, while the upright bass was way too big. I knew at that very moment that the cello was the instrument that I wanted to play. The warmth of the instruments tone, and the powerful sound that came out of the f-holes drew me in so quickly.
It is a tan, sticker covered, beat up Regal, and it actually began my collection of instruments. This guitar represents my creative values, because it was my first guitar and the first of many creative outlets that I have explored throughout my life thus far. I received it from my parents, as a birthday present, when I was in eighth grade and the first songs I learned were beginner level versions of, “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, and “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath. It has a light tan wooden face, a light brown back and a smooth, shiny gloss finish. Over the years, it has been dented and scratched, so I used a cover up technique that my cousin told me about when I first got it. The technique is to cover up the dents and scratches with stickers, lots and lots of stickers. So far there are: three stickers on the back, five around the sides, one on the head of the neck, and four on the front. Some with various meanings, and some were just what I had at the
There are so many objects that define me, but I cannot list them all. Every object, big or small has some significance to me because they hold some kind of value. But my above three important objects have the most memorable stories behind them. Every person has their own different important objects, but they all have one similarity. The one similarity is they all have deep unforgettable stories behind those objects, which makes them more important and memorable over
The electric guitar has changed our music since it was first introduced in the 1930’s. In the late 1930’s, the electric guitar was used for jazz then merged into a big band format. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, the electric guitar was one of the most important instruments in pop music. Nowadays electric guitars are used for Jazz and pop, and other genres like rock, heavy metal, blues, and country. This instrument has made a huge impact on our music since its invention in 1931. No one knows who invented the first electric guitar, but Adolph Rickenbacker was one of the most likely inventors of the electric guitar.
The modern guitar can be easily acknowledged as one of the most influential and renown instruments in the world. The guitar recognized today has been around for hundreds of years and it is still leaving a legacy in the musical world. Some early iterations of the guitar dating back as far as 1400 BC have evolved into what is known as the modern guitar through design innovation.
Identity-“Ones personal qualities.”Identiy is something only he or she can fully define. My uncle says I am affectionate, cheerful, and calm. My grandmother sees me as slim, pretty and sweet. My dad described me as perky, cheerful and happy, my mom says beautiful, gentle, and self-conscious. These adjectives describe me accurately, yet they are only abstract versions of me. Adjectives cannot begin to describe me and I aknowlege these descriptions for what they are, a condensed translation from my outward self to the world. It is impossible for anyone to understand me completely because nobody has experienced the things I have. My mother has never cherished a raggedy doll named Katie and my father never spent hours upon hours making collages and scrap books for his future children. My uncle never hid in the back of a pick-up-truck and traveled four hours to New York and my grandmother has never walked hours in the rain looking for the Queen of England. My identity is something only I can define.
Guitars are very different instruments than they once were. They have had many changes in shape, sound, style, and how they are made. Starting out as tortoise shells with a stick and some strings, they have now developed into acoustics, spread from Europe to the rest of the world, and turned out to be the crazy shaped, cool designed electric guitars of today.
The following Christmas half way through my fifth grade year, I received my first string instrument. Immediately I dropped the clarinet and fell in love with that cheap, 45 dollar, first act guitar. Everywhere I went, it followed. I was 11 at the time and that 45 dollar guitar made me feel like the hotshot of the town. Music made me happy.
helped to make me the person I am today, and I was able to look into the future
Four hundred years ago the guitar was invented. Since then, guitar has been a great innovative instrument. It serves as the heart of a song, or sound. From Jazz, and Blues, to Heavy Metal, and punk music guitar has been perhaps the biggest factor in modern music. Between acoustic guitar, and electric guitar there is a lot of history.
The cable is what connects the guitar to the amplifier. An amplifier is basically the speaker that generates the sound of the electric guitar. As you gain experience, you can upgrade all these parts on your guitar. Eventually you’ll also have the choice to add a pedal or a loop bar to add effects to your music. The loop bar and pedal are the devices that change the tone, pitch, and sound of an electric guitar. As a result, these effects create an interesting sound and increase the intensity at a concert. Even through the screaming of people, it is all these devices that allow the electric guitar play so loud. These tools are beneficial for the player in the long run because you are improving in both your equipment and ways of making music. In the end, it’s convenient to know what guitar best suits you by concentrating on other factors of the guitar as
Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to become pretty familiar with many instruments as a musician. I have been blessed to play with many different bands, as well as worship teams since junior high. I have come to be incredibly confident in my abilities with most instruments I have used. In my years of experience, I have come to realize that the acoustic guitar, over the electric guitar, is my favorite. I have played many instruments but I always seem to go back to the guitar. Mostly, I have always been led back to the acoustic. I feel the acoustic has such a wider range in sound, and can not only have an upbeat sound but can be played soft as well. Whether I am leading worship or singing my kids to bed, the acoustic is always the guitar I reach for.
So as to learn how to play a guitar it is important to understand the guitar so as to understand unique qualities of each type. You will learn that from speaking to guitar enthusiasts, trainers and students few understand the different types of guitars we have and their differences. The acoustic guitar is a common type and we also have the electric guitar. These two types are good for beginners and even those who know one or two
About five hundred years ago the guitar was invented. Since then, the guitar has played a crucial role in music. It serves as the heart for song, from Jazz, to Blues, to Heavy Metal. The guitar is perhaps the most important instrument in modern music. The two types of guitar most popular today, are the acoustic and electric guitar.
Fate may change the course of life, but our enthusiasm to work hard makes us thrive or fail most of the time. When it comes to choosing an object that left an important lesson in your life, it could be a tough especially if most of them are substantial. In my life, there are numerous objects that are vital, but I have not learned much more from them than I learned from my Ethiopian High school small, rectangular and white grade report paper. The ten courses written with a blue pen were the representative of me, who I am as a student. The Italic hand written numbers along with the little sign of percentile is the trigger for me to remember about my poor grades whenever I see written numbers
