The American Dream The United State, a country where has the most diversity from different background, culture, and religions; whether if the origin is Native American, African American, Middle Eastern, Asian, or Hispanics, we share the same value, experiences, and perception that represent the meaning of “American dream”. It is the dream of social stability, giving the opportunities to achieve basic goals, and better life, according to hard work, determination and accomplishment. As a foreign student, I have seen the United State as the land of opportunity. I realize how much American dream, commonly connected with freedom, wealth, authority, success, and satisfaction. I grew up with the impression of follow the dream, yet I realize that one day I have to wake up, and face reality. Born in the poor family could be disadvantage for me in term of opportunity and education since my country is similarly to the others in Asia, parents tend to force their children to the path that already been organized. Studying more than10 hours a day seem to be daily activity for Asian student. In the society of developing the technology, lacking of labor, we have been taught to be educated so we could get a better career, though it will be no guarantee to have a better life. Because of the corrupted political and economic system, unemployed with bachelor degree’s rate tend to exponential increased. The academic cost is also the major problem that collapse a lot of children’s dream, in another hand, the United State of America; the land of dream and opportunity. I will not have to be force to become who I am not capable of, but become whom I really am.
