Losing My Dog
Roger Caras an Animal Welfare Advocate once said “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” Dogs are a man's best friend and they always have been and always will be. Losing a dog can suck and be heart breaking to many dog owners and if they don't find their dog then it really sucks. If you own a dog or just get a new dog it becomes part of you and part of your life. Dogs are an essential part of mankind. They are a man’s best friend, a loyal companion, and a fun and comforting play mate.
It was a nice and beautiful day around one or two o’clock. I was at my house with my older brother playing basketball outside. I let my dog out with me while I was playing basketball. My brother was inside just chilling

in his room. I had just got done about 30 minutes later and about to go inside, but I had just remembered my dog was still outside. I walked out to my driveway and looked around, but my dog was not there. I looked and looked around my house, but I couldn't find my dog. I didn’t want to tell my brother or he might beat me up for losing the dog. I frantically yelled my dog’s name “Chico! Chico! Chico!” I looked around my house, but I did not see him and did not hear him. I went back to my garage, threw my shoes and started to walk around the neighborhood. I kept yelling his name repeatedly when I was walking around the neighborhood. I could smell the fresh crisp air and the strong scent of pine trees and I got to the end of my neighborhood and did not find my dog. leaves. A gush of cold wind blew against my face and a chill ran down my spine. I started to walk back to my house and I could hear the crunch of the leaves under my feet.
I got back to my house and stayed there for a bit thinking about where my dog could be. My brother came out from the garage and said “Hey Chase where is Chico?” My heart was beating in my chest. I just said “He’s only a little down the street.”
My brother replied, “Okay i'm going to practice, I will be back in a little.” I watched him get in his car and drive away. I got up and started to walk around the block to look for my dog. I couldn’t find him anywhere. I got done walking around the block and starting walking to my garage. I got in my house and when I was walking up the stairs my phone started to ring. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could and picked up the phone.
It was my neighbors saying that they had found my dog. I ran around the block and found their house and there was my dog sitting in their front lawn. They said that my dog was having a really good time with their dogs. I talked with them for like 2 minutes and then left with my dog Chico. I put my dog inside and said i’m not going to lose you again. So after all of this I learned from my mistakes of losing my dog. I learned that I should watch my dog a little bit better and not be careless about my dog. Also I learned that I should probably watch where my dog goes and be less careless about
him.
I was at my Grandpa’s house, letting his dog out. It was a Saturday night. My grandparents were out at a football game because they had season tickets. So I had to take care of the dog, Winston. He was a three-foot tall fox hound and he was tough as nails.
...d my sister screaming my name. I got out of the golf-cart and thanked the man and went to our little black rental car, where my dad was getting my little brother into his car seat. When we got to the car, I explained to everyone what had happened, still out of breath, and my dad said, “Wait, you were lost?” He did not even notice I was gone.
Dogs are common throughout the world, either as a domestic pet, a protector on a farm, or an assistant for hunting amongst others. Regardless of the reason for having a dog, most people have either owned one for themselves or have known somebody who has owned one at some point in their life. Despite the relative normality of having a dog in your life in one way or another, the reasons for dogs coming into existence are not common knowledge among most people. Throughout a great portion of mankind’s history, dogs have been an essential part of life. The truth is, dogs were actually created in part by man.
She fixed both of her hands so they were gripped on my window and she was trying to push it down and stick her face in it. She was mad but then said this: “Why are you trying to find this dog??” We replied to her and summed up what had happened, quickly. Her response was, “Why don’t you try to go find the owners?” We wanted to shake our heads and say to her, “What do you think we were doing?” but instead we let her talk. The last thing she said was, “Okay, girls, have a nice day and she walked away.” We were so shocked and confused at what just had happened. I sped off while I could get away. I didn’t want her to come back to the car and start something
One day my owner pulled me out of his pocket then turn me on with his thumb then said, “blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah ,then i said turn back two blocks turn to the right then your your destination will be on your right then he put me back in his pocket but he forgot to turn me off.I tried to keep my mouth shut but there were so many questions to answer the then fell asleep then i woke up to hearing to sliding glass door are we home i whispered then i heard logan stomping on floor i’m home i whispered but i didn’t hear derrick then peeped out of my owners pocket we're not home i almost yelled then the oldest boy got curious then looked at me i pretend to be off then he
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
It was a typical day, my sister and I just came back from school, when she decided to go feed the dogs. She started
I yelled at him. The dog remained calm. Now it was standing on my waist. It lowered its cute head, and sniffed my pockets. I was surprised.
Some people may say a dog is just a dog, but for me they are extremely desirable. Dogs are a person’s best friend. They make me cry, laugh, and I wish never adopted one because they do smell. Although, dogs smell, it should not be a justification to not obtain one. I mean what does not smell? I never realized how taking care of a dog could change my life; until I saw how they sleep throughout the day, they are always there to comfort me, and how they provide a responsible way of living.
“A dog is a man’s best friend” goes much deeper than the phrase might initially imply. Recently many medical journals have begun to identify with the many and varied benefits of pet ownership. Men have always relied upon animals for work, transportation, and survival. As times have changed, man has begun to appreciate a different bond with animals. Gone are the days of animals running free outside around the homestead, for now animals are allowed inside and are considered by many to be an integral part of our daily lives! Medical studies have found that animals have a much greater intelligence level than originally thought. Through proper training and experience, animals are not only household pets, but also are becoming an accepted form of medical treatment.
As a kid, I fell in love with the idea of getting a puppy for Christmas. Wrapped in a small box with a bow on top sitting under the tree just like the movies and tv shows I had seen. I can remember making a Christmas list of all the things I wanted that year, and every year the same thing that I wanted had said “puppy” with it underlined so that my mother knew which was my favorite on the list. Every year no surprise, I didn’t find a dog. I never understood why I never received one. When the kids at school talked about the few dogs they had at home made me so jealous, but I hoped that one day it would be me to have my own best friend at home.
?Check the garage,? was all my mom replied. As soon as she said this, I knew that my beloved dog was gone.
Having a dog as a pet help the owner stay connected with the social life. The owner needs to bring their pet go out for exercise, take the pet to visit the pet groomer and also having the veterinary checkups for their pet. All of these need the owner to communicate with others and involved themselves in the social activities. [1] Besides that, people can get more friends with those who having the same habit which is taking their pet go out for some exercise and activities.
Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted a dog. Never did I think that dogs would end up being by biggest fear. I was just a little kid around 6 years old when it happened. I was walking home from my friend’s house when I saw a stray dog, it was in the middle of the street blocking my way, I decided to walk past it, while I was walking it started growling at me, I hesitated but still kept trying to walk then suddenly it got up and started barking empathically towards me. I was terrified, my first initial reaction being a 6 year old kid was to scare it away, I was ignorant. I picked up a rock and threw it at the dog thinking it’ll get scared and run away. I was wrong. The dog had enough it made a whimpering noise then started barking even louder
Since animals, especially dogs, share similar emotions as people they to make great companions. Animals do show us how to love better, because their emotions are more pure than a human's. According to Mary Lou Randour, in "What Animals Can Teach Us About Spirituality", animals are spiritual companions to humans. She tells the story of a boy who, after murdering someone, receives a dog to care for as a form of therapy. The dog comforts him, and the teenager learns to love the animal over time. The boy's pet is "healing his soul" by teaching him how to love. Dogs give their masters unconditional love, never questioning the human's orders or disciplines. I thought the story of the dog appearing in the author's backyard as her dead grandfather was rather outlandish. All of Randour's examples of how animals influence our feelings were viable aside from the disappearing ghost dog.
