Everyone has gone through some type of experience that helped them learn a life lesson. The life lesson might be one that is very simple or a big life lesson that affects your life greatly. No matter the lesson learned it will always have an impact on your future. Some lessons might be don’t take things for granted, always tell the truth, cherish the good times, and many others. A life lesson that I learned a few years ago was to make the best of a bad situation. I ride horses and it takes up a lot of my time. I have been riding since second grade and have owned five horses. The one that taught me the most was my small pony, Anna. The pony I had before her was very mean and naughty, so we decided he had to go. When Anna arrived at our barn …show more content…
She still kept her qualities, but definitely didn’t show those while being ridden at home and horse shows. She would usually refuse one jump in each course, typically the same in each course. She acted as if the jumps were attacking her. It was such a struggle when you try so hard to get in a good round, but she will not do what you ask. I would go to a horse show once or twice a month, but would have one to three good rounds a month out of possibly 14. At this point I felt like just giving up and quitting, but thank goodness I did not. I remained positive through this by knowing that even though she does not always do what was asked, I tried my hardest and at this point that was all that mattered to …show more content…
After my jumping trip, I always had something to look forward to, the flat. The flat is when you walk, trot, and canter no jumping. The judged judge the horse on how fancy they move, and Anna was a very fancy mover. I always knew I would get first or second place and would not have to try as hard as I did jumping. Anna did not always refuse. There was the one show in Folsom, Louisiana where she would do amazing. One of my shows there, I left with a clean sweep. I was so thrilled and thinking about it to this day still excites me so much. Also, I have owned two more horses after her and they both have excelled at this location. Knowing that she was not always naughty mad me so happy and I am so thankful for the year and a half I spent with
On top of that, I learned a valuable lesson from the failure and the loss as well. From that day forth, the past experiences transformed me to be a hard-working and responsible person. Furthermore, I acknowledged that when something bad happens, it can prepare us for the future obstacles, so let always be optimistic and never give up on trying.
When riding a horse you don’t just sit there and do nothing, You work hard to control a 800-1000 pound animal. You have to push your horse and yourself to the greatest you can be. It is a lot of work, it is just like any other sport. You have to go ride your horse at least 4 times a week, you practice in the wind, rain, snow, when it’s hot out, and event when it is freezing cold.
Life is short and it is up to you to make the most out of it. The most important lesson that everyone should follow and apply to everyday life is “never give up”. In the novel, “A Lesson Before Dying” by Ernest J. Gaines, the important lesson can be shown in the characters Jefferson, Miss Emma and Grant Wiggins.
Riders and horses that compete prepare through a training process that aids participation skills and showmanship. Horse competitions require the people participating to have a certain level of experience and knowledge. Due to this, horse trainers put an extensive amount of time and effort into having to train their hose, prepare their horse, and participate in horse shows and events.
Never take fr granted the time spent with someone, never take for granted the people put in your llife, never take for granted the life you were given because it is not gauranteed. I learned a ton of lessons from my losing my brother but this one has had the biggest impact on me. People become bemused when I explain the whole situation, they really start thinking about everything they have taken for granted. I have to constantly remind myself to not take things for granted. I defiently took my brothers presence for granted. I tought he would always be here for me to chase around but then I lost him in a few short
As a barrel racer, I have gone to a lot of shows and rodeos with my pony. My pony was diagnosed with moon blindness, caused from a bacteria called, leptospirosis, that got into his eyes. As he starts going blind he relies more on me, especially with barrel racing because he has to watch out for the barrels so he can turn tighter and not tip them over, but he can not do that because it is very hard for him to see.
Throughout my four years in high school I have been fortunate enough to fulfill many of my aspirations and my thirst for knowledge. One goal that I would like to achieve is to become an international attorney. I have aligned my involvement in specific academic and extra-curricular activities to aid me preparing for the long road between my present situation and the day I pass the bar exam. Through my high school activities I have learned three virtues that I have deemed necessary to achieve my goal, passion, self-discipline, and perseverance.
The lessons are numerous and range from trivial to profound, but there’s one that's had the most impact on my life. Fortunately, I was born into a unconditionally loving family with good health and parents that I feel comfortable talking to under almost any circumstance. Until I got to really know my friends, I was aware that not everybody’s lives were like this but never really understood what a life without those privileges was like. But then my perspective changed when I found out that a couple of my friends have terrible relationships with their parents and suffer from depression and anxiety. Another one of my friends suffers from chronic migraines and has been hospitalized three times in the past year. All of my friends are incredible individuals, and knowing in detail of what they withstand on a daily basis has made me more empathetic to the people around me. I think we all forget sometimes that other people are people, we subconsciously go into this state of mind thinking we’re the center of the whole world. But in actuality, that is not the case; everyone else has their own unique lives and issues they’re dealing with. So what I’ve learned by knowing of my friends’ distinctive stories is just to be more cognizant of others. It's difficult to have that state of mind all the time, but in doing so I have better relationships with
Life lessons are good for people. They can help you more than they can hurt you. They really don’t hurt you, because they are like warnings for the bad stuff out in the world today. They are just little helpful hints. They are especially helpful when you are in the time of need. If a life’s lesson hurts you, you are using them in the wrong way.
These three lessons were the most significant things I’ve learned while attending school. From kindergarten rules all the way to beginning the road to finding myself. Spending more than half of my life in school I’ve dealt with failure, achievement, and everything in between. I’ve learned great life-lessons that have impacted me greatly not just for the time being, but
“The show jumping course tests a horse`s athleticism, agility and tractability while simultaneously testing a riders precision, accuracy and responsiveness” (USEF). The relationship you build up with a horse must be based on respect toward the horse, not on fear or pain. You must put all the fear behind the files in your mind to even get on a horse. The horse and you must for sure have a strong connection to jump him or her. H...

Horseback riding is not an activity most people think of, but it is a great escape for some people. Horseback riding is not just saddling up and riding, people have to have a passion for horses and riding. Some things to keep in mind when riding is balance and knowledge on how to keep the horse under control. People can be told how to ride, but each person will have to find a style that works for them. When riding a horse the concept of time, destination and worries do not exist.
No more missed opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. The lesson I have learned on this life journey is to stay on the course and finish the tasks. Live with a purpose- -the purpose to restore peace and confidence. Purpose can boost my happiness --even in the midst of challenges. And help me to focus on solution not the problem, I realize the bigger the dream the more opportunity for obstacles and challenges. I have decided to choose courage over fear. In life problems and fear are unavoidable; our greatest lessons in faith are often learned from our trials and
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
