All squeezed in the back of our red minivan with ´I Need To Know’ by Mark Anthony playing on the radio, my childhood took a halt. I was only three years old, but that rainy fall day in October would forever be remembered. It was Columbus day, so my siblings had off from school and my dad had off from work. We were all eating breakfast at the kitchen table together, as we noticed how bad the rain actually was coming down that day. ´Lucky you! Staying home to remodel the bathroom while we have to go out in this nasty rain,´ my mom said to my dad as she looked out the window. After breakfast, Mom told us to get dressed for the day and to dress warm. I decided, with help from Mom, to wear a pink jumpsuit and my polka dot rain boots to the dentist. My mom helped us put on our raincoats, then strapped us into the car. The dentist was in Ocean Township, which was about forty minutes from our house. As we approached a red light, my mom asked us which CD we wanted to listen to for the ride. Of course, all three of us requested Kidz Bop. Throughout the drive, we all sang at the top of our lungs to the top hits of 2003. A man passing by stopped and got out of his car when he saw what had just happened to try and help. He tried opening the doors, but since we were upside down, the doors would not open. The man had to open the back hatch to have us try to crawl out, even though my mom had suffered a back injury and a broken hand. The women whose house the accident had been in front of called 911, and they showed up with two ambulances. One ambulance took my mom to the hospital, the other took my brother, my sister and I.
