Even though according to Albert Einstein, it is appallingly obvious that technology has exceeded our humanity, but everything in this universe has its pros and cons, and so does technology.
My parents tell me that I "abuse" my phone. I am not saying that my parents are wrong. I agree that to a certain extent that I do get addicted to my phone, but what can I do to prevent this so called disease of the 21st century? One of the many ways that technology enhances my life is the very fact that I can just pick up a handphone and Google all my questions. Then again, young adults studying in high schools, universities and colleges use Google and many other websites the wrong way. When I am feeling blue and feel that I am of no use in this world of abundance, I just switch on one of my classics saved and drown my sorrows in the music. To me "when words fail, music speaks". I am so very lucky to be borned into my family. When I look into an album filled with pictures and memories of my grandparents during childhood, I look at where I am now and feel that this world is blessed with technology. Without technology how can we capture the memories that we have without a digital camera? So we, as human beings, should be grateful with what we
What kind of technology do you use? You probably have an iPad or a phone, and you most likely use them everyday. Now, think back to as recent as the 1900s, you would’ve been lucky if you had a telegraph. Do you think you could have lived back then? You’re likely glad you were born during this age. Social networks, like Facebook or You Tube can keep someone updated with world events and even local events. It has become part of everyday life in which people can’t live without. But what lies beneath is the evil of how addictive technology can be. The above chart demonstrates that almost 60% of students use electronics more than two hours a day. This shows us that technology can be addictive. Jonathan Mandell’s article Are gadgets, and the Internet, actually addictive, recalls a time in April 2007 when BlackBerry users could not send or receive emails for 11 hours because of a glitch in the system. Many people reported this as a natural disaster (Mandell, 2007). People are relying on technology so much, that it is becoming a major problem in our society when it becomes temporary unavailable. Being able to plan your whole day on your smart phone and lock your front door to your house at the same time contributes to society laziness and dependency on technology. On the chart picture below I surveyed fellow ECPI Students on the question does technology make us lazy and or smatter and this was the results. From this pie chart it’s clearly shown that more than half of the students at ECPI agree that technology is making people lazy. Also the ratio of yes to no is about 6:1, certainly showing that the wrong effects of technology are starting to show up in our society. Choices people make about using their
Without doubt, in one way or another most people living today have benefited from the advancement of science and technology. In developed and developing nations alike, technology has brought numerous material advantages in nearly every aspect of life. First and foremost, the use of machines, fertilizers, pesticides, and improved seeds has increased the food supply and nutrition for much of the world's population. The automobile and the airplane, along with developments in electronics, computers, and satellites, have made it possible for people to travel and to communicate with others around the world with relative ease. On a more personal level, technology has eliminated much of the drudgery and labor both at work and at home.
Internet is a big problem in our society today. Many people use internet without knowing it, even I use internet without knowing that I am using too much I consider myself as an addict because I check my Facebook at least 3 times a day and text every time while I eat too. In high school, I used to use my phone in the class because it was allowed in class and teacher didn’t mind but in college I have to tell myself to not use phone in class since it is very important to achieve my goals and get a degree.

Over the years, the generations of humans have evolved to rely more on technology. After years of being told that I am stuck on the tv screen and I need to go outside more, I decided to gather info from my family’s generations to find out what their point in life in that time period was. It will be my job to find how technology affected their purpose. The compelling question that I had asked my family was “What is your point in life.” The answers that I received from my client were barely modified just to where we could understand what the client meant and get them to relate to a purpose.

Imagine living in a world where technology didn’t exist. That iPhone you have, computer you’re reading on, or even that nice car you drive, all gone with a single blink of an eye. The world you would be living in would be nothing but an empty, dark and cold place. You would have to learn to adapt to a new way of life. That’s why today, with the incredible breakthroughs in technology, the world is becoming more and more evolved. The technology we use today, whether it is the simple things we take for granted, like a refrigerator, to the incredible medical innovations that are saving lives, all benefit us in many ways. People in today’s generation have become so adapt to technology that others, mostly people of older generations, are beginning to think that they are becoming too dependent on it, but my experience shows that although technology is relied on a lot today, it has also provided us with many benefits along the way.
Society has been impacted both negatively and positively by technology. As a result, every aspect of our lives has been influenced by technology. Hence, life is easier, yet it has taken away some of the enjoyment. For example, remember the days of less stress and more personal interaction, when there were no online messages, no emails, social media or cell phones. We have become excessively dependent on technology. As a result, we need to rely less on technology even though it has made learning fun, and business, daily tasks, work, travel, shopping, making new friends and staying in touch easier.
