Personal Narrative: How Soccer Changed My Life

There are tons of sports in the world. Hand sports, sports with a stick, some sports have a ball, others a disk. In America kids are presented with opportunities to play sports at a young age. As a child, I played soccer. I faced trials and victories in soccer and I learned lessons that will last a lifetime. I was in the third grade when I started playing soccer, at first I was unsure of the idea partially because I was homeschooled, and because I remembering that my older sister said she never really enjoyed the sport when she played it, so you can imagine what was going through my head at the age of 8, but I still tried it out with a little encouragement from my parents. befor I knew it I was on a team call dynamite and was headed to my first practices of the season with sweating palms and a queasy stomach. Once we all introduced ourselves, and started practicing I realized that almost everybody else had never played soccer before, and was on the same skill level as I was, making it easier for me to have more fun. By the end of the day I new almost everyone's name on my team, including some of the players siblings. …show more content…

I was so happy that my parents had me do soccer, and couldn't have imagined what I would have done instead, knowing that I couldn’t play basketball or volleyball because I was never good with hand coordination.
I played on several other soccer teams after dynamite, one of the teams I played for was coached by my friends dad. He a super fun coach to play for, pushing use to do our best while making it still fun to learn. I was one of the better players on that
