It was an eventful summer, or you could say a summer with one major event. July sixteenth in particular was that one day that stood out bolder than the rest. It has been over a decade since the time I started investing my summers with sports practices and games. Each year, I took it up a notch. I didn’t really know how I felt about sports. When I was younger, I continually nurtured my skills for a future I didn't even see. Much like how I used to always read. The vocabulary, grammar, and structure I gained knowledge from reading didn't seem to matter back then. Until sixth grade, I really didn’t have a spark that motivated me to do anything. I believe the exact phrase my friend Emily said was, “I will teepee your house every single night until you decide to try out for Citadel.” This Citadel travel soccer team is what gave me better sense of who I was. Have you ever been so passionate about something that it completely controls your life style? Soccer is my passion. It is everything. Freshman year planted a mindset in me that I could honestly achieve anything my mind and heart were set on doing. I earned a Sectional championship as …show more content…
First pitch I see is low outside that makes a poof of dust flutter into the air as the ball bounced. I take a step outside the box to receive my sign and step back in anxiously to get a hit. Next thing I know, the ball flies over the infield. I’m sprinting as fast as I possibly can. That bright ball came in as I slide and popped back up onto the base. I stretched out my legs. I was sore, but something was wrong. Fourth batter comes up and swings for the fence. I’m hustling and immediately when I planted my right leg onto the third white bag: it buckled. I keep on going and it popped and popped again. An instant limp started taking over my right leg. I don’t know what happened, except for the fact that I couldn't walk correctly. That innocent slide into second was my wake up
Soccer, is more than a sport and more than a hobby, soccer is life! Soccer is the king of sports all over the world. It's my childhood hobby, I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. My mother says that I've always like kicking the ball into the net. Since then soccer has always been my hobby and my lifestyle.
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
Soccer has helped me to become the person I am today. It has given me the opportunity to build relationships that I would not have made elsewhere. Playing the sport has helped me overcome my issues with anger and has made me tougher as well. I am thankful that my parents pushed me to keep playing when I was younger, because now I adore playing soccer and could not imagine
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
Soccer is my passion, I love soccer with all my heart. But, I remember when I used to suck at it. I remember the first time I went to go try out for a club team, I wanted to quit playing right after that practice. Everyone was so good at the sport and I didn’t have any experience. But, I kept trying and I got better and better. I finally went to a team that was more my level, and we’ve all grown up together as a very strong team. I’m glad I kept going with soccer, it’s such a fun sport to play. My biggest dream is to get looked at by a college and get a scholarship in soccer. But, for that to happen, I have to work really hard for my goal to play in college. My last symbol is a paint brush. I love to draw, even though I’m not the best at it I still practice to get better at it. I also love looking at art because it’s so beautiful. What I love about art is that it tells a story and you have to figure out what that story is.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
Growing up in El Salvador, soccer was a sport that significantly impacted my childhood. My cousins and uncles taught me how to play soccer, as well as various techniques that would later benefit me on the soccer field. At the age of seven I started to play for one of most well-known soccer clubs in El Salvador. Practicing twenty three hours a week was really paying off, as I could see in my medal and trophy gain. Not only did they represent my accomplishments, but they also gave joy to my teammates, community, and family because they were the people who encouraged me to give my best. Playing soccer was also a way to release stress because when my family was going through hardships, it was easier for me to let all of my negative energy on the
When I turned three, I started playing my favorite sport to this day, Soccer! I love soccer because it gives me this feeling of excitement and I just love winning with all of my friends on the field. I loved soccer and I looked forward to it every day. I met a lot of my friends in soccer and it is one of the reasons that I started to become an athletic person. Soccer is still my favorite sport and I love it. I am planning to still play soccer up to the varsity team.
Soccer has always been a part of my life since I was four years old, it has also been in my family for a very long time. My father played soccer all his life and also in college, the same thing goes for my sister she also played in college. So soccer is in my blood and because of that reason and because I have been playing since I was four years old it has taught me some very important lessons that will benefit me greatly through the rest of my life.
I focused almost all of the first seventeen years of my life on playing ball. I loved the image and friends that came with it. Soccer was the only life I knew and it gave me a sense of belonging and gratification. That life ended a couple of weeks before my senior year soccer season when I destroyed my knee. At times I wonder what my life would be like if that never happened to me, but I’m glad it did. Losing soccer pushed me to evolve in a minor hobby of mine, painting.
Did you know that most people think simplicity and consistency are the most important factors in success? Well, I am one of those people. I wanted to become better at sports, but I didn’t have a person who could get me there, until my dad stepped in. He would take me to multiple different places, never stop for anything, and push me to my limits. He decided that if I wanted to become better at sports that he would get me there, anyway possible.
Soccer is a sport that I love. I find it irresistibly better than any other sport. The first time I kicked the soccer ball was when I was five years old. From early on I knew it was the sport that I would continue on playing. Soccer is my favorite sport because I am good at it, it is a very physical sport, and I enjoy the social aspect of the game as well.
I was pulled up to varsity soccer my freshman year and by the end of the season I had earned myself a starting position on the team. I earned that position by working hard and proving myself which is one of the reasons I love playing sports. Through playing soccer I have gained work ethic and the idea that working hard pays off in the end. Without soccer I would not have learned time management and how to manage both school work and busy game and practice schedules. As a student athlete it has become essential that I be able to handle getting any work done on time regardless what time I may get home.
Soccer is my passion and I never thought that another sport could rival the overwhelming joy I felt on the field, but I was looking for a way to stay in shape for the upcoming season and decided to join my school track team. Track is one of the only activities that can rival soccer. However, if I never played soccer I would not have joined the track team. For me soccer opened many doors that play a part in my daily happiness, track is
