It’s been a couple days actually almost a month now and I haven’t done much. The boys would either do activities without including or they would be working so I decided to hang out with my mother and Susannah. My brother also recently left early for college trips with my dad, so now it’s just Conrad, Jeremiah, and me. Since Steven left, I have been included in more things. Jeremiah took me a ride in his stick shift and let me drive as well. The night my brother left, Clay Bertolet was at the beach house hanging with Conrad. Clay was obviously drunk and I think Conrad was slightly buzzed. Conrad had changed in a way that made me think he was no longer good. He was smoking and drinking a lot and always spending time in his room alone. Well
anyway back to the Clay thing, I was invited to his party and I think I am going to go. Belly, which is me, is actually going to a party! One night while Conrad was strumming his guitar, I asked him about his girlfriend Aubrey. I wish I was her, but instead I envy her. Conrad actually told me that they broke up but he started to get irritated with my questions so I stopped bothering him about it. Does that mean I might have a chance with the love of my life?
I am now very good friends with Randy. It has been a little lonely though Soda went back to school, he is mostly gone during the day and comes back home late at night. Darry is working all the time, going in and out of the house. But now i'm leaving for college and I'm going to be away from my brothers. Ever since I wrote that theme for Mr.Syme I have loved writing ever since and now i'm going to try and make a career out of it. I use mostly my past memories to help me write. A lot has happened to my brothers before and over the course of five years so I have a lot to write about. For example Darry has a new girlfriend that he sees a lot her name is Jennifer. She had blonde hair and the biggest blue eyes. I also write about the rumble, Johnny and Dally passing away and my parents. Her little sister is cute too. She reminds me of Cherry she's sweet and compassionate on the inside and tough on the outside even though Jennifer's little sister Rachel doesn't have red hair she has blonde. I miss talking to Cherry, I loved our conversations. I wish I could talk to her one last time before I leave for college.
All of this happening within the span of roughly three months. Like McCandless, I have also formed friendships with others that resulted in nearly becoming family. It wasn’t adoption, but we became so close, it was almost like I’d grown up with them all my life, and am viewed as another daughter. this was all because I had decided to strike up a conversation He wasn’t too fond of truly becoming close to others.
Before, I could even take note, it was already October. It was time for me to pack everything in my room, and say my final goodbyes to my family members. I was going to leave everything that meant a lot to me behind. Previously, before October, we picked up my dad from the airport so that he could help us load all of our belongings to the U-Haul truck. Lily, ‘my cousin’, (we aren’t related, she is just a very close friend who I consider family) was staying with use because she want to see her father, who was also living in Denver. My mom and dad, sister, uncle, cousin, and I all stayed at the house one last night. I remember that my sister said that all her friends gathered around my mom’s car to wave goodbye to her. Her closest friends got very emotional and they started to cry. Not only did the move affect me, it also affected my sister greatly. It was like someone had given her a punch in the stomach. By the next day, we had everything in the U-Haul truck, and it was time for me to leave my precious Vegas behind. We had now started the drive to
My family had moved to Oregon when I was 7 into hunter’s run apartments and we moved AGAIN when I was 9 to SW Bonnie Meadow Ln, into a fairly nice house. Now, as older children do when they have younger siblings, I didn’t get much attention, but I did have many more responsibilities. Most of which were chores or keeping an eye on my brother, John, and my sister, Mikayla. Mikayla was by all means the closest to me at the time and John was just my younger brother whom my mother adored. Our relationships, however do change but that’s
“It’s all my fault because I could have stopped him, but I didn’t and all I had to say was I love you and don’t do this one more time and he’d still be here” exclaimed Michelle on the day of her court hearing. On July 13, 2014, Conrad Roy took his own life and was encouraged to do so by Michelle Carter, his girlfriend at the time. Ms. Carter was sentenced to 15 months in jail for coercing her boyfriend via text message to kill himself. Narrative: Roy Conrad spent most of his young life in Fairhaven Massachusetts where he was born and raised.
It has been around 14 hours since I have gotten back from the Freshmen Retreat, and I happy to be able to write about the success of the trip in all parts, regarding my personal goal, what I learned about my fellow advisory peers, and realizing a bit more about myself.
Coming back to your hometown from college for summer is a blissful part of life. It was great to see all of my friends that I have not visited since Winter break. Over the last couple years I was starting to grow apart from one of my closer friends, let’s call him “Bob”. Bob already had a falling out with some of my other close friends, due to foolish reasons I will not elaborate on.
I’m the youngest out of five children in my family. The oldest child in my family, is Aubrey. She’s 21 years old. The next oldest, is my brother, Michael. He’s 19. The next ones are Emma and Jessica, 17 and 16 years old. Then there’s me, Ethan. I’m 14. Even though we’re close in age, we all have separate lives. I’ve wanted to become closer to my older brother. Everyone in our family gets along well, because we like to talk, and hang out with each-other. For example, I hang out with my sisters, and my brother a lot. I mostly just hang out with my brother. Me, my sisters, and my mother, like to drive around, playing music, and yelling the music at the top of our lungs. We like to go outside, and play with our new baby bunnies. We play LOTS of video games, and watch YouTube videos together. We started playing Tennis later on too. Me and my brother Mike, play Tennis together too. It’s harder for my brother to hang out, because he has college. He’s learning
I made it to Big Lots, where Jonathan works, and I forced him to come outside and look at my car. Then we sat and talked for a while and I bragged about how I was going to my grandma’s house to eat a good home-cooked meal, while he would be forced to eat fast food again. When I left Big Lots, I still had a little time before church let out, so I drove back to Gray to the Dollar Store for some supplies for a Spanish class project I was doing that week. Finally I pulled into my grandparents’ driveway, and I noticed the door was closed. I thought this was unusual because I knew my grandpa was home, but I had forgotten a school fundraiser form for my aunts to look at, so I turned around and drove back home to Jonesborough. While driving home my friend Rachel and her mother were behind me, they followed me all the way to my house. I thought it was some kind of joke, but when we pulled into my driveway, Rachel yelled, “Get in the car! They had to take your grandma to the hospital.”
Even though they couldn’t believe he said those things they also said “he should know he has nothing to worry about, you are always playing it safe”. I saw red. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had enough of being the good girl, tired of playing it safe. Once we got to the picnic I spotted one of the guys I met at the last party. He seemed interested in me so I asked him to help me find something to drink. One day turned into an entire weekend of drinking, hanging out with him and my friends, and roaming from one corn field to another so we wouldn’t get busted. It went against everything I believed; flirting, underage drinking, and partying. I didn’t even bother to check in with anyone, until the second
It was my first week of my freshman year in college. Normally, you want to survive the first week by going to school events and meeting new people. Being the first Saturday night of the school year my new friend and I decided to go to a party in another dorm on campus. Both of us didn’t know what to expect at a college party, so we dressed up and tried to look our best. As I put my black mascara on I knew that this would be a fun night. My friend Jessica knew one of the guys that would be at this gathering because he lived in the same town that she was from. Finally, we leave our dorms and head out to our first college party. We arrived at the party and started to play cards. As the night progressed, poker was getting a little boring and staying in that dorm room wasn’t too much fun either. Abruptly, one of the guys said we should go to a freshman dorm. Everyone grabbed their belongings and headed to central campus. As we walked to central campus many of the boys were whispering about how they were going to cause a ruckus. No one was a resident of this hall, so we had to ask someone who was outside to let us in.
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
"Heart of Darkness" is Conrad's journey to the Self/Autobiographical elements in the "Heart of Darkness"
After being together for well over a year and playing various gigs, we began to get on each others nerves. Jason was immature and always acted childish, Rob had an ego the size of Montana, and Brandon lived in Milwaukee depending on everyone else since he had no job and no ambition to get one. One night at practice, we were trying to learn a new song. I was playing around with some different effects to use on the song. Rob told me that he knew how to get the right sound. I calmly requested that he wait a minute because I wanted to try and get it myself. He insisted that he knew how to do it, so I asked him to show me and started handing him my guitar. Rob said “Well, I don’t know how to do it.
Before I left his house I asked him if he had wanted a ride to graduation, due to the fact he was in a car accident four days prior and the only vehicle he had at the moment was his motorcycle. He responded with a polite, "Nah." That's when I knew he wanted to take his bike. When I got home I quickly got ready, I ironed my cap and gown, did my make-up and hair, and made my last phone call to Andrew. I called him right before I left and asked him if he was sure he did not want a ride.
