Getting My First Puppy When I woke up this morning I thought it was just going to be an ordinary day. Boy was I wrong, what happened today will change my life forever… I walked groggily out of my room to the kitchen, as I do most Saturday mornings in the summer. Made myself some coffee, and dug through the cabinet looking for something to eat for breakfast. I eventually just decide on normal basic cereal. After finishing my breakfast, I find that my dad has left me and my sister a note on the counter. So I call my sister in the kitchen and we read it together, it basically says that we have some chores to do before we can go swimming at my uncle's house, but at the end of the note it said that if we do as we are told we will get a surprise. I try to get my chores done as fast as I can so that we can leave as soon as possible to be able to swim for the maximum amount of time. Then I put my swimsuit on and some clothes over them. …show more content…
As I'm sitting in the car waiting for my dad to get done with the groceries all I can think about is how excited I am to swim. Eventually my dad comes back to the car and we are off to my uncle's house. We jam out to some country music, as we are approaching the house I'm getting more and more excited by the second. I´ve loved to swim ever since I learned how. Nevertheless I can't stop thinking about what the surprise was that my dad hinted about on the note. So I asked him about it, but he told me that he couldn't tell me because that would ruin the surprise, I hate surprises and he knew that so he was doing to on purpose to mess with me. It worked for a second, but I wasn't going to let that ruin my mood about swimming. Shortly we pull onto their road and
have his line in the water. When I asked him what was going on, he just looked
When I walked inside the front door something didn’t seem right. The feeling of sorrow overwhelmed the house. It was so thick I could literally feel it in the air. Everyone was motionless. They were sulking;I was befuddled. The most energetic people in the world, doing absolutely nothing. I repeatedly asked them what was wrong. After an hour or so, my dad pulled me aside. He said that my Aunt Feli had passed away last night. My mind went for a loop, I was so confused. I thought that he was joking, so I replied “You’re lying, don’t mess with me like that.” and punched his shoulder softly while I chuckled. My dad quickly started tearing up and said, “There...
“That’ll do this batch, Paw.” Announced Earl as he tightened the lid on the last jug of shine for the night’s run. As he added it to the others in the back of his beat up Ford pickup, he glanced over at his sleeping dad haphazardly leaned up against an oak tree, his chest rumbling with a drunken snore. All too often, this was the way their nights played out; Earl would work the stills while Paw would drink until he passed out, leaving him to finish up for the night, but he never complained to his father; he understood what led to his Paw’s nightly search for the bottom of that mason jar. As he climbed into the back of the truck to make sure the delivery was covered and tied down, safe and secure, Earl considered how important this particular run was, the moneys raised that night would be used to pay the land taxes, thus protecting both their homes and their main income, these stills for the next year.
On February 21, my mom’s friend Julie told my family that her dog Jayden had 8 puppies. Julie knew my dad liked Pit bulls and asked if we would be interested in looking at the puppies. So my parents thought about it for a week or so because the puppies were too young to take home at that moment. When the puppies were 8 weeks old my family had decided that we would love to have one of the puppies. There were 2 puppies that looked exactly the same. We chose one of the females and brought her home over Spring Break.
Play time is officially over. We carry each tired puppy to a big box my dad had made that is full of straw and sitting in our living room. We like to keep the puppies inside at night so they do not freeze outside when it becomes cool when the sun goes down. My dad goes to retrieve Remmy and she runs into the living room and hops in the box to be with her family. My dad always brings back a dog treat from the utility room to give to Remmy because she is such a good mother to them and she can never get enough
However by that time I had lost all interest with what she was saying. Everything had become soundless because had I already started unlatching the create. All my interest was on the puppy. At first he was a little scared and didn’t want to come out. I repeatedly tried to pull him out which only helped with scaring him even more. I forgot all about my bad day and was so happy to have a puppy. All I wanted to do was play with Tucker constantly. In our house for the rest of the day all you could hear was barking and laughing. I was only five at the time and didn’t know how to play with Tucker. I just ended up hugging the little him a lot. Tucker was as small as a large mango. He could literally sit in my mother’s
It was finally time to swim. I finally came up with a plan and decided to swim in the deep side of the pool even though I didn’t know how to swim. I knew it would work but I was also scared. As I walked to the swimming pool, everyone laughed at me again for wearing a speedo. I dived into the deep side of the pool and noticed everyone was staring at me in amazement. Then I swam up and hung onto the side of the pool. Everyone was shocked and puzzled. Even the girl I liked looked surprised.
Roger Caras an Animal Welfare Advocate once said “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” Dogs are a man's best friend and they always have been and always will be. Losing a dog can suck and be heart breaking to many dog owners and if they don't find their dog then it really sucks. If you own a dog or just get a new dog it becomes part of you and part of your life. Dogs are an essential part of mankind. They are a man’s best friend, a loyal companion, and a fun and comforting play mate.
As a kid, I fell in love with the idea of getting a puppy for Christmas. Wrapped in a small box with a bow on top sitting under the tree just like the movies and tv shows I had seen. I can remember making a Christmas list of all the things I wanted that year, and every year the same thing that I wanted had said “puppy” with it underlined so that my mother knew which was my favorite on the list. Every year no surprise, I didn’t find a dog. I never understood why I never received one. When the kids at school talked about the few dogs they had at home made me so jealous, but I hoped that one day it would be me to have my own best friend at home.
I have a love for cats. Ever since I was a teenager I always wished for a cat of my own. When I moved in a three story apartment in California, the Manager of the complex said that cats were allowed in the units. I mentioned to my Aunt at the time that I was searching in the newspapers under advertisements for cats wanted. One cool breezy evening, my Aunt called me and said that a friend of her's named Judy had a cat named Katie who did not get along with her other two cats. So I agreed to meet with Judy to see if I'd love to adopt Katie.
I rember the day that i got my dog major vividly. It started out like this one of my friends was having castel fun center that day. So i had to call my mom to see if i can go go. When she picked up the phone "i said hi mom can i go to a party"she said "maybey just come home" when i came home. I said hi to my mom and i went into my room and i played video games . Then my mom starts video taping me "saying what do yo like to do" i said "i like to play video games". Her next question to me was do you want a youtube account?" I said yes then my answer was maybe and she need to think about it. All of a sudden my room door had opened and closd. When i wlaked to my door i saw my dad push the door open and he was holding a puppy. I cried and
Bam! My door swung open so hard it smacked the wall behind me. My mom stormed in my room like a little kid on christmas. Before I could even open my mouth and ask her why. She asked, “What would you think of getting a new baby brother?” I really was confused. She had told me just last week that she wasn’t able to have babies anymore. I replied, “Wait.. so does this mean that your tummy started working again?” My mom laughed and told me that we would try to adopt a baby who needed a new home. “I thought you could only adopt dogs?", I said. We had adopted my dog, Brady, for my 7th birthday just six months earlier and I always called him my brother because I wanted one so badly. She told me that sometimes mommies put their kids up for adoption so that they can have better homes. I didn’t even know that was legal! I had so many questions. I tried asking all of them but all she would say is that we would have a family discussion tonight at dinner.
WHAT IT MEANS WHEN A MAN DECIDES TO GET A PUPPY FOR THE FIRST TIME When people see a man with his dog they ignore the complicated process that goes on when a man picks a puppy for the first time. It is almost like a beautiful tale of adoption, where the right puppy is supposed to ignite this special flame in his heart. When a single man meets the right puppy it is an experience he will never forget, where he is emotional, happy and expressive.
The grass was soft and green, reserved for those who wanted to lie down or sit. A sweet aroma of flowers overflowed near by like s shinning light, but was hidden by the untrimmed bushes and wildly growing trees. Up above me was the beautiful, high noon blue sky spotted with fluffy, white clouds and airplanes flying by. I emerged into the parking lot and stopped happily as a squirrel under a tree. Hesitating to proceed anywhere further I took a few minutes to treasure the moment of silence and peace. As my girlfriend and I got out of the car to get ready for the picnic, she happened to be distracted by the water; a rhythmic ongoing resemblance of rhythm in her heart. The water was clam and beautiful in every aspect. To me she was like a wave, never stooping to catch attention or go unnoticed. Before doing anything else, we began setting up the picnic. By the time we ware done, her temptation was unbearable and was finally unable to overcome it, consequently she eagerly ran towards the water pulling me right behind her. Each step was like an imprint in my heart, a fossil that would always remain the same and special inside me forever.
When I started hanging out with Anthony I met Pancake first (her nickname is Patty or Pattycake). I was really scared of her when I first saw her because she was a big dog and all the pets we have at home are small so I wasn’t used to her size. She didn’t bark at me she just wanted to jump on me and always smell me. After awhile I would pet her more and more and then I wouldn’t mind her being all up on me. When you first look at her she looks kind of silly because her bottom teeth just stick out. I don’t know what kind of dog she is but I love the way her fur looks. Junior didn’t come along till later, Anthony’s mom bought junior from a friend and he is a smoky grey Pitbull. They got junior before they moved houses so he was still a baby. Now he is 5 months. A week ago he got out of the gate and he was lost for about two days but then we found him thankfully. Junior likes napping with Anthony’s mom, he loves eating fruit loops and he loves Pattycake. I love his fur color and how he is so tiny right now. I know he is going to get a little bigger and right now he is going through a teething stage which is cute but it has the yard tore up. Both of these dog are wonderful and I love that they are so sweet and playful. Even though they are not my dogs I still cherish
