Freshman Year I faced piles of trials in my life. I stayed consistent and busy, and I always had something on my plate. Freshman year trying to keep my grades up was one of the main struggles I had to deal with. There were different ways to deal with the situation I had and everyone has their own way of handling it. I had processes on how I would handle my work, which I call “Keys”. The keys I had in dealing with my trials are with time, patience, and prayer.
Time is one of the keys I use to deal with keeping my grades up. I had just gotten into high school and realized the work got longer and more complex. I remember certain classes where I just wish I could pass it and get out of there. I know if I would continue to have that mindset I will not really learn anything and I will not get much out of those classes. Sometimes it is even the other way around wishing that I had a second chance to get the things that I wanted to do done and out of the way. It seems like I had so much work and not

In addition, another quote that I can go off of is “Patience is key.” When dealing with tough circumstances, I often just want to give up and call it quits. When I do not have patience and I am often short tempered and just willing to give up. I know that I wanted school to be over with very bad and just get out. Sometimes I just had to stop and take a breather and remember that not everything is going to work out the first time the way I want it to. I realized that if I master patience, I can take on everything with confidence. When I am patient, it helps me to look at things in another perspective. Patience may seem easy ;however, it is easier said than done. Like I said with time, I wish the trials could just hurry up and pass by because I just wanted them to be over and done with. Since I learned to be more accepting, they do not affect me as bad now. I saw that everything is going to be fine as long as I am
Walking into Walnut Hills High School right now would have anyone thinking the just walked into the middle of a tornado. Everyone you look there are students running in and out of doors, in and out of cars, and most certainly either turning in missing assignments or retaking tests. There is only one way for you to explain all this ciaos, Senior Year, the year that all teens await with so much excitement and ambition and the year that every single hour long study dates pays off. For the class of 2021 this isn’t just their final year at Walnut Hills this is the year that friends separate and head off to their different university to follow their dreams.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”
Adversities are often given a negative connotation and view, as most consider them to be hurdles which impede progress. Nevertheless when taken in and accepted under a positive light, adversities can serve as stepping stones through which an individual can better their character. In the face of looming obstacles individuals who persevere come out of the situation as stronger, determined, and more hopeful for the future.
This quote helped me feel better and concentrate for my better future. I just want the people that read this to know everyone goes through hardships, and there is an ending to the pain and sadness you feel now. I’ve come to realize sulking won’t get me anywhere and I need to move on and become who I want to be, and this quote helped me do
Quote 3: Adversity is like a strong wind. I don’t mean just that it holds us back from places we might other wise go. It also tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that afterward we see ourselves as we really are, and not merely as we might like to be” (Golden 348)
In my experience it may seem that no matter how hard I may try to balance school, work, and family something always suffers. I simply try to remind myself that if I work hard and try to maximize my time that I should be able to accomplish all I need to do. Even if I am not successful in doing so at least I know that I tried my best to balance everything thing out. In my opinion people need to give one hundred percent of effort or else they will not be
I was told that this, my junior year, would be the easiest year of my high school career. And no, they were absolutely wrong. It was not just school and grades that I was concern about either. I had other things to worry about, things like, driving, clubs, friends and family. I however had no idea that it would be this difficult. Throughout this school year I have learned many things; like the value of sleep, whose really your friend, and that although very important, grades are not everything.
He we go. Just me and myself now. I can write whatever I want and Mrs. Wesbecher can’t read it. To this point I have wrote about a lot of fun things I have done throughout high school, but that was just the PG version. Sophomore year is when things really began to heat up. One day over at Alex’s we found the key to his parents liquor cabinet. We did exactly what 15 year old guys would do, took some sips and wow did we think we were badasses. Looking back opening the cabinet taking a few sips and locking it back up really quick was quite comical. One night during Sophomore year it was Alex, Cal, and I, Alex drank a lot and we started to walk around town (no license yet). We walked around town for a long time with Alex’s sloppy ass. After a while
There is one main life lesson that I use all the time. And it is, to never be a quitter, because being a quitter is worse than losing. Being a quitter is even worse than being a loser. Cause, who would want to be called a quitter their whole life. I would rather spend extra time trying to get it down and done, then be a quitter. Cause if you quit at one thing, most will quit every time a roadblock is in their way.
High school is meant to be the time of your life, but for most seniors just like me it can be some of the most emotional and crazy time. The things in my past make me who I am today, and the things I do now are the first footsteps into the future. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these past four years, and I still have so much learning to do. This is my high school story; the good, bad, and the ugly.
In life we all face obstacles. The troubles that we face don’t define us, how we overcome the situation is what makes us the people we are today. Throughout my life I have faced many trials and tribulations that I had to overcome with the help of my mother, ofcourse. I was smooth sailing in life until I started high school.
Working longer hours to make sure that we get more money will get us just that, but working harder and smarter will ensure a raise. Sure enough, you can procrastinate and copy from other people, but in the end you will only get a C grade, however, if you want an A, you have to work hard at it. There was a young woman who attended Kenwood Academy in Chicago. She had a 5.1 GPA and got accepted into 26 colleges, 6 Ivy league schools, and received over 8 million dollars in scholarships. So, as you can see, you have to work hard and smart to reach goals. When you work longer hours, you will run out of energy, and yes, your mind starts wandering off into space, but you have to keep going at it. Push yourself beyond limits. Your brain needs to revolve around the idea of working harder and smarter
One of the lessons I have learned from the last four years is organization. Organization is a good quality to have when it comes to school work. There will be days where you’ll shove papers into your bookbag in a hurry but it is always best to go back and organize all papers. Somedays I would lose many papers because I shoved them in my bag. This has caused me to stress over papers I could not find in order to turn in and that affected my grades. In my first year of high school it was very difficult to stay organized but I was able to complete the year organized. It wasn’t till the second half of my sophomore year that I started to lose the structure in my school work. Having good organization is not just having your supplies organized it having yourself together. Being organized will make you feel prepared for your classes and you feel like you have everything in
Learn from things but don’t let them weigh you down all the time.
“Chasing Optimism in the Face of Challenges.” This quote explains overcoming challenges you faced. Being optimistic is a great thing. The hardest thing in life is staying strong and positive when everything in your life is going wrong. Overlooking negative situations will keep your mind focused on the wonderful things about life.
