The lights began to rise and the movie premiere was over. As everyone began to exit the theater Shannon Wilson stayed behind and started looking for her clutch that she misplaced. “Shannon! Let's go! The after party begins in 15 minutes!” shouted Shannon's friend Blake Anderson. Blake was the valedictorian of her class and had early admission to Stanford her dream college. Shannon on the other hand wasn’t doing as hot. With very absent parents she spent a lot of her time partying and spending money profusely on expensive clothes. “I’m coming! I’m coming! Calm down I was looking for my new Hilde Palladino purse, but I found it so we can head out.” They began to exit the theater with their arms linked when all the sudden Chris Howard, Star …show more content…
of the Lacrosse team, stopped them in there tracks. “Ladies, ladies, I need your help. Derek went off again on a rampage and is blowing through his trust fund.” Chris Howard explained. “Chris not now we have a party to get to. Derek is no longer our problem. Last year when this happened he almost got us all arrested and I’m not gonna get a nonsense like him ruin my evening! It’s 2012 he needs to get a hold of his life and plan for his future.” Blake rambled on. “Blake not all of us have the support you do to succeed in life. I say we help him.” Shannon explained. Blake finally gave in and decided to help Derek with the rest of them. There first stop was his bank to turn of his credit cards and find out how much money he has spent so far. “I’m so sorry I can’t turn off Derek's credit cards if it’s himself spending his own money. Yet he recently bought many Kiton K-50 suit” explained the bank teller. “Thank you so much. Could you tell us where his last purchase was at?” asked Chris. “Let me see, ah, yes it was at the bar in the Plaza Hotel. Is that any use?” “Yes, thanks again. We must be on our way. Have a good day!” Shannon shouted as they were heading towards the exit. Blake hailed a taxi and they all crowded in. “768 5th Ave!” Blake said to the driver. “So what’s the game plan? Should we just try to talk to him? What do we do?” Blake mumbled to the other two. “I say we talk to him. Especially you Shannon you have this kind of force on him. He just listens to you. We should talk about how were his family and how he is never alone. I mean maybe we should just take him away from the pressures of New York for awhile.” Chris planned. “Let’s go on a trip together! Just the four of us! It will be away for us all to reconnect and bond again! Italy!” Shannon excitedly announced. “No way. I have early admission at Stanford pretty soon and I must do all i can possibly do to succeed.” Blake complained “Oh come on Blake. This is basically your last chance to be a teenager before you grow up and leave us all behind.” Shannon argued. The taxi pulled up to the side of the hotel and before Blake could respond they were already on their feet running inside. “I’ll check the front desk. Blake and Chris go to the different bars. Text me if he’s there” planned Shannon. They all went their separate ways as soon as they were inside.
“I’ll go to The Rose Club you got the Champagne Bar. And Chris make sure you don't get anything. We're here for Derek.” lectured Blake. As Blake headed towards The Rose Club she saw an enormous line ahead and knew that the place would be packed. Derek would be impossible to find. She decided to call in a favor and went right up to the front of the line and said “I’m Blake Anderson and I’m here for Derek Kavanagh. Last year you let an underaged girl into this place and bad things happened in result. Let me in or I go to the cops” Blake threatened. With that said she was immediately let in and began her search. Blackmail was one of many of Blake's talents. After a half hour of walking around the club the migraine from all the music and strobe lights kept getting worse and worse. By the time it was 11:30pm she was still no closer to finding Derek. The next thing she knew she was stumbling all over the place and her head kept spinning and spinning. Shannon was getting tired of calling Blake over and over. By 12:06 she must of called her at least 19 times. No response. Shannon assumed that Blake's phone was off or the music was too loud. “Shannon?” called
Chris. “Yes? Chris? Have you seen or heard from Blake? I can’t seem to get ahold of her. Also did you find Derek yet?” asked Shannon. “Sorry I haven’t seen Blake anywhere and Derek is unable to be spotted. I’m getting worried.” Chris responded. “Lets meet up outside The Rose Club. They’re probably both there partying.” “Sounds great. Be there in 5.” and with that Shannon hung up the phone and ran towards the elevator. When she finally reached the club Chris was right by the entrance. With Shannon's dad being on the board of executives of the hotel, they were instantly let in. They decided to stick together to be on the safer side. The club was murky and vociferous with opulent furnishing. Shannon was still parading around in her Michael Kors twelve thousand dollar gown. She fit right into to the deluxe establishment. Chris on the other hand was still in his lacrosse uniform because he came straight from practice. They were both getting a lot of looks but for very different reasons. The first stop placed they looked was the bar. Where they found Derek! Sitting there drinking scotch, contemplating his life. All the sudden Chris look down and found Blake passed out. He immediately went down to help her while Shannon started speaking to Derek. “I’m fine. This isn’t like last time. I bought suits and stuff because my mom finally passed away. Her company is mine. I’m sorry if I caused you all to panic.” explained Derek “Oh my Derek, I’m so sorry about your mom!” Shannon exclaimed. “It’s honestly ok. I was raised by nannies and servants. She wasn’t a part of my life. But let's go on a get away! Italy?” asked Derek Blake finally got to her feet and explained what had happened to her and said she was okay. Which brought a sudden gleam of happiness to Chris. “Italy it is!” Chris cheered. They all left the Plaza that night with smiles on their faces. It was an extravagant night of running around New York and they were all bursting with energy to go on there get away. They all moved past their differences and decided to bond on the other side of the war. With locked arms, they all walked into the darkness of the 3am sky.

Solstice made the choice of drinking until wasted and consequently wound up hitting her head and going to the hospital. “Like I said, Nikki was confused when I abandoned her. Rad, on the other hand was angry.” (Blake, 12) You look at Rad and see she was always more popular, constantly taking to guys, buying the latest, “just in” lipstick and being just Radical. When you see Anna walk down the halls you can just tell people are just constantly judging her. “...and the whole world remembered that i’m socially irrelevant.” (Blake, 1) Rad in everyone’s eyes, is the stereotypical perfect high school girl. Anna on the other side with her antisocialness, not always being the ideal her, and constantly stressing herself out, makes more room for the difference between them. They start off cold, and warm up in the end, soemthing many do not take note of.
So there I was, thundering (or carefully maneuvering) my way up Route 9. After a quick stop at the local police station to re-orient myself (as I missed a left turn), I pulled into the small parking lot of the small, two-story, stucco-and-shingled building with an enormous satellite dish on it. I double-checked my questions, made sure my recorder was working, and headed in. I sat in the small waiting area as the secretary went to fetch Simon. Palms sweaty, I rubbed them on my jeans to calm myself and let out a little nervous energy.
