We have won the game we are going to the championship. As we were going out to go eat with my team for our win “Bang” a loud crack of the thunder. She was right behind me as I kicked the ball down the field. As I looked over at the scoreboard it said 0:30. There were 30 seconds left in the game. We were tied 6-6. I shoot with the help of my team I scored the winning goal. As the storm grew over night right when I was waking up “BANG” there went the thunder and lightning again. I got ready for school as my mom yelled “Hurry get in the car you need to get to school crack bang went the thunder and the lightning as I threw my new warm Blue and pink soccer sweater,my new black wool …show more content…
I went down the hall to her room. She had been waiting for an hour. I asked if she knew where she wanted to go eat for lunch. I was at lunch but I hadn’t eaten my lunch because I was so excited to got to see her. The doctor said it would be a longer wait because more people came in and were waiting for MRI results. So the doctor came back in and said she could leave and would call her mom when the results were ready so we went and ate. We ate at Frisch's. After we ate since they didn’t call yet our moms each gave us $150.00 each. So we went to the mall and bought some warm clothes. We bought like sweaters, pants, boots, jackets, even some new really cute phone cases. After that we went to Starbucks. Our sweaters were blue, pink, purple, teal, aqua, and our leather boots were black, tan, and brown. Then after that her doctor called and said that they had the results. So we got in the car and drove down to the orthopedics. When we got there we had to wait for 5 minutes until the doctor called us back to the room to see her results. She had a medium meniscus tear and would have to get
It was the first practice and Shaye had began to pitch, which is like the most important spot in softball (and catcher). She wasn't that good. We had a game and our catcher got hit with the ball and broke her ankle. Later the coach decided that he wanted me to be the catcher for Shaye. One time at practice Shaye was pitching, I was catching, Shaye told me that she wanted Taylor (the old
All I remember was all the girls on my team screaming and running towards me. Luckily, I was at the right place at the right time and headed the ball into the net. I scored the winning goal and it felt amazing. We won the championship!
Two teams are on the court racing for the ball. The gym is suffocatingly hot and, the students are flailing their arms in the air. The game is a mix of basketball and soccer. Gym class has begun. Blue and yellow jerseys fly throughout the gym with tiny sixth graders inhabiting them. The Yellow team scores and a player picks up the ball forcefully, ready to score once more . The Blue team runs across the gym back and forth like birds stuck in a cage. As the Yellow team scores the heads of the discouraged Blue team hang in disappointment. . The Perspiration is scattered on the bodies of the lively children. The Yellow team begins running for the ball and now looks like a pack of wild animals hunting their prey. They run fiercely towards their victims, each one aiding the next to achieve one goal, to kill. Wisst the sound of the whistle halts the game. Water drips from the water fountain onto the floor . The thirsty children flee the gym. Halftime
...slapshot from the point. Two minutes later the puck broke loose from one of the other team's defensman and landed on our most talented player’s stick. He is not only as fast as lightning but can also stick handle around any NHL team blindfolded. He made a quick move to the left, and then to the right. He took the shot which went top shelf on the right side. The second I saw the net move I knew we had done it. The underdog team defeated the 1st ranked team in the state championship game for Missouri high school hockey. An uproar from the mob of people could have been heard from two miles away. I couldn’t believe we had done it. We beat the odds, and took the cup. I felt shivers travel down my bruised and cut body. The hard work did pay off, for we had done it. The tears were flowing like the water dropping from the Niagara Falls. We were State Champions.
And on the first play we fumbled the ball and they recovered and they got a touchdown. We all moaned but then coach Zambardi yelled “ Let's go, pick your heads you still did a great job”, and it worked! It was the 4th quarter it was the last 12:00 minutes and the score was tied up and then the referee's ear piercing whistle blew and we were all startled! Then I heard my favorite sound, the crunching of peoples pads and helmets hitting each other. Plays and plays went by and we gained 7 yards, 9 yards, 5 yards and ect. The score was 12 to 6 and we were loosing . There was 6 seconds left in the fourth quarter and for us to win the trophy game we needed a touchdown desperately! Everyone including me thought we were going to lose the trophy game. We huddled and Zach blurted out some play like “37 crisscross”. We hustled up to the line and dug our hands in the turf. Down, ready, set, go Zach yelled. We all fired off the line like the racing dogs being released from their kennels! Zach ran back and threw an amazing pass to Donato, and amazingly he caught and sprinted to the goal line! The crowd gasped and then started cheering loudly. But before we jump to the main conclusions we still had to make the extra point. We kicked a 25 yard field goal and strikingly the ball flew through the air and went right throught the goal posts. We tore off our helmets and put them in the air. The coaches and parents were extremely happy
I woke up and got dressed for the game, I put on my shorts, gathered all my equipment, and made a game plan for the big game. I thought to myself, “I need to play the best game of my life and never quit.” I went downstairs and heard a car honking outside. I went to the door, put on my cleats, and went outside. My friend George and I got out of the car and put on our equipment, and went to start practicing. I was the goalie so of course I have the biggest responsibility on the field. I knew I had to step up and make a lot of saves.
It was a sad day nothing could make me happy anymore. I had been sad from the first moment I read the paper. I kept reading the list I must have read it at least ten times. Over and over again kept seeing the same names. None of the names were mine. I had finally realized I did not make the team. I was heartbroken all I have ever wanted just slipped out of my grasp. “It’s ok you’ll make it next year”, said my friend Warren. But what he couldn’t understand was that I wanted it to happen that year. I wanted to make the basketball team that year.
Basketball is a big part of my life, one year ago in tournament final game two of our best players were hurt and the team was relying on me. With the time winding down on the clock we were down 8 points. Somehow I got our deficit down to two points with 30 seconds left, after an intense defensive stop 10 seconds remained on the clock; our coach called a timeout. A play was drawn up for me to take the shot. Mitchell inbounded the ball to me as I came off of a screen, I had an some-what wide open shot, I took the shot, you could hear the crowd go silent as the ball left my hand and headed towards the basketball. It felt like everything was going slow motion, the ball was getting closer and closer to the hoop and I…….missed it. The buzzer sounded
When Haley came home she watched the video of me waking up from surgery while I ate. The same day was the sports banquet and it was my job to get coaches gift. Since I couldn't go Haley offered to deliver it for me. So she left while I settled down to take a nap. As I was drifting off to sleep I hear
The scariest thing that I have ever experienced was dislocating my knee during my high school basketball game. While attending Forestview High in 2013 the second game of the season, I acquired my knee injury against Highland Tech. I was very excited about the game because I worked very hard to take a senior spot and was finally getting the opportunity that I was waiting for. Everyday during practice, I gave my all, all the blood, sweat, and tears that I experienced I just knew it was my time. Tuesday, November 22 we get to Highland, warm up, and finally it's time for tip-off. The first quarter I get off to a rough start getting all the jitters out. Second quarter arrives, then I began to get the feel of the game. As I penetrated down the lane after hitting a mean crossover, I came to a jump stop
When I came inside I was so cold that I felt like a ice cube so my mom made me some hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was steaming hot! I had to wait for 8 mins, but it was worth it because it was so tasty and warm. My mom then told me that dinner was done. When I had smelt the delicious dinner mom made, my stomach had roared with hunger and I swear everyone heard it. We had a giant turkey, some mashed potatoes, and mac cheese it was the perfect family dinner, so delicious. When dinner was done, my mom said I had to lay down for school tomorrow so I leaped in my warm, cozy bed and put the covers over me and my mom said “Goodnight.” Man, today just seemed to fly by so quickly with all the excitement I had. As i drifted off to sleep all i could think about was how much fun my day was and I wish every week we had a snow
Our kicker went on to kick the extra point, as only one minute remained on the time clock. The Clark Cougars went on to beat the Williams Warriors. I could see it now on the front page of the town newspaper. "Clark demolishes Williams for the first time in 14 years!" We finally beat the best team in the world! As we celebrated, and jumped around on the soggy grass, a tear came to my eye. It was all hitting me now. I finally achieved the goal of my life! I could not control the tremendous smirk on my face. As I watched the coach from the opposing team cry in agony, I thought to myself, "That must be what they call the agony of defeat." I knew that the moment of my life I had long waited for, was gone. Only memories are left in my mind, and I cherish every single one of them.
The ball splashed through the netting and the buzzer went. The crowd erupted with joy and they picked Thompson up on their shoulders and ran out of the gym. That night Thompson was partying with his team until he received a phone call from an unknown number, he stepped outside and answered. It was a scout named Jhonny Bradmore, he told Thompson that he had watched his game from the sidelines and was quite impressed with his talents. It was then that Thompson froze in his steps, the scout offered him a full scholarship to play with the North Carolina Tar Heels!
The game had begun and my team had the ball. I watched my teammates hustle around the court and look for an open shot. Scrambling for time and an open player, the girls tried to keep the ball under control. Eventually, a point was scored and the other team brought the ball out. I can still remember cheering for my friend, after her fifteen-foot jump shot. I yelled more encouraging words to my teammates hoping that my coach would somehow notice my efforts. I sprang up out of my seat to acknowledge a great steal by another team player, and I gazed with excitement in suspense for her to score.
Next, we went down to the bleachers and watched the rest of the teams from our section. I was amazed at how good their routines were and how many people were on their’ teams. Before I knew it the awards ceremony was up. We got down from the bleachers and sat in a circle on the gym floor. Surround by about twenty other teams sitting exactly like we were. My heart was pulsing loudly, and my hands were shaking. I was super nervous. The announcer said,” In 3rd place, the team from Decorah.” Everyone cheered. Once it is quiet again he said,” In 2nd place the team from Cresco.” Then after everyone was done cheering the announcer said,” Drumroll please.” We all started a drumroll loudly on the floor. Then he said, “ In first place…” Everyone went silent from the anticipation. The gym was still. It's not going to be our team we did our best that is what matters. Then he finished “, The team from West Union!” I immediately jumped up and started hugging everyone around me. “ I can’t believe we won!” I said to the person next to
