Are you very awkward when it comes to social situations? Are you home ever so often with nothing to do? Well if so, you’re not alone in this situation. To keep myself busy, I spend a lot of time with my friends Netflix and Hulu. I know some of you will say “Oh, but I don’t know what to watch,” this is why I'm here. I’ll give you a few suggestions, with my view and perspective on why you totally should hand down watch these shows. When it comes to T.V. shows I know what I'm talking about, so you can trust me. The show you’re about to hear of is literally my life. It’s called Skins. Yeah, I know the name sounds quite disturbing, but trust the show is way more in depth, and not what you think it is about. The reason why I chose Skins first, …show more content…
I get a lot of crap for this show, well “shows”. Knowing me, well if you do know me, you probably know what show I'm about to talk about. Yes, WWE. WWE comes in a various amount of shows. We have Monday Night Raw, Smackdown Live, 205 Live, NXT, Total Divas, etc. I probably know what you’re thinking, “WWE is fake” or “Aren’t you too old?” Well for your information WWE is not all fake. Yes, a lot of it is for your entertainment, but the moves they do are real. Obviously, blows to the face (punches) are going to be staged, and so are some others, be cause they can seriously kill someone, but not all of the moves are fake. How do you fake flipping off the top rope onto someone’s stomach? Exactly, not all of it is fake. When they have feuds with people, like ongoing feuds, yes those are staged and planned for the entertainment of us which is what they’re supposed to do. It’s called WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment for a reason, so I don’t know why people are constantly trying to make it a bad thing, it’s in the name. I will always love wrestling. It’s what I'm passionate about, and it makes me happy. It entertains me, and they do all kinds of fundraisers and stuff like that to give back, and I find that so important. Therefore wrestling is my always #1 go to and if I had to rate it 1- 10 it would definitely blow the chart
Vince McMahon’s WWF is a multi-million dollar corporation and has been wildly successful in capturing the sports entertainment market. “Monday Night Raw,” the weekly soap opera on TNN, is one of the three most watched cable shows each week. In addition, the WWF has weekly wrestling shows on UPN and MTV. Personally, I am caught up in the phenomenon. I set aside my Monday evenings to watch Monday Night Football and professional wrestling. I enjoy attempting to figure out the storylines before they unfold and attempt to guess the action that may happen in the next segment.
A long time ago, back in the olden days, Bruno Sammartino was a superhero who sold out Madison Square Garden countless times. Back in those times, wrestling strictly adhered to kayfabe, so many of the fans believed
... selection, a classic that people of all ages and genders love. The similarities in interest in this show and many others have led to many Netflix sessions ended shorter than originally planned. The scenario: a guy or girl would invite a partner, or partners (It’s 2016), over to “chill” these people would end up deciding on a show to binge. After a given amount of time bit one thing would lead to another- hence the title of the phenomenon: “Netflix and Chill”. All made possible by the PlayStation 4.
Economic drivers remain down from historical levels. In 2003, WWE created two separate major television programs, Raw and Smackdown!, each with it’s own story lines and talent. This was done to create two touring companies and increase the number of live events and provides the potential to increase to the contribution of the entertainment business. WWE just needs time to produce the intended marketplace results. The company consistently retains the merit of being the number one regularly scheduled program on cable TV with Raw on Monday nights on TNN, and Smackdown! Is the highest rated show on UPN. It airs on Thursdays.
However, wrestlers also work what are called House Shows: non-televised "events-between-events." They can do up to 3 a week in addition to their already[-] busy schedules. Not wrestling today? Get on the bus and travel to the next town. Not travelling today? Get in the gym and train. The work never ends. Take ...
athletes and are involved in a pretty violent sport people would think wrestlers are dumb.
I want to discuss how the business of pro wrestling is viewed in today's society, and how wrestling has reached such widespread notoriety. I mean, honestly. Let's face it. The vast majority of the American population looks down upon this form of sports entertainment. As a whole, professional wrestling fans are thought to be toothless, sweaty, smelly rednecks with low IQ's, low morals, violent streaks, and a thirst for blood. Stereotypes of this magnitude are partially to blame for the mainstream media looking at professional wrestling with a condescending eye and, as such, making a mockery of it. Those stereotypes also couldn't be farther from the truth. Wrestling fans are a surprisingly entity of sports entertainment.
Fireworks as if it were the fourth of July. Thousands of people in an arena and billions watching around the world anxiously awaiting the arrival of their favorite superstar. Suddenly the crowd erupts as a man comes strutting down to the squared circle. Accompanied by a beautiful busty young woman, the wrestler is cheered by his loyal fans and booed by his enemies. Soon , another man enters the stadium the same way as the first man. The two men stip into the ring with a certain sense of cockiness about themselves. Before the referee can even tell everyone that the match has started, the two men are already battling in the “squared circle';. During the fight there are many suspenseful moments. Brutally beating each other for five minutes the match is finally over with some bloodshed. Today people are taking wwf professional wrestling to the extreme. WWF wrestling is one of the most watched shows on television today. WWF stands for the World Wrestling Federation. Wrestling started sometime it the mid to late sixties and has changed dramatically over the years. When wrestling first came to be the wrestlers weren’t like they were today. Back in the olden days of WWF wrestling, the storyline of wrestling wasn’t as vulgar, and the industry was not as wide spread throughout the world. Today the whole industry of the WWF is benefitting from merchandise being sold all over the globe. Even though many people may consider wrestling to be fake, know that some aspects are very real.
Other sports, such as basketball, soccer, and golf, rarely even send the greatest athletes from each country because they would much rather win the NBA finals, the World Cup, or the PGA Tour thanks to the enormous paydays that the athletes can receive from winning such tournaments. The Olympics, however, pays only a fraction of that to their medaling athletes, but wrestlers are not in it for the money. As long as wrestling is involved, an Olympic medal will continue to be the aspirations of wrestlers around the world.
'[You] say to the audience, this is what I saw. I didn't fake it, this
Wrestling is a great sport to better yourself and earn a bunch of awards and titles to look back on later on in life. It 's something i will never forget and cherish always. But the memories of losing all the weight and making myself miserable for all those seasons is something i will not miss. People around me were only worried about the medals i had gotten and not about my personal being, that 's where wrestling goes wrong. That 's what needs to change in the future for not only wrestlers but the people around them as well.
The only trick of reality television that does not go against the unwritten rules is the fake setting. In fake setting, real events may happen but at least all of the actors have a chance to say what they would actually say or do what they want to do freely without being edited. The setting really does not matter as long as the events that happen actually did happen in real life.
Identity-“Ones personal qualities.”Identiy is something only he or she can fully define. My uncle says I am affectionate, cheerful, and calm. My grandmother sees me as slim, pretty and sweet. My dad described me as perky, cheerful and happy, my mom says beautiful, gentle, and self-conscious. These adjectives describe me accurately, yet they are only abstract versions of me. Adjectives cannot begin to describe me and I aknowlege these descriptions for what they are, a condensed translation from my outward self to the world. It is impossible for anyone to understand me completely because nobody has experienced the things I have. My mother has never cherished a raggedy doll named Katie and my father never spent hours upon hours making collages and scrap books for his future children. My uncle never hid in the back of a pick-up-truck and traveled four hours to New York and my grandmother has never walked hours in the rain looking for the Queen of England. My identity is something only I can define.
While Americans watch these shows, it seems that the show is real life, but in reality, no pun intended, before the show is even filmed, it’s written, edited, and produced (Breyer 21). Writers humiliate and degrade people just for the plot of the show, making their private lives public (Breyer 16). One question that viewers ask is, “Is Reality Television really real?” One can think so, but in the long run, it is really not. A great example of this is World Wrestling Entertainment, also known as the WWE.
The main event is the best. That is where you get to see your favorite most of the time.
