It was the day, the day I have been counting down for weeks, the day I was most excited for, my birthday. I woke up on this wonderful morning to the smell of eggs and bacon streaming through the whole house. As I was about to get up and start my day my parents barged in my room shouting “Happy Birthday” while handing me a plate of food bigger than my head and a cup of hot coffee. I scarfed my food down so quick that I barley had time to breathe. I couldn 't contain my excitement any longer. I was waiting for all my friends to come over so that we could start all the activities we had planned for the day. After a few hours I heard the door bell ring. I ran to the door as fast as I could. When I opened the door it was my best friend. We decided to go swimming until the rest of our friends got there. Shortly after everyone arrived we heard the door bell ring, not knowing who it could be we …show more content…
After a while of walking we went to a food stand. I ordered the most nutritious thing the carnival had to offer, cheese fries with a coke. Sitting down with my food in front of me, I couldn 't help but notice the fries smothered in this yellow creamy cheese and the coke in a sweaty cup which was ice cold. After we were all done eating, we had no idea what to do next. We decided that we wanted to ride one last roller coaster before we left. I was finally on the ride after the, 10 minute line. I strapped myself in, waiting a few moments for the rest of the people to get on and then finally we began the long journey up the track. As we stopped at the top I admired the view of the scenery. Before I knew it we were plummeting down to the bottom of the roller coaster. We all walked off the roller coaster fumbling our steps because we all were so dizzy. That was enough for one night at the carnival we all agreed. Little did I know that the fun filled day would quickly turn into the most frightening day of my
I was called into admin with three managers sitting around. My department just passed the district walk-through a week before, the department was doing great, so I was curious to see what this meeting was about. My boss and bosses boss where sitting down, a lady from human resources was phone conferencing in. Defining moments in my life have helped shape my mindset. More so, it has allowed me to venture in a way to live my life with pure happiness and fulfillment. My defining moment was being let go of my job. I was completely devastated and felt like I was kicked sideways.
We sat down, on the ride, and the warm bars hugged around our chest. . I screamed one million times more than the little kids sitting next to me. The day went on and the sweet winds danced through the air. The excitement of Bailey, I, and the other people grew as we approached the bigger rides. After riding everything, the sky was starting to go to sleep. Because my stomach was in a whirl, I had to face my fear. We were standing in line of the Top Thrill Dragster. When I was standing there I was nervous with big eyes and my jaw wide open it could touch the ground.
Nevertheless, before I knew it, it was our turn to ride the Cork Screw. As soon as I entered onto the platform, I bolted towards the first car seat of the roller coaster. Following me slowl...
But it only took a little while for people to finish indulging in the food. Now it was “cake time!” As my cousin Hannah would say. She was right it was time for my birthday cake with a plastic Elmo piece sticking out the top that smiled all the time. On the cake were multi colored dots, front and center were the words Riley’s first Birthday was in cursive icing with the candle shaped one and the yellow dancing spot floating on top of the number. Then all I heard was everybody together saying “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Riley, happy birthday to you.” Not paying attention to what they were saying I was staring down the colorful, shape filled, mesmerizing cake, then my focus was broken. When my mama said “Are you ready to blow out your candle sweetie?” Whoosh was the noise my mama’s mouth made, and then the yellow dancing dot was
Handshoe had to get all of the tickets and drink bracelets. Next we got inside and Me, Landon, and Zach got a locker so we didn't have to carry around our bags all day. So the we go to our first ride of the day but Zach was to scared to get on anything so he just waited, we got on the Corkscrew, and it had a ton of twists and turns. After that we just walked around for a while, but then landon got to scared to get on anything else and so it was just me. So me and Landon were supposed to go on this ride called the Magnum, so i got into one of the cars and then i told Landon to come on and he said ha ha, no, and so i was stuck on this ride all by myself and i was kinda scared. After what landin did to me i just found another group to ride rides with and so i found Brandon Chase's group and just rode rides with them and Bradlee Kinnard, We rode The Rougarou, The Millennium Force, and a ton of other rides, and while on most of the rides i lost my voice and got sunburned. Then it was time to
She went over an array of dessert options and we decided to go with the gelato of the day, which happened to be Banana Nutella.
I knew it was almost my turn to ride, but I was not scared. This would prove that I could do anything that Madeline and Jackson could do, and things that even Madeline could not do. I had not gone on the last roller coaster, the Voyage, because it scared me so much, but I had said I felt sick and would
‘AHHHHHHHHH!” I shrieked as the wind rushed into my face and through my short blonde hair. As the coaster picked up speed, there were sharp twists and turns that made my whole body flail back and forth. It went up and down in large drops that must have been as big as mountains! I could feel my stomach drop at every decline, but finally relief!
We pulled into the roller coaster park in our Ford Excursion truck. It was me and my dearest friends. Our stomachs were growling like mountain lions. We haven’t had a chance to get something to eat during the trip. I opened the container of ham and cheese sandwiches and have had three sandwiches faster than a track star. My un-calm hands couldn’t even open a bottle of wild cherry soda. Thinking about what I’m going to do when we enter the park.
"Happy Birthday", my mom screamed out and scared me the morning of June 9. But it was surprising and nice of her since she wished me before anyone else. It was my eighteen birthday and it was my day. While looking out the big windows in my room, I thought to myself, I will do what satisfies me today, but wasn't quite sure what? I didn’t receive any calls from my friends, or other relatives. Nobody was home either besides my mom with whom I can’t make plans because she got her own work to do. It depressed me because it seemed like this was going to be one boring eighteen birthday.
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
It was a day of eager anticipation. It was a day of last-minute planning. It was the day before my fourteenth birthday. I had been looking forward to the party for at least two months. Everything was accounted for: balloons, Super Soakers, and music. There would be a barbeque of magnificent proportions. Miraculously, everyone had read the RSVP deadline and called in a week ahead of schedule. An enormous ice cream cake was to be delivered with eight large pepperoni pizzas. Needless to say, I was excited. It was to be my first party at our new house. I helped cook the enormous array of snack foods. I eventually surrendered to the temptation and stole a few strips of marinated steak when my mom wasn't looking. I had gone to bed that night with dreams of family, friends, and possibly a new stereo system.
It was my mother’s birthday, I forgot which birthday it was. Two weeks before that day, I was thinking about what should I do for her birthday. I thought about getting her a present and a card, but it seemed to me too dull. I wonder what can I do to let her remember that birthday for the rest of her life, although I cannot remember which birthday it was. I thought of one thing that I always wanted to change about birthday — the cake. I was young and I believed that the cake was really important for birthdays. Previously, the cakes were standard, they taste and look average, they were either chocolate or vanilla flavored with standard bakery decorations on the them, on top, they were always slapped on a white chocolate “Happy Birthday” sign. There I go, I can bake a cake for her from scratch, a unique one which she will never forget about.
It was on a Friday morning at 4:30 A.M. that happiness and joy filled the hearts of both my parents. I was born on November 29, 1996 at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida. My parents had five children, and among the five children that they had, I was the third (or middle) child from them. It started off as two boys, then I came along as the first girl, after it was another boy, then finally, another baby girl; so total was three boys and two girls. The way that my parents lived and treated each other was the same as if any other married couple that loved each other so much. They’ve gone through a lot to get to where they are now today, but they made it and along the way had us five children. They have been really strong with each other which made them only have the five of us and no other step children. My mom is a great cook and enjoy cooking for us; this is probably where my passion for culinary comes from. My dad is an amazing tailor, he is very good at making our clothes, and my passion for fashion probably came from him. My dad is also a teacher, one of the best math teacher I know, he is passionate about his job and his family is the center of his universe. I cannot finish this chapter without mentioning my grandmother, I was lucky enough to have ever met. I had spent part of my life time with her, like the rest of the family she is sweet, my grandmother Abelus,
It was December 4, 2014 and it was snowing outside. I was sitting at the kitchen table doing homework. All my family was downstairs, so I was all alone. My English teacher told us to write a paper about how I am different from my classmates. I was thinking about what in my life makes me different and slowly my whole life was playing like a movie in my head. The first memory that popped into my head was my fourth birthday party. It was supposed to be the best birthday ever. My dad was going to come. It was February 24, 2002 at my birthday party. There were so many people there, but I was so focused on my dad coming, no one else seemed to matter. My cake was pink and yellow with a bicycle on it. I had a red and blue inflatable that kids were
