At the heart of what I do as a family photographer, is capturing the essence of a family's moments together, so they'll remember it forever. Every session is special to me, but this latest family session was truly close to my heart.
Bernice is someone I've known for years. When I was doing respirator therapy a few years ago, we worked together. She always had a smile on her face and is the sweetest and kindest person ever.
A few weeks ago, she posted that she was finally able to adopt her sweet little girl, Sylvia. Bernice and her husband, Kris, had struggled to have their own child, but weren't able to conceive. Sylvia came into their lives at a time when she was truly needed. My heart almost exploded with the joy I had for her. Immediately, I knew I had to gift her a family session.

The night of the session as their family photographer, I brought out my carousel horse named Beauty.
I wanted to get some photographs of it in the field near the studio. Sylvia was eager to jump on Beauty, and they were some of the best photographs from this session.
My heart swelled as I saw the interaction between this new family. Their story, Sylvia and Beauty as well as the glitter made the entire session truly magical. You can see the love these three have for each other, and these parents couldn't keep their eyes off their little girl.
This little girl is truly loved and the couple has said that she's an answered prayer for them as I'm sure they are to her. This little princess enjoys dance, dressing up and helping mom bake sweets in the kitchen. She loves to cuddle her parents, and all of their joy was evident in this family photographer session. I couldn't have been any happier to see my friend so happy with her family and be able to capture these memories for
her.
She has been there from the time the twins were born. She demonstrates great support for reuniting the family.
Photography allows us to maintain memories and relish them whenever we desire. Although some advocates might argue that people are no longer enjoying experiences instead taking more pictures, in the essay, “Why We Take Pictures”, by Susan Sontag, she conflates that photography can be used as a defense against anxiety and a tool of empowerment. I agree with Sontag on the significance of photographs and how it allows us to store a part of our extended relatives so we are able to hold on the memories of family. Therefore, we must appreciate how photography allows us to manage anxiety, express feelings and remember our loved ones.
Any photograph I take I want one to dissect their own imagination, searching within themselves the story the picture tells, to draw out ones imagination. To taste the substance of what the photograph is, what they hear and feel from the image. To not just look at the picture, but to actually see it, and understand it under their own terms. I want someone to look at my art and wonder, what’s just up those stairs, just beyond the ajar door, or what magic is at hand.
She was a true inspiration. She was entering her tenth year of fighting, but instead of allowing sadness and anger to take over her life, she didn’t take anything for granted and lived life to the fullest. This experience with her and the other local children battling cancer, solidified my desire to work with

No Questions asked, this lady is so sweet and kid. Without a doubt, it is a tremendous job to accept a kid into your live as your and raise it. My mom, did the same thing for two little girls, at once they were just the kids my mother was helping. Soon, they just started to become family and over time spending every single day with they you slowly get attached. Then, each time you think they were going to have to go back your start to panic, because they are no longer just two little girls they are your two little sisters. Until, one day the panic is gone forever, because the adoption papers finally get to be
Christina and the entire tribe behind her is amazing and as the pictures began appearing on Facebook from the boys and girls that were receiving their Blessing Dolls, my heart grew and grew. I knew that if you hadn 't fallen in love with these beautifully handcrafted loving little dolls than you needed too.
For anyone that don’t know me, Maria Angelina Meraz was my daughter. Although we had little time together I cherished our time. Through our struggles of only being me and her, on welfare and wondering where we would rest at nite we kept moving forward. I did everything I could to take care of her and be the best single, homeless pops I can ever be. I just wish we had more time together, one of the reasons why is because my daughter was the only thing I had left.
During the past few days, many of our friends and family have come to our home to show their love for us and for Arlyn. I have been especially moved by the fact so many of her teachers and principals have shown up and cried with us. I am also touched by the love her young friends had for her. Our memories of this sad time in our lives will therefore not all be bad.
appreciation for her and her hard work. This moment had taught me to show my kids happiness
In times, we often see things, but we don't really capture what is beyond it. In some cases, there are people who are artistic and are prone to see what other's cannot visualize. Every individual has a talent which can be expressed and processed differently. Something you see can mean entirely divergent things to someone else;for example, some may see thing's that may seem simple, but in the eyes of an artist, it can be perceived with a whole new definition, dimension, and a potentially new discovery. As a photographer, my view of the world, can be skewed towards looking at everyday objects as potential art, but it wasn't always like that.
Photojournalism plays a critical role in the way we capture and understand the reality of a particular moment in time. As a way of documenting history, the ability to create meaning through images contributes to a transparent media through exacting the truth of a moment. By capturing the surreal world and presenting it in a narrative that is relatable to its audience, allows the image to create a fair and accurate representation of reality.
Being a mother is the greatest privilege I have ever known. It's hard to believe how fast time flies when you're having fun, but this young lady reminds me of it every
“The children have been a wonderful gift to me, and I’m thankful to have once again seen our world through their eyes. They restore my faith in the family’s future” (Anderson, 176). Her children were her world; everything she did was for them. She tried her best to be the perfect mother.
Traveling and seeing new cultures and capturing every moment of it. Photography has to do with creativity and the practice of taking and processing photos. I chose photography because it matched my personality and all of the things I wanted in a career. Photography is the best career choice based on the work environment, education and training, important qualities needed, salary, and job outlook.
