Fall Traditions
Most individuals here in the south have to endure these hot and humid summer days consisting of over one-hundred degree heat. In this particular weather we can’t do too many outside activities without us sweating profusely. I would sometimes break out in a sweat by just walking in the heat to my car from my air-conditioned apartment. Mother Nature decided to give us a break from the excruciating heat by easing up on everyone with the season of fall. In the fall season some people enjoy different traditions that involve outdoor activities. We can sit outside on the porch and feel the brisk wind pass us while admiring the different colors of the landscape. We can also attend events at the park, lake, or even the beach

Some would go out as a family, or The Father would take his son out in the woods to teach him how to hunt. I could always tell fall is here when I would look to the sky and see a flock of birds flying down south for the winter. We can also enjoy the tradition of pumpkin picking in the fall. Some of the children agree that there is nothing better than picking the perfect pumpkin for painting, carving, and making a delicious pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays which also is celebrated during the fall season. Thanksgiving is an annual family tradition that started with the pilgrims and the Native Indians uniting in a harvest festival during the six-teen hundreds. In the modern day we now come together to have a Thanksgiving feast as a family enjoying each other’s company. During the Thanksgiving Holidays I would always enjoy traveling to see family that I haven’t seen in a long period of time. Another fall tradition we have is football, which is one of the most popular sports events held during the fall season. This event is played mainly outdoors consisting of kids in little league all the way to professionals in the National Football League. They are all working hard striving to obtain one mutual goal. They want to be the best team in their particular league. I would enjoy going to watch football games with my grandfather during every fall football
Autumn is used to depict those who pose a threat towards other people, it is commonly used throughout the novel to describe those associated with the circus. The circus is seen as evil to the boys
When the great holiday of Thanksgiving comes to mind, most people think of becoming total gluttons and gorging themselves with a seemingly unending amount of food. Others might think of the time spent with family and friends. The whole basis of the holiday is family togetherness, fellowship, and thankfulness for blessings received during the previous year.
Thanksgiving Compare and Contrast Food, Family, and Fun!! Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States, always celebrated on a Thursday in November. There are many different ways people celebrate Thanksgiving. You give thanks and celebrate what you are most thankful for. Thanksgiving is a national holiday that has many different traditions, activities, and foods in different families.
Thanksgiving is a holiday that began hundreds of years ago. It was a celebration of many different things. One of the most important reasons for the celebration was thankfulness that many of the Pilgrims survived the first year of their new lives in America. Today, however, Thanksgiving seems to have a very different meaning to people. Their main focus is not being thankful for the things they have, but wanting more.
During fall, the leaves fall, the temperature drops, and people sit around a table and say what they are thankful for. While we are consuming pounds of turkey and stuffing, the Pilgrims are to thank for the annual feast. Because the meaning of this holiday is to not stuff your face with endless amount of carbs, we should be reminded of how grateful we are for what we own. Thanksgiving was a very memorable time in U.S. history.
We dont really have any unique family traditions. The only thing that we seem to do over and over is meet up at an certain family members house and feast. Usually during Thanksgiving it’s the cooler weather. We usually have windbreakers or something of that nature on.
Thanksgiving is a very important holiday in present-day American culture. People all throughout America take extra care to make this day a memorable and happy celebration. This tradition has been in the American lifestyle since 1621 when it first started. Even though this tradition has been altered and changed the significance and meaning remains the same. The first Thanksgiving was an important landmark and made a huge imprint in the American culture today.
Traditionally, thanksgiving is looked at as a harvest festival. There are many parts of the United States that celebrate it in this way. It is the celebration and the thanksgiving of the crops that safely grew in the past
One of the best tradition’s is Homecoming Weekend it’s embedded into high school culture from East to West, North to South. In every mega metropolis to rural town’s American’s will pack stadiums for one all important game. Homecoming will bring communities together, in what I call the Pageantry of Football. Pageants have been part of our cultures for years, and Football has its pageantry with a long traditional football game. Producing parades and barn fires on Thursday before the game, the nominations for the King and Queen elected by the entire student body of the home team, and huge prep rallies. Almost anyone can remember going to one of the before mentioned activities during their high school years. As a former high school football player; I can remember the homecoming football game. This is the one game you must win! You know that you are representing your community all week, people from the community give you a pat on the back, and some former players will reminisce of their days of old, to inspire you to play well and win this one big game. Former Kings and Queens will travel across the country in some cases to participate in the festival of Homecoming Weekend. Parents will spend countless amounts of money to prepare their students for the homecoming dance followed by the big game, to cumulate the week’s activities.
People have celebrated a mid-winter festival since pre-historic times. They marked the beginning of longer hours of daylight with fires and ritual offerings. The Roman festival of Saturnalia -- a time for feasting and gambling -- lasted for weeks in December. Germanic tribes of Northern Europe also celebrated mid-winter with feasting, drinking and religious rituals.
Fall is sudden, unpredicted, unintentional occurrence resulting in-patient landing on ground or at lower level. Falls and fall related injuries incur cost for the patient as well as the health cares system. The fall has a significant impact in patient quality of life and usually fall has many reasons to happen. Thus, preventing falls among patients in healthcare settings requires a complex approach, and recognition, evaluation and prevention of patient falls are significant challenges. Falls are a common cause of injury and the leading cause of nonfatal injuries and trauma-related hospitalizations in the United States (Barton, 2009). Falls occur in all types of healthcare institutions and to all patient populations. Up to 12% of hospitalized patients fall at least once during their hospital stay (Kalisch, Tschannen, & Lee, 2012). It has been using different strategies in many hospitals to prevent or at least to decrease the incidence of fall. However, the number of falls in the hospitals increases at alarming rate in the nation. The hospitals try to implement more efficient intervention strategies, but the number fall increase instead of decrease. In fact, many interventions to prevent falls and fall-related injuries require organized support and effective implementation for specific at risk and vulnerable subpopulations, such as the frail elderly and those at risk for injury.
When I was a Child, I have never stopped wondering what it would be to fly in the sky. I had tried to jump from sofa or bed with an opened umbrella in my hand, and imagined myself as a flying bird. As I grow up, those wonderful fantasy become faded in my brain. I still like flying, and I had experience something like helicopter tour, but never a real fly. I always have the thoughts to explore life, to experience
In the Caribbean, the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a multicultural nation due to the variety of cultures that can be found in the country. From Syrian to Asian and African to East Indian, Trinidad and Tobago have become the destination for every creed and race over the years. However, within this multicultural society, one assured issue is racism. Racism is defined as the belief that human races have distinct characteristics which determine their perspective cultures, usually involving the idea that one’s own race has been superior and has the right to rule or dominate others. Racism is also a form of prejudice and discrimination where prejudice is defined as negative attitudes and feeling toward or about a group or category
We spend the day baking cookies, making fudge and preparing a big Christmas dinner, with all the trimmings. The children love to see each other. They spend the day playing games and sharing their new gifts and toys that Santa Claus brought for each of them. They get so eager to decorate, that it is hard to restrain them.Decorating for Christmas is so much fun. My father always draws a new background scenery, for the Nativity scene, that he displays, every year. He, my brother-in-laws and my husband start with the decorations for the outside of the house and the front yard.
Everything for a year had been leading up to this point and here I was in the middle of the happiest place on earth in tears because my friends had abandoned me in the middle of Disney on the senior trip.
