Recommended: Country Music genre
I listen to all kinds of music except rock. i can’t stand that music; that’s for crazy people. the most i listen to would be spanish and country. there is nothing like that music better then anything else. that music just makes me feel better. when i’m sad i listen to country and makes me feel better and when i’m happy i listen to spanish. My favorite genre in music is country music, because the singers express their feelings. country music is different because the entire singer’s relate to their child hood. they also relate to their family members. they also relate to iraq and how family members react when they’ve been told that their love ones aren’t coming back home. they express their love life’s and make you think about “falling in love” …show more content…
the weight of the log would keep it in the same place in the water, like a provisional anchor, while the ship moved away. by measuring the length of line used up in a set period of time, mariners could calculate the speed of their journey (the rope itself was marked by equidistant “knots” for easy measurement). as a ship’s voyage progressed, the course came to be marked down in a book that was called a log. in journeys at sea that took place before radio or radar or satellites or sonar, these logs were an indispensable source for recording what actually happened. they helped navigators surmise where they were and how far they had traveled and how much longer they had to stay at sea. they provided accountability to a ship’s owners and traders. they were designed to be as immune to faking as possible. away from land, there was usually no reliable corroboration of events apart from the crew’s own account in the middle of an expanse of blue and gray and green; and in long journeys, memories always blur and facts disperse. a log provided as accurate an account as could be gleaned in real time.
Music has played an important part in my life. My love for music comes from my dad. Growing up I remember him having a room full of CDs and instruments that he played daily. The songs varied in genres and the instruments ranged from pianos, violins to drums. I grew up loving almost every style of music so, it is very difficult for me to dislike a song unless, it is vulgar or “dark”.
Growing up I remember my mom turning the music up whenever she heard a good song. The only genre, she listened to was country so I grew up loving country music. I now turn the music up whenever I hear a song Luke Bryan wrote because his music is so good. Growing up Luke Bryan was a normal child, but over the 20 or more years, so many devastating things have happened to his family that are hard for Bryan and his family to get over.
Attention Getter: When I was 12, my father bought many albums of American music and played them on car, and it was the first time I got to know different types of American music. I liked rock by Bon Jovi, and pop by Whitney Houston, but the one I loved the most was a lively and lovely music, the country music.
“Buddy was the first person to have faith in my music. He encouraged me in my music and my writing. He was my friend. If anything I’ve ever done is remembered, part of it is because of Buddy Holly.”
Music can be a very fun topic to discuss. Many people have different preferences or other first choices in the type of music they listen to. I like many different types of music. But as any other person I have one I prefer. Me, being the normal teenager, I prefer hip-hop.
On Friday, April 14, I decided to go to BlueWhale jazz club in Little Tokyo, Downtown LA, which had a Jazz concert under the title “Anthony Fund featuring George Garzone”. I decided to google who is Anthony Fung who was a brilliant young drummer who was the same age as me, 23, I was very intrigued to attend. when I arrived at the Jazz Club the place was surprisingly packed. Me and my friends who I dragged along had to stand up for a while. the band has not yet started, there was only the drummer entertaining the audience. it seemed that Fung plays there often and he is quite popular. I scanned the audience to see what kind of people are there. It was my first time to attend a jazz concert, and since the beginning
My life intersects with Into The Wild because I never had a good relationship with my mom or stepfather Dan who was 21 years older than my mother. So I “escaped” to Columbia much like Chris did from his own reality. Dan would drink every day; you would rarely see him without a drink in his hand. His drink of choice would be either whiskey or beer depending on what he could afford. You could always tell when he was smashed and when he was I was the person he wanted to tear down with his words the most. I remember one night after my grandma just had surgery and she was staying with us my mom asked me to cook. I told her I would. I then went outside to check what I was grilling and I knew Dan was out there intoxicated.
My feet are sore from rushed reps, and the sun is beating down on my back as I spin the routine for “America the Beautiful” for the umpteenth time. Mr. Rice had no sympathy despite this being the last day of band camp. The longer that I spent marching circles around the school, the more nervous I was about running out of time. It wasn't necessarily anybody's fault that the clock was ticking down, and that I was afraid of losing everything. The metronome beat endlessly, speeding up as if it wanted rest as much as we did.
We’ve all been there before; being in one of the lowest point in your life, or having a joyous celebration. During these moments, we tend to listen to music that is similar to our feelings. When we’re sad, we listen to slower, moving songs; when we’re happy, we choose upbeat music; when we’re angry, we may listen to darker music that reflect our level of anger. The funny thing about it is that when you’re asked to name your favorite band or performer it might be difficult to even give your top five. You may not realize it, but you prefer to listen to music that resonates how we feel at one point.
Music is one of the most fantastical forms of entertainment. Its history stretches all the way from the primitive polyrhythmic drums in Africa to our modern day pop music we listen to on our phones. It has the ability to amaze us, to capture our attention and leave us in awe. It soothes the hearts of billions, and it is so deeply rooted in my life that it has touched my heart as well. Everyday I walk to the beat of the song stuck in my head and hum along to the melody. For me, to listen to music be lifted into the air by the hands of your imagination and float around for a while. You forget about your worries, your troubles and find peace within the sound. Every chapter in my life is attached with a song. Every time I listen to a certain song, thoughts of my past come flooding back
In music there are so many different types of genres. Some of which are Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, Country, Rock & Roll, Classic, Jazz, Latino, Dance, Blues, Holiday and many more. Each genre has a different type of emotion; all of them don’t make
Not every person is going to have the same taste in music, but why is it that people find a certain genre more appealing than others? A person’s personality and individuality clearly has a large role Research indicates that there is a definite correlation between personality and music preferences (Rentfrow & Gosling p. 1236-1237, Chamorro-Premuzic & Furnham p. 180-183). Those that enthusiastically chose to involve music in their lives will be more open to whatever music findings they come across in their everyday lives. There are also individuals who can play one or more musical instrument(s) and would be considered music lovers. Most of them have started from a young age and as they grew older would spend huge amounts of...
One of the most nerve-wrecking things I had to do alone, was going on an airplane. It wasn’t the first time I had gone on an airplane, but it had been a long time since I had been on one. I was 12 at the time and I was going to visit my auntie in Austin, Texas. The only way I could go visit her for summer vacation, was by going on a plane all by myself. I remember I was wearing a white shirt with neon pink flowers, my favorite shirt, when I was on my way to the airport. It was just my auntie, my mom, and I that were in the car. Once we got there, we all said our goodbyes and I started off on my airplane journey, all on my own.
Ever since I was a small child, I have loved music. The strong, steady beats, the
Music can be interpreted in so many different ways, like when you’re sad you could just look up on youtube sad song and a million would come up. My favorite type of music is country and R&B, or rap it just depends on my mood. Love is mostly consistent in both genres and thats my favorite thing about it. I can listen to anything type of music and find a love song. Love song’s are my favorites because, they make a picture with the music. It’s so pretty and just make’s me happy to hear what they are signing is from their heart. There are also break-up songs that everyone loves for some odd reason. The song’s can really get you. They make you think about your love life and how happy or sad. Love to me is something very difficult,
