“Change My Life” Narrative Essay The one person who has influenced my life the most is my dance teacher from middle school, Mrs Linden. Mrs Linden is the dance teacher at Sunnymead Middle School, and has taught there for many years. She was my dance teacher for all three years that I was there, as she inspired me alot. My life has changed for the better since I met her because she has taught me to fight for what I want and to not give up on something I love which is dance. She believed in me when many did not. My 8th grade year it was competition day and I was leading one of the dances. Mrs Linden told me she wanted me to lead because I grew up right in front of her and earned my spot. Throughout my years with her I made many mistakes, but
she was able to see through them and continued to push me to do better with my life. Because of her I grew up, I matured, and I learned from my mistakes. I worked for everything I wanted and became an independent woman because of her. When I first met Mrs Linden, I didn’t think much of her but then I noticed her being harder on me more than anyone else. I was working so hard, doing the best I could but it turns out that wasn’t my best, she knew I was better than that so she pushed me until I showed her my best. That moment I showed her my best I felt unstopable, I remember her looking at me being so proud, and that is when I noticed that to be the best I can in everything I have to do the best I can. I can’t slack off and not care about school because that’ll be something i’d regret for the rest of my life. I have noticed recently now that I don’t see her every single day that I try harder to live up to her standards. People use to tell me that I couldn’t do things and that I wouldn’t make it in life, but she told me that in order to prove them wrong I have to work for it. So that is exactly what I am going to do, I will prove everyone that doubted me wrong one day. I’ve started looking at things differently now that things have changed because of Mrs Linden, I stopped acting like an immature kid, I stopped pretending that school doesn’t matter, and most of all I work for what I want, I don’t sit around and wait to see what happens. I live life with no regrets and I live life as a strong woman that will fight for what she wants. No, Mrs Linden is not my teacher anymore, but she will always be my inspiration. It took me awhile to grow up and learn for my mistakes, but it shouldn’t take that long for you to see what your doing to your life, good or bad. You doing better with your life should be an automatic thing, you shouldn’t need someone to tell you that you have to do better. Everybody makes mistakes, but what really matters is how you learn from them. If someone tells you, you can’t do something work ten times harder to prove them wrong.
So many people have made an impact on society and myself today. It is hard to decide who's influences have been the greatest and who has had the most impact all together. In selecting these unique people, I had to look at my own morals and values and ask myself what I encounter day by day. My everyday life basically consists of money, music, technology, and people, which has lead me to research individuals who made an impact on these aspects.
First is my childhood and how it affected me growing up. The ones who affected me the most were my friends and family. Why they were such a major impact is because they are always there for me. Also they was supportive and the things that I did and they were completely honest with me what they said.So that realy mande me grow as a person. But the ones who hand the must inpake on me who is in my family besides my parents are my gramparents. All the thangs they did for is why they such a major
There are many people and events that have influenced me and shaped me into the person I have become, from my teachers to my parish priests. The one person who has had the most impact on my life is my cross country coach, Sarah Olesky. She has taught me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it and use a little hard work.
If you asked me why or how she inspires me, I don’t think I would be able to answer that. I am not sure what exactly it was that first made her a big role model in my life but for some strange reason she is always the person that pops into my mind when thinking about influential people in my life. I don’t know how long it took me to realize that she truly does care about her dance students or how long it took me to really crack the shield she puts up to cover her emotions. I do know one instance where I learned that she does care about me.
She was the most caring and dedicated teacher I ever had and she respected every student as an individual. On the other hand, she had a very negative influence on my life. She is the person who told me there was no Santa Clause, which ruined Christmas for me for a very long time. Another person who has had a great influence on my life is Mr. Robinson. He was my first band teacher. He is the person who convinced me to join band, which
My next major influence was my first grade teacher. I remember most of that school year was spent on Martin Luther King Jr. That was the first time I had learned about racism, and what had happened in the past to blacks, amongst others. That school year had a great impact on me and it has changed me ever since to treat all people fairly, no matter what color, sex, intelligence level, social class, etc. This experience has taught me the meaning of democracy, and how to practice it.
One thing that really bothers me is how much I changed. I used to play games all day, not focus on school, wouldn't get in serious trouble, and was very innocent compared to my present day self. There are cons and pros of my past self compared to how I am currently. I am more happy of how I am now then I am before. As time changes, so do I and I can not stop that. What’s done has already been done and can’t be changed so you always have to look towards the future and never the past. The past will not definite who you are today unless you let it. I would have never expect that I would be transferred to a continuation high school in my freshman year. It is a bad thing to many people, but I am thankful that I am sent to it because I will learn
You would think that when I decided what to do with the rest of my life, it would be some profound moment when something huge took place. Nothing dangerous or crazy happened, but my heart was changed. Suddenly, everything made sense to me and I knew what journey I was going to take and why I was going to take it. The funny thing about all of this is, it was one kindergartner who opened my eyes. One five year-old who showed me what I’m destined to do for the rest of my life.
Although I am only sixteen years old and in the eleventh grade of high school, many things have influenced me and caused me to be the person that I am today. I hope that these things will continue to help me be a better person and influence me as my life continues. Some of the things that have influenced me have been church, my family, my friends, and school.
There is a point in everyone’s life when they step back and realize “I can’t do this anymore, it’s ruining my life”. Many of my friends have started smoking cigarettes while drinking at a very young age, and continue to use this drug currently and don’t realize the affect it has on their future. While I have been smart enough to avoid smoking, I haven’t been as wise at making decisions when it comes to drinking. The amount of partying I’ve done in college has taken over my life, and has had a huge impact on my grades. Changing my drinking habits and continuing to avoid cigarettes will enable me to be the best I can be for the rest of my college experience.
My Math Teacher, Mrs. Ladd. When thinking back and remembering all of the teachers that I have had in the past, there is one in particular that comes to mind. Her name was Mrs. Ladd. She taught math at the junior high school.
There have been tons of things that I have learned and been taught in my life, by a number of people such as family, teachers, or even friends on occasion. The things they taught me vary from math and other related subjects to just some truly simple yet meaningful life lessons. However, there is nothing quite as unique, quite as special as a person teaching themselves a life lesson. It really is an amazing accomplishment for a person to teach themselves something. It is not quite as simple as another person teaching them something because it is not just the transferring of information from one person to another. The person instead has to start from scratch and process the information they have in their mind in order to come up with a new thought
Every piece of me has seemed to come from an inspirational woman who has somehow graced my life. Whether for a second or for a decade, they have made imprints on my soul. To limit myself to describe the one person who has given me the most inspiration would be virtually unfeasible. I am a collage of influence and choice made by those with whom I have interacted.
Many people and things surrounding me have had an impact in my life. The people who have had the greatest impact in my life is my family. My family is the reason I do the most of the stuff I do. Because my family, I want to succeed and do whatever that it takes to do so. I want to make sure I set a good example for my younger siblings and family members.
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
