With a monstrous bang! and a world bleached white, I got into my first car accident. One car stranded in the middle of the road, front obliterated; the other halfway into the dark woods, smashed in on one side. Here my journey from childhood into responsibility and maturity reached its childhood peak, quickly twisting into the introduction of my adulthood life. After only two months of receiving my driver’s license, what should have been a light-hearted day at the ocean turned into a terrifying experience where my actions sent three people, one of which was an infant, to the hospital. This had been the pivotal point in what was the roller coaster of a ride that started 2 years ago. This accident was the conclusion of my transition to my current state of maturity from a child to a young adult; I was responsible for 4 other people’s lives, all much more important for my own simply because it was my fault. This was a lesson I didn’t want to learn about responsibility, defining my maturity, being able to understand how delicate each situation is and that to be successful in my life I need to take responsibility for my actions. …show more content…

I not only changed locations, but also changed into a different school setting. From adults I talked to, the transition to adulthood is not a discrete moment but is transitioned to experience by experience. My change from Washington to New Hampshire was just this, a change in experiences which allowed me to view the view in a broader way. It was through the move and the accident, I gained my maturity that I needed to decide to complete high school early and how I feel I am fit to start
