I interviewed Mr. D on March 20, 2018. Mr. D. is a 23-year-old graduate student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational and Relational Communications and is currently employed at said university. Throughout his college career, Mr. D. was an active member and president of his fraternity, served as a mentor for the Thompson Scholars Learning community, participated with his home church and helped the university’s recruitment office.
He and his family are originally from Monterrey, Mexico but have lived in 7 different states both in Mexico and the United States. He was 9 years old when his family first immigrated to the United States. Mr. D. is the oldest of two, he has a younger sister

D.’s life are his parents, his career, his education, and his coaching. For Mr. D. his parents are a big influence on how he views his religion and the importance of family. Both his parents have been pastors since he was a child. Because of this, Mr. D. hopes to one day become a pastor himself. Since his family currently moved to Texas, it has caused him to become very independent. However, one of his goals is to eventually move to Texas to be reunited with his family. “I want to enjoy time with my parents while they’re still good [healthy]. Not just when they’re older like most people do. Having my parents be far away really makes me miss them and I just want my family …show more content…
Mr. D. works for the Undergraduate Admissions Office at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is also working on his master’s in Student Affairs. As for coaching, it provides an opportunity for him to meet students in high school, provide a connection for them with the university, and the ability to participate in the sport he loves, soccer. Mr. D. enjoys his time as a coach as well as recruiting for the university. He sees his career has a way to utilize his skills and abilities, travel, and do what he enjoys most, connecting with people. While interviewing Mr. D., I was surprised by how open and friendly he was throughout the interview. The interview was conducted in a conference room located in the Student Affairs Building where Mr. D. works. Because of this, I expected Mr. D. to be polite, which of course he was, but also very formal. Mr. D., however, was quick to set a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere by opening the interview with jokes. His overall body posture was alert and eager to answer my
The second stage consisted of conducting an interview, via email, with the college’s Vice-President of HR, Dr. Deitra C. Payne. The interview questions and Dr. Payne’s responses were as follows:
Richard Ramirez was born to Mercedes and Julian Ramírez, a Mexican American railway worker. Being the youngest of seven children,
Both on an off the field, my enthusiasm and motivation to obtain a goal is a trait that I am very proud of. I have faced many tasks where a leader had needed to step up and I am always willing to do so. I am also willing to get help when I need it. If I can’t complete a task by myself I do not mind asking a classmate, teammate, friend or a teacher for guidance. By bringing that openness and leadership to University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I believe that I can also attribute to the University of Charleston’s Mission Statement “to educate each student for a life of productive work, enlightened living, and community involvement.” By bettering the Athletic Training community by providing care to our Athletes I believe that I will be a great addition to the Athletic Training
interviewee development. I chose to interview one of my fraternity brothers, who work in higher
On November 19, 2016 I sat him down to conduct an interview and asked him the following questions and received the following responses:
In this paper, I will write a brief reflection over my interview with Professor David Christianson. I asked my professor fourteen questions, all question had different meanings and answers. I will start off my paper with some facts and advice which I received from my professor, my personal reflection on the facts, my personal reflection on the overall experience, and lastly, I will end my paper with the conclusion.
Many girls of different ages fantasize about the perfect wedding, perfect husband, a gorgeous dress, and the happiness to come after the wedding. At one point I was just like these girls. I saw marriage as a paradise that everybody should experience. Around tenth- grade, my rose tinted glasses were removed and I witnessed just how bad a marriage could get to the point of divorce. The divorce my parents went through, changed my entire view on monogamy. I now see marriage in a more realistic point of view and that it is not an easy journey as I once had thought it was.
The individual I interviewed is Dan Rach, he is one of my co-workers. He was born on November 19, 1942. Dan is the second born in his family out of five children. Unfortunately three of his siblings died shortly after they were born. His oldest brother is six years older than him and his sister is six years younger than him. Dan was raised in a typical Irish Catholic Family in a typical Irish neighborhood, on the south side of Chicago. His father was a businessman, and his mother was a stay at home mom. At age forty-two Dan’s father died leaving his mother at time age thirty-six, to raise the children and provide support. His mother immediately had to start taking classes in order to continue selling insurance.
I remember the year my Highschool team went to the state championship. My team the Kansas City Hawks went up against the twelve time champs The St.Louis Kings. What made them twelve time champs was us. Every time my team went to the championship The Kings met us there. All twelve times The King where the victors. January 25,2024 The Hawks were on a warpath for that Championship.
I became who I am today because of a life changing experience that occurred in late-November of 2013. As I sat waiting for the awards ceremony my palms got sweaty and the butterflies in my stomach multiplied. The announcer seemed to drag on the awards for hours when in reality it was only minutes until first place was awarded. It was then that I realized I was a State Champion.
Coaching, however challenging, is a great way to influence the lives of others while also building their character. For as long as there have been sports, there have been people teaching the sport to the players and making them better at it. Coaches must have certain qualities in order to obtain success. One must also look at a coach’s motivation for his job, his passion for what he does, his methods for coaching, and how he became a coach in order to fully understand him. There are many questions someone may want to ask a coach about his profession if they are interested in coaching. Some questions would include: Why did he choose this as a profession? How did he get into coaching? What does one have to do to get a job as a coach? How does a coach become successful? I aim to answer all of these questions and more in my paper.
There are many things that have molded me into the person I am today such as being born into a family with four children. With three siblings, I have been forced to be able to work out problems from stealing each other’s toys to having to rush to the emergency room to get stiches because my brother chased me around the house and I tripped. My mother, father, brother, and two sisters were all born in Pennsylvania and I am the odd ball and I was born in Adrian, Michigan. From when I was a child I always loved being involved with sports because of my competitive nature. I grew up playing soccer and having success with that but then my love changed and I began playing lacrosse and football. I started playing lacrosse in middle school and played
For this assignment I had the pleasure of interviewing my mentor. A gentleman that I truly admire for his endless efforts and never say enough attitude, I find him to be nothing less than the working backbone to an education system. A man that has given his life to his career in order to ensure an amazing future for all students to come. My mentor Mr. Hardy Keith Edwards. Hardy is an educator for the Compton Unified School District, he is a specialist in English language arts and a long term Substitute teacher. Along with those two demanding roles Mr. Edwards also wears the hat of Lyft Driver, Creative Consultant for the American Aesthetics Academy, and Author/Writer of an amazing soulful book of poetry titled Pepper Grease, and his greatest most heart filled role of caretaker for his grandmother.
Summer vacation, and school ends for about three months, and then you have as much fun as you can, then back to school… right? Well I had to go to summer school, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Everything was going fine, I had a job after summer school, and that was going fine as well. They say that summer is supposed to be fun and exciting, and it usually is for me and my family. However in July my father started coughing up blood. My father usually doesn’t make it his top priority to go to the doctors, so he waited about four weeks until he really didn’t feel good.
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
