I walked through the woods not knowing how amazing and crazy this afternoon would be. But I could tell something wasn’t right. The way the trees moved the way the rocks were positioned. Something just wasn’t right. I had this feeling that someone was watching me. I creaked my head back just a tiny bit and I saw this little yellow creature flying. I quickly turned my head away. Whatever was watching me was obviously evil. I turned my head real quick and I stared the creature in the eyes quickly realizing it was a harmless flock of birds. For whatever reason these big yellow birds were following me home. They were about the size of a watermelon. I didn’t know how they could fly without toppling over. Unfortunately, I heard a THUNK! And one of them had tumbled to the ground. I quickly went to help him realizing that this bird had broken a wing. What I was worried most about was how my mom would react to having a bird to take care of. I went home cradling the bird like a mother would for her baby …show more content…
When I reached my house my mother said “Eli Kristov Adams!
This is ridiculous. There is no way we will be having an injured bird in this house! You know if your father sees it he’ll want to keep it until it passes!” I was so upset I didn’t know what else to do with him my mom suggested, “How about taking him to a bird sanctuary? There he will be taken care of and they will do a much better job at taking care of him then we could ever have imagined.” After a lot of arguing I finally gave into my mother. We drove and dropped him off downtown. They said they could fix
him. At night I was the saddest child in the world. That bird was amazing! I only knew him for an hour but I loved taking care of him. He was my rock. He was amazing. He was… PECK! PECK! PECK! “What the heck is that sound?” I go to the window to see something amazing something incredible. MY BIRDY!!!! “You need a name. I’ll call you Gunter.” So then we made a long lasting relationship. I hid him from my mom but I was able to feed him and care for him for a while until… One day I looked outside and I panicked my bird saw what I was looking at we were in shock we couldn't explain it. It was just some flying yellow objects they were flying in the air so quick we couldn’t comprehend what we saw. I thought they were bees or some swarm of large insects. I was so utterly baffled at what it could be I was terrified then I saw them stop It was them. The swarm of what I thought were bees were the tribe of bright yellow birds coming to take their inhabitant back I could see they were talking to each other then the flock left. Somehow I don’t know how the bird was able to communicate with me and he said in my head You must protect me they are going to take me back to the tribe help. I was so amazed at this that I almost fell over. Yes,yes I can talk our bird type is so rare and we only talk to people in their heads when we imprint on them. I know this is hard to understand but I am actually talking to you and you need to help or else they’ll take me back to the tribe somehow. We are a very strategic tribe and they think you kidnapped me even when I tried to explain the tribe leader wouldn’t listen. He will bring back at all costs stop them!! I was so perplexed by this situation but I knew I was going to go to the leader and fight for this birdy’s freedom. The next day I stormed over to the tree and I stopped right in my tracks. I didn’t realize how many birds there were. I couldn’t tell who the leader was but I said in a very firm voice,”Speak! My name is Eli Kristov Adams. I am now the owner of the bird in your tribe! He has imprinted on me and he refuses to leave. I did not kidnap him he chose to live with me for the past month and now he loves me and he will not willingly leave. I demand you to stop trying to take him. Whoever your leader is I would like to speak with him now.” It was the bravest thing i’ve ever done. A little bird hopped out and he said one thing in my mind, No. After that I went in rage mode. I grabbed a stick and I started screaming and doing a little angry dance that I think offended them because they started squeaking and yelling in my head NO, NO, NO!!!! “You like that do ya? Ha! I found your weakness give up now before I keep doing the dance!” No, you have greatly offended us! We have had tolerance for humans for years! But now… Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. Then out of no where came a downpour of rain. The birds didn’t watch the weather forecast but I did. I planned for this I brought an umbrella and a raincoat and the birds were getting soaked I smiled smugly at them and they showed no emotion like birds should Ha! You think we care we’ll just go inside our tree and… Crack! Lighting destroyed the tree now they were all on the ground in the pouring rain. Um can we crash at your place for a while? No matter how much I didn’t want to help them I took pity on them. I don't know why I should’ve but I did. These poor intelligent animals had nowhere to run. No where to go it was so sad. The birds now permanently live in my room. I don't know how much longer I can keep it a secret from my mom and dad but I know it won’t be long. A bird wanted to go into the kitchen to try and get a snack by himself. My dad saw it but he must have thought he was hallucinating because he looked up shook his head and went back to reading the newspaper. No matter how much my mom won’t want these birds I know that they will stay. I’ll find a way. I always do.
This one was more like creatures that would normally appear here. This one was not clad with long and flowing hair, and it had on different apparel, compared to the other being, which had turned around and was now looking at the noisy being. As it came up to the other being it started making loud noises, and the creature that was sitting seemed confused at first, but reluctantly gave up the spot on the grass and moved away. The being must have scared the other one away, but I had no clue as to why. The creature proceeded to move onto the path of rocks that moved along the grass, it followed this path for a while and I followed it, flying around the creature. It looked frustrated at first, as if it had lost its train of thought. I wonder if these animals could think, I thought to myself, and if they could, what were they thinking about. As it seemed to shrug this off, it began to look pleased
they think nothing of it until they discover the bird. He was found wrapped in a
Chickens have to endure suffering that no living thing should have to go through. The egg laying chickens have to be forced into tiny cages without enough room to stretch their wings. Up to 8 hens are crammed in to a cage that is the size of a folded newspaper, about 11"-14". Stress from the confinement leads to severe feather loss so the chicken will be almost completely bald in the cold cages. When the chickens are of egg-laying age, there beaks are cut off without any pain killers to ease the pain, they do this so the chickens don’t break their own eggs and eat them because the chickens are hungry.
Peters finds the bird cage, it is empty. This bird cage never actually had a bird in it. In paragraph 218, Mrs. Hale finds the canary has croaked: “‘There’s something wrapped up in this piece of silk,’ faltered Mrs. Hale. ‘This isn’t her scissors,’ said Mrs. Peters, in a shrinking voice. Her hand not steady, Mrs. Hale raised the piece of silk. ‘Oh, Mrs. Peters!’ she cried. ‘It’s—’ Mrs. Peters bent closer. ‘It’s the bird,’ she whispered. ‘But, Mrs. Peters!’ cried Mrs. Hale. ´Look at it! Its neck—look at its neck! It’s all—other side to.’”(Glaspell). Sadly, the bird was strangled, and I think that Mr. Wright did it. Mrs. Wright clearly loved her feathered friend. After it was killed, she wrapped it in a square of silk. Back then, silk was very expensive even for a little piece like that. Mrs. Hale explains how Millie loved to sing, and this bird must remind her of when she was happy. Mr. John Wright was not very happy with this bird. If he could stop his wife from singing and being happy, he could surely stop a little bird. So Wright goes into the room and snaps its neck, destroying his wife’s most prized
The broken bird cage was a vital clue for whoever killed Mr. Wright. In the text, the author says how, “Mrs. Peters was examining the bird-cage. “Look at this door,” she said slowly. “It’s broke. Someone pulled apart the cage hinge.” Bird cages are pretty easy
Gouldian finches need special treatment if they are in colder places like Europe and Canada.
As I walked back from the market, I stop by my neighbor and friend's house, Ngoc, to say hello to her. Her little brother, Tuan, was one of the victims of the avian flu, but unfortunately, he did not make it. I came inside her house and went to her back yard where she is holding a chicken that her father had just killed, while on the floor, there are more than 150 dead birds laying on the ground.
...ugh being a child. By hearing the birds it’s a sign that doing the right thing is not only moral but the right and just thing to do.
“What is that?” Jan asked. Her daughter came flying through the house with something tiny in her hand. The daughter ignored Jan who was sitting at the kitchen table and beelined straight to her husband. “We have to go to the store!” the daughter demanded. While as small argument ensued between her husband and her daughter, Jan strained to see the small object in her daughter’s hand. She was quickly able to determine what it was and let out a shriek of terror. “GET IT OUT!” Jan demanded. “But mom” said the daughter. “NO BUTS!” Jan sharply replied. In her daughters’ hand was a little bird with no feathers.
I had heard of birds feigning a broken wing in order to lure intruders away from their nest. After what seemed like eons of waiting, this behavior finally manifested itself in a neglected pasture littered with tansy, bull thistles, and piles of ancient, petrified horse manure. The killdeer had been crying out its shrill warning for sometime when, suddenly, it appeared with its wing askew, looking quite broken. Mesmerized, I watched as the fearless mother valiantly attempted to lead me away from her nearby nest.
I went to bed that night when I woke up I was feeling pain all over my body, I felt really warm but I didn't have any covers on. I looked at my legs,Tini hairs started to pop out of my arms and legs. The hairs were black and yellow they were in a stripe pattern. I felt this really bad pain in my shoulders and went to go look in the mirror and I found wings on my back with lots of colors and different patterns. My head started to hurt really bad and I passed out! When I woke up again I felt something on my head twitching back and forth. I reached up to scratch my head and I felt antennas. They were gray with black stripes. I was so scared. I forgot to tell you I was going to go sit down and try to figure out what was happening as I was going
I was more energized than normal, I woke up on time without the feeling of fatigue. I was standing in the mirror doing my hair. When I suddenly heard a small noise and I believed it to be a bird flapping its wings. I then looked over and noticed a hummingbird flying in one spot, trying to rest on my window ledge. I immediately panicked and scared the bird away. I was so terrified of it, I wasn’t clear of its intentions and why would it be trying to fly into my window. I had never discussed the appearance of the bird over with my mother. I never told anyone actually. I just went on with my day.
I was snuggled up in my little house built in the mud until I heard something strange. It was a growl of some sort, but it wasn’t like anything I heard before. The growl started getting louder and closer, which freaked me out a lot. I know I wasn’t supposed to leave my pen, but I got scared and started to run. I kept running until I could barley see my pen then I decided that I was enough to stop. I stood in the middle of no where trying to catch my breath until I heard growling behind a bush. Slowly a dark figure came out and began to creep up on me. I could only see parts of the figure. I noticed his red, bloody beady eye, his arched body almost like he was ready to pounce at me and his sharp, dangerous teeth. “Hello? Is anyone there?” I said. No answer. ”My friends are just up that hill and they will be here any second!” I exclaimed. “You’re friends won’t help you now.” The figure said furiously. “And why is that?” I said. “Because I’m the one they are hiding from.” He said. “A-are you scar?” I said petrified. No answer. “HELP!” I screamed. He slowly got closer to me and I was cornered. He was way faster then me. More vicious. I had no chance against him. Scar tried to attack but Birch comes out and attack’s him. Nester comes out with a lantern they all notice he was not that scary he was this small wolf that looked very weak but he just tried to have to this big voice, and that’s why he only came out at night so they couldn’t see what he really looked like. All the animals started to laugh and Nester kicks him in the face and threatens him to never come back. They all feel relieved and now they know they are all safe. The farmer returns home, he went to check on all the animals to make sure they had food and water and to make sure they had no injuries. While the farmer was looking they all smiled at each other and realized they had nothing to be worried about anymore when Mr.
In October of 2011, my life changed forever and would never be the same. The day started off just like any other fall day, except there was excitement in the air for what was to come later that night. Halloween was just around the corner and the time was here for me to finally get to join my sister and her friends for their Halloween tradition. I was nervous to the point of butterflies in my stomach, and I could not hold still. My entire body was alive with part excitement and part fear. I had no idea what to expect, but what happened was beyond anything I could ever have imagined. We were going on a haunted trail.
I tried to run, but it was too dark out. The creature had bright yellow eyes, it was getting bigger and bigger, closer and closer. Soon it became clear to me what this thing really was. But then something else hit me…
