A Trip to the Bahamas The Exuma Cays in the Bahamas looked like paradise when we first saw them from the plane. The water was a sapphire blue color, so bright it almost seemed unreal. All I could think about is how amazing God’s creation truly is. As soon as we landed, we could not wait to get our trip started, which included a boat tour, exploring some beautiful beaches, and dealing with an unexpected storm that turned our trip into an unforgettable experience. From the moment we got on the boat, we met an amazing crew that made our boat trip the highlight of our trip. From the moment we left the doc and got out to the sandbar, the water was crystal clear. They were kind of scary, but they were pretty cool. The whole time my dad was trying to pick one up, but one ended up scratching his arm. Each new location was different, from the pink sand of Pink Sands Beach to the quiet, peaceful shores of Stocking Island. One of the coolest parts of our trip was exploring the Thunderball Grotto. We first had to jump out of the boat and swim around the rocks to get inside. Once you got inside the cave, it was huge and really open. It was deep with a lot of fish and coral. My mom and I swam all the way to the bottom to see if we could touch the sand, both of our ears popped when we came up from it being so deep. After we got back in the boat and stopped for lunch, we drove to the next location. We had so much fun talking to the crew. He was letting me play music on his phone, and everyone was singing along. But then, out of nowhere, the weather took a turn. The sky got dark, and it started to rain. The calm and beautiful day we had been enjoying quickly turned into a stormy mess. Waves crashed against our boat, and rain started to pour. We ended up parking under some cave to let it calm
