As a child, my dream was to be a doctor someday. I like how doctors heal those who are sick and I like seeing operations. But one fun fact is that I hate blood. Even on small bruises, I tend to get disgusted. But that dream only lasted in a short span of time. I get to know a profession called Accountant. At those times, I really liked numbers, I loved solving basic mathematical operations. In tenth grade, we were often asked “What career would you chose?”, “Will it help you?”. “Do you really want that?”. Those questions kept meddling in my mind, made me realize some things and made me confused. Good thing there is Senior High School Program. Here we have to choose a track based on our interest and skills so that we would be prepared if
When I am older I would love to be a Nurse Practitioner, I enjoy helping people when they are sick and taking care of them. Another reason I want to be a Nurse Practitioner is because my sister is also a Nurse Practitioner.
Today must've been the busiest day I've ever experienced at this office. There were so many patients. They all waited at least 3 hours just to be seen by the doctor. The good thing is the office closed at noon so everyone usually was able to make it their shift at work. I got a lot of experience assisting in extractions. I worked with the same doctor I usually work with. She's very nice to me and always requests me when I come in to assist. I interacted with the hygienist, dental assistants (which were just pre-dental volunteers), and the front desk assistant. Everyone had such a good spirit today. There is a dentist that often acts as a dental assistant, which makes things easier because she teaches us about how to prep for procedures and
I have searched the entire web with no success looking for a story that I can relate to. I read many great stories and they were all inspiriting in their special ways, some were very closed to my story, and they were closed to bring tears into my eyes, yet they were not close enough. I search for months, until I realized that we all had a unique story.
I find myself privileged as I am the first generation from my family to complete Bachelor Degree. Therefore, "reaching perfection through adversity" is what inspired my journey of Physician Assistant studies. I am originally from small South-Asian country called Nepal, where I completed my High School education with science major. As a science student, I was always curious to know the cause, symptoms, prevention, and precaution of diseases. Unconsciously, I was trying to pursue medical profession. With a strong desire to help community and undeserved population, I got associated with organizations like: Red Cross and Rotary International during my High School education where I worked as a volunteer. These further strengthen my endeavor to pursue career in medical sector.
I want to be a physician assistant. I am interested in this career because I like how physician assistants can work in several different specialties. This will give me choices to change my specialty if I do not like the one that I originally choose. Also, I have always been a lifetime learner and I would like to try out different specialties. This will help me to gain more knowledge. After working as a physician assistant, If I decide to become a doctor then I can do that too. I love working with patients. Being a physician assistant would help me to interact more with people and will give me a chance to help others.
I grew up in a research and development campus where my father is a scientist. Research and curiosity were constantly encouraged and this prompted me to take up medicine as a career, a field that offers tremendous prospects for research and discoveries. Throughout medical school I tried to be involved in research and attempts at trying out new ideas, be it in the lab or working with human subjects. I carried this through my residency and now my fellowship. The idea of studying a topic or issue that has so far not been treaded upon seems to be extremely exciting and challenging.
I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. I have the opportunity of meeting new people every day with a variety of personalities. There is always something new to discover in this field. A nurse practitioner's job is to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses. They also prescribe medicine and run physical exams. I am highly interested in pursuing the career of a nurse practitioner because the healthcare field is always in need for medical professionals, it pays well, and I am helping people at the same time.
Both my current job and are dream jobs are in the medical field they are very similar yet different. For example, my job now is a certified nursing assistant and my dream job is to become a registered nurse. Both jobs consist of taking guardianship of people providing hands-on work, comfort care, and compassion. My dream is to further my career from a nurse assistant and become a nurse that does more for people in the world.
The process of life begins with a wish. Throughout childhood we are constantly asked what we wish to become when we grow up. Usually the answer is a Doctor or Vet. This was my answer as well. Then I became ill and my life suddenly was altered. I became the girl who was gone almost everyday due to an elusive illness. My illness changed who I was and made me want to help others the way I was helped. I wish to become a Nurse. The process of getting there was not easy. I had to deal with tough things such as missing school, working through my illness, and those things led me to my aspirations today.
When I was younger, I always imagined having a job helping others in the medical profession. My favorite quote is by Ralph Waldo Emerson, which states," The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." This is perfect to me because I hope to live my life this way. I would always think about what my future would look like, because I always try to plan ahead. High school was the time in my life when I started to process what I really wanted to do as my future career. Many life experiences that I faced helped me make the decision on wanting to become a Physician Assistant.
I want to be an Emergency Room physician. I feel that I can handle stress well and am able to make good decisions quickly. I strive to always find ways to improve and challenge myself. I am able to excel in everything that I put my mind to. I am interested in finding new ways to improve the lives of others
My dream career would be: Becoming a nurse. Nurses help people in many different ways. They work at a fast, but focused pace; work side by side with Doctors and surgeons. Nursing has been a dream of mine for many years. There are many different kinds of nurses. The nurse I would strictly want to become is a nurse specialized in geriatrics, taking care of people with dementia. To work in this field you have to have an understanding of what is all involved. To be able to understand all aspects of the different kinds
As a youthful teen I then wanted to be a doctor, saving people's lives. Although my dreams changed one thing that never changed was what I did not want to be. My disinterest in working directly with pests and rodents, accessing infested locations and removing dead rodents after examination is why I could never be a Pest Control
For Steve Jobs, he declares, “ I was lucky- I found what I loved to do early in life” (Jobs 11). Students normally have the most trouble finding out what they want to pursue in their future. Some do it because their family tells them too and others want to explore the best of their options. Regardless, as long as they find what they like, it adds another reason to why they wake up everyday.
For a senior high school student, the most struggling question can not be found in their final examinations, nor in discussions whenever your teacher asks you during recitations. It is not what your guidance counsellor asked you once, when you were in a big trouble. For a fourth year high school student, deciding what course they should take up the time they enter college was the biggest turning point in their life for this is where their future lies into. It is like the biggest decision you have to do in your life because it is not just some silly question you have to answer by yes or no. It is not the type of question that you can answer in just a snap of a finger. It would take up a lot of time since there are things you still have to consider before making a decision, considering your interest. It is the most important thing you have to consider because once you have decided what course to take up and it is not what you were even interested into, there is a chance that it might affect you and your performance in school. You also have to consider your family’s opinion too, even what kind of career it will provide you once you graduated in college. Things like that can easily affect your decision making. That is why it was never easy to respond to the question “what course are you taking up in college?” Choosing the right course is like finding for your other half, because the career you have chosen will be bind to you for a lifetime. It is like there was a contract between the two of you that once broken, you will end up building another one again. Once you feel like it was not the right career for you, you have to start from scratch again and it would take a lot of time. That is why it is very bold for all the women who picke...
