On a warm summer night, on August 12, 2016; I was home with my bestfriend. That night something that will never leave our memories happened to us, it was the worst event we had ever experienced in our lives. Late that night my parents went to Nashville to get something from Wal-Mart. After they left it was just me and Jaiden. We done what we usually do, sit around eat everything in site and and watch scary movies on Netflix. It was around ten or so and I get a text from my mom. She said, ¨ Kevin and I are stuck in traffic because there was a very bad wreck. We prolly won’t make it home until like two in the morning.” So I stopped the movie and told Jaiden. After that, we finished watching the movie and Jaiden said that she wanted something

It was August 2012, my family and I were back to school shopping at Jcpenney. At the time I was 13 years old. Never have I had such a heart dropping experience like the one I had in Jcpenney.
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
August 14, 2003 was one of the worst days of my life, period. That Thursday will never be forgotten.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
When the end of my 5th grade year had hit; A land mark of the most traumatizing event of my life was about to take place. My mom had left my father and took us along with her. Over the summer and a few addit...
It happened on May 5, 2015, my sophomore year of high school. My day happened as usual. I got up, I went to school, and I got off the bus. It was hot that day, my back burned and dampened with sweat, caused by the hot Texas sun. I came in and threw my neon orange backpack down exhausted by the short walk from the bus stop to my back door. After getting inside, I grabbed my dog's leash and hooked it to her collar to drag her outside and walk her. We slowly made our way back inside after she finished taking her time and doing her business. I walked inside and checked the time displayed below the television and walked to the kitchen to fill the black kettle
On June 27, 2015, my entire life flashed before my eyes. I never could have anticipated what that particular day had in store for me and my best friend, Virginia. It was the day after my birthday and I felt the excitement built up in my chest as we drove to Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate on the beach. It was our last summer together before we both headed off to college and all I hoped for were a few last joyful moments spent soaking up the sun before we had to part ways. I thought the trip would be unforgettable, and I was right.
Nothing could be worst than your dad bringing up "THE CONVERSATION." Starting at age 5 I loved playing soccer, running up and down the field, making moves and kicking balls to the back of the net was always the way to go. Soccer meant the world to me and especially playing with my best friends since the day I started. My days would go something like this, go to school, get home,do homework then get ready and go to a beautiful fun day at soccer! After soccer I would go home sit on the couch and eat.I was a lazy one. That's why I hoped my dad would never ever bring up this conversation.... But he did anyways.
SWISH! I turn my head to the right with a grin and see my mom cheering as I scored my first points of the season. The last game of the season I scored my first points of my middle school basketball “career.” Now sit back and relax as you read the story of how I got my first points in middle school basketball.
Leaving the bodies for last we walked down the drive to take a look. Several rifles and shotguns were leaned carefully again the big oak. Two handguns and some knives were on the grass in front of them. Four people dangled from a branch of the tree close enough to each other to bump like a weird wind chime. A young couple and the other twice their age at a guess from the gray hair and styles of dress. They were probably parents and a married son or daughter with their spouse. Other than being hung there were no injuries apparent on any of the four. From the condition of the bodies they had been dead about a day.
Growing up, my parents owned and operated a successful small business. As crafting trends changed and scrapbooking went online, they were forced to file bankruptcy – both personal and business – in 2013. I was just starting high school and realized the repercussions this would cause on my plan. I have always planned on pursuing higher education and realized that any hope of financial support from my parents was dismal. I poured myself into school, finding a new motivation in the realization that great grades would lead to scholarships. I found a new job as a night manager at a local grocery store. That job benefited my family in multiple ways as it provided me with a steady income – meager, but consistent- and helped with food insecurities
Once again I was asleep the whole time because I was a little tired from traveling. When I was awake I looked out the window and saw the beautiful mountains and rivers that were right next to me and was admiring the view. Time passed and we finally arrive at their house. Before the car engine even stops I hop out of the car and go hug all my aunts, uncles, and cousins who are waiting for us outside. Everyone was so happy and laughing and the energy was just an indescribable
I sat and waited for the bell. Overwhelmed with all the homework I had, I almost didn’t want to leave. Watching Tony Rusher and his possy plan for mischief night was getting boring, so I started to daydream. In the blink of an eye, everyone was gone. I guess I just had gotten used to the bell. I grabbed my stuff, I headed out the door. A minute or two must have gone by, because I was one of the only people left in the hall, and they were playing that annoying song.
At the time I was a teenager, kicking my way through autumn leaves on my way home from school, when I suddenly discovered someone in front of me, directly in front of my path. Shocked, I looked down. A patch of brown, scaly skin could be seen from under the muggy, dense leaves. I could feel blood rush to my head, and I jumped! I stepped away in horror, my mind racing for the right way to handle this situation, that seemed to be otherworldly….so I ran.
