My childhood explains not only my personal goals for my education but also my professional life in the future. I’m Going to attend Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois the fall of 2016. This allows me to be able to come home, support my siblings and family when they need me. Getting a higher education, I aim to earn an internship as an Athletic Trainer or Sports Nutritionist through a sports team with Lewis. This will allow me to travel with the team for a goal that it will turn into a job opportunity. Two to three years into my professional life I hope I’ve raised enough money to live in a city almost like Beloit. Small but not too small, good diversity, and beautiful. Growing up, I have always been in two sports at a time. No matter …show more content…
Getting my major in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition/Deities, would help me become an Athletic Trainer and/or a Sports Nutritionist. I started to figure out that with difficult sports like hockey it is hard for a trainer to understand why we move how we do. Whether it is on or off the ice, it is like this for many other sports also. Coming from a difficult sport like hockey and playing multiple other sports. I understand a bit more were that athlete is coming from compared to other trainers who have never played that sport before. While I’m in college, I would like to earn an internship with either my school, local sport team athletic trainer, or nutritionist. In Order to do this, I will stay on track with all my schooling and volunteer at a hospital. I will earn a job with the athletic trainer for my work study job. Doing this I will not only be helping out the community and school athletes but also learning more hands on. Reaching my goals and helping out my community in either of these fields would not only help me learn even more, but it would help me become more …show more content…
Upon earning an internship in college that should either help me get a better job or assist me to earn one at a company. In my Future career, I would like to be with a big team or company. Spending time with athletes and helping the injured will be the best feeling I could ever ask for. If I can not be a trainer, I would try to earn a job that is in my career field. If I am still working in the field that I would love and enjoy to be in, that would be okay by me. I know I will not stop working hard until I get the perfect career I am passionate
As I reflect on my college life, I wonder about the choices I have made that have led me to where I am today and that will guide me into shaping who I long to become. The things I have had to sacrifice, the support and experiences I have had with family, friends, strangers and work colleagues. I don’t know what I will be doing three months or thirty years from now but I do know that I want to have new experiences. When I graduated from high school, I knew I didn’t want to be that person that moved back to the same town and stayed there for the rest of my life. I even contemplate leaving the United States in my adult life. Who really knows, maybe those cards are still in the deck. For now, I know my immediate goals include focusing on completing my college education the best I can, and moving away from my comfort zone, broadening my horizons and taken risks.

I would like to enter the University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program on the basis that I love being around sports and I enjoy working with and taking care of athletes. I first became interested in Athletic Training when I was given a tour of the UNC Athletic Training facility by Kevin Guskiewicz, who is the current dean of UNC College of Arts and Sciences. He was the previous head Athletic Trainer for UNC. After the experience, I quickly enrolled in Athletic Training classes in high school and began to learn the basics for becoming an Athletic Trainer. I loved learning about different injuries and how to treat them because as a student athlete I am very accident prone and figuring out what is wrong with my body is important for my collegiate athletic career. I have also had a dream of working with professional athletes. I have been involved with sports my whole life and have always considered these professional athletes as my role models. By entering University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I
Mario Andretti once said, “Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” Andretti’s words are as true today as when he spoke them. Everyday should be a continuous journey to get to your goal. Starting off with the right step is a major component. Therefore, I chose to apply to Stanly Early College High. I believe that I have the ability to work up to Stanly Early College standards. Determination, dedication, and desire are all qualities that I have.
I intend to work as a female Athletic Trainer for a major league soccer team, specifically, the Houston Dynamo. For this, I have made sure that I am getting supplemental experience with soccer, like working for the UNCW Men’s Soccer team, job shadowing the Lady Carolina Dynamo Athletic Trainer in Greensboro, NC, and working with the UNCW youth soccer camps here in Wilmington. After completing my doctoral work I will be equipped to work at such a high level, therefore I will continue breaking the barriers for the many female Athletic Trainers to
In conclusion, I want to be an athletic trainer when I get older. The school that I go to has a partnership with my local football team, Ridgeview Wolfpack. I have to visit their company for a day, that way, I can obtain a better understanding of the career I have chosen. It is possible that I can get big in that career that I have chosen, Then I may go and help out with a famous sports team. This is the career that I am hoping that I get when I get out of school. Ever since I have been playing sports I thought it would be amazing to work with Pro players. I would be working with the players that everybody dreams
but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it. Sports medicine involves athletes who are constantly training to be in the best physical shape they can be in. It involves athletes with rehabilitation and supplements that they can take to help either recover faster or to help them perform better on their playing field. A lot of high caliber athletes such as olympians are involved in sports medicine, because it is able to get you back into your sport, faster and with less likelihood of re-injury.
During high school my teachers lectured my classmates and I on goal making. I specifically remember my health teacher using the SMART method; this says goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Even though I had a great resource to make smart goals for myself, I never took the time to construct a game plan. Entering the vast new world of college, I want to improve myself by keeping several goals in mind each month, week, and day. My process starts by creating intellectual, psycho-emotional, physical, and social goals to work towards in my four years of college.
I first became interested in athletic training during my freshman year of high school when I tore my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). My athletic trainer was extremely helpful and comforting when this happened. Then, I was able to work with him through the rehabilitation process. Through all of this, my interest in sports medicine sparked and I began to consider athletic training as a profession. During the rest of my high school career, I learned about athletic training through first and second hand experiences. I had a couple more injuries where I was able to work with the school's athletic trainer and got the chance to understand what athletic training actually entails. Also, with being on various sports teams, I had several teammates
Educational Goals: Education is extremely important part of my past, present, and future goals. I currently hold an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design Media. I have found that an A.A.S Degree does not go as far al I originally intended in the Rochester, MN area and furthering my education will be a necessity for my future career goals. Over the past 2 years I have been working on my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the Minnesota School of Business Rochester campus. I am currently a senior with 3 quarters left before a spring graduation. After a June graduation, I plan on taking a summer quarter break. After summer break I will either continue on at MSB for my Masters in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing or transferring the University of Minnesota for my Masters in Adult Education. After my Masters Degree is complete I will decide at that time if I wish to continue on and achieve my Ph.D.
I no longer view work in this industry as unattainable and as daunting. I have seen that if you work hard and are willing to seek help and are humble you will succeed in this career. I aim to improve on many skills as I approach graduation and entering into my career field. I aim to improve on being more efficient with my time at work, making sure I am dressed professionally, arriving on time, even if I do not have set hours, and be willing to seek out others and ask for specific ways I can improve my job performance. This internship has influenced my career goals immensely. It is the first step in starting my career in the sport industry and it has shown me a lot about sales, fundraising, promoting, marketing, and putting on special events. Learning things in the classroom, such as fans want a unique experience while attending sporting events, and how your first position in the industry often starts with sales and learning how to sell, have really helped me with my internship because I got to see the things I have been learning in class be played out in person in my
What will I do for the rest of my life? Every person asks this question at some stage of their life, usually during their later teenage years. As a high school junior, I am now asking myself this question. After considerable thought, I have devised a tentative plan for my future. I realize that some of these plans and goals may change over time, but with a plan, the first steps of the journey can begin. To prepare me for the journey, I have taken very challenging high school curriculum, such as Honors and Advanced Placement courses. These classes will not only assist in my admission to college, but have also helped me to develop strong study skills and time management.
Since a very young age I've been through a lot of hard times and struggles. I moved many times as a child to a lot of different places and growing up the youngest out of five children which was pretty rough for me. My mother was also a single parent and did all she could for us without any of my father's help. One of my biggest struggles was when my mom passed away from a terminal disease called sarcoidosis on March 20, 2011. I have been trying my hardest to reach my goals to make her proud. I am determined to accomplish my long and short term goals for a better life in my near future for me and my loved ones.
Future goals a daunting yet exciting word one everyone asks you from the first day of school to a conversation starter. This question was always hard for me to answer, it always made me ponder what do I want to achieve with my life. Although the answer was always right in front of me. The summer after sixth grade my mother forced me to participate in a Vex robotics class through College of the Desert even with my strong protests. A few hours in I felt as if what I was doing just clicked. And I could visualize in my mind what I wanted to create before creating the robot in mind. My first robot I created without instructions was a two wheeler robot and much to my surprise the instructor informed me that I was his first student to construct a
My dream job in the future would be professional football player. I have loved the game of football since I was a little kid because it’s a good sport and you can tackle the player and catch and do anything in the sport as long as you follow the rules. The colleges that I’m looking forward to go to are UNC, Oregon, or Appalachian State.
