Brought up in a competitive environment and a family that believes in a value system backed by my curiosity towards computer technology, I was first introduced to Computers when my daily experimentations on my neighbor’s PC influenced my parents who got me a computer. Cracking puzzles, solving problems have always intrigued me and the fields involving logic and application of the technology have always been my areas of interest. One of my cousins had pursued a degree in Computers for undergraduate studies followed by a Master’s degree from a reputed American University. The amount of the knowledge she had amassed in the whole journey left me infatuated and that was the time I seriously decided that I too would be a part of this venture. The past few decades of mankind are marked with the advent of multiple innovations, advancing in to the unknown realms of science and technology. This advancement majorly inclined to make life easy and to increase human comfort; computers are an integral part of these inventions. The advancement of computers in the field of technology have not only brought out great improvements in the fields of communication and information storage but also enhanced the productivity and efficiency of working. During the four years of my curriculum I was introduced to various courses which laid a strong foundation for both my Hardware and Software fundamentals. The subjects that mainly captured my interest were Computer Networks and Database Management. I was deeply fascinated while learning about the world of Internet involving how communication took place through the various computers interconnected with each other irrespective of the distance between them. Having the opportunity to receive funds to pay for my college tuition is a societal value that influences my behavior. I come from a country that only the rich can attend college because there is no financial aid or scholarships that can help the poor attend college. However, living in a country where all those opportunities are available, it is impossible to not take advantage of the opportunity.
