As I stepped in the batting box and watched as the pitcher got ready to throw the ball I took a deep breathe as I thought if I would hit the ball. The ball is thrown and coming to me and as I swing my bat and watched the ball coming and closer and closer to the bat I heard a sound from the bat as I hit the ball. I went to a blank space in my head as I saw myself with my personal dream, seeing myself in the future continuing playing baseball showing off one of my talents I have found in myself . That moment and the feeling of discovering my talent and accomplishment arrived in a big rush from all my other teammates on the team cheering.
I couldn’t believe my ears and sound of cheering from my whole baseball team while the opponent was in total disarray of shock. As I watched myself in the replay in my mind of hitting the ball I saw in myself that I said to myself “ Swing with confidence and you would hit the ball” As I kept this quote in my head and adapted it for, I can use it without playing baseball for keeping my head focused in school or anytime of situation I would need to use it when I have a high amount of pressure from it, without giving up my confidence.
I wasn’t a sport player I was just a person who liked school because you would get to learn new things and I would be interested

The impact of music influence or motivates me by making me feel relaxed and I can distract myself from the world. The music genre that influenced me the most is K-Pop and J-Pop because the type of influence I get is I can express myself through music that when I started to compose my own music during my free time. While I compose my own music I always think to myself if I should audition with one of the top music labels in
It was our last game of pool play on the second day of the tournament, and the other team’s pitcher was a friend of mine so I was excited to go against her. It had been a long day so I wasn’t in the field, but my coach left me in the batting line up. A few innings in it was my turn to bat, so I jogged out on the field, calm and confident that I would do well. After a few pitches I ended up with two strikes on me and I was getting nervous about the outcome of my at bat. The next pitch came and I made solid contact, so on instinct I started my sprint towards first base.
With about 83 players currently to in the MLB, 682 players since 1950, and so far 2 players in the Hall of Fame with much more to get inducted, it’s clear that the Dominican Republic dominates the game of baseball. In the Dominican Republic, baseball is the country’s pastime and official sport. Baseball doesn’t discriminate, regardless of gender, race, and economic status. In my personal view, baseball runs in the blood and embedded in the genetic coding of Dominicans. As a person whose mother and father are Dominican and born and raised in Miami, there seems to be little to nothing that connects me to their culture. Nonetheless, this Miami-born Dominican- American is proud to say that the sport I love the most can connect me to the Dominican
Standing in the batter box, anxious. Looking forward I see the pitching machine signaling green. First ball comes almost nailing me in the thighs, but lucky enough I was able to get out quickly. I wasn’t ready for such a fastball. I just kept my cool and kept swinging. And that was when I heard “CLANG!”, my first ball hit went straight back at the pitching machine.
Music is a large consumption of my daily life and the artists I listen to have shaped me in some way. Listening to music is one of my most time
Right when I realized it is important for me to not just play for fun, I started to play less video games, and do more Baseball practices. My dad would always tell me it’s not good to play video games, because they cannot help you, but baseball can help you succeed in life. This really changed my view on what Baseball potentially has.
As I lay on my bed, that night I could still hear the umpire calling “ballgame” and solidifying victory and our mark on Mountain Grove Softball history. The adrenaline and excitement of the moment were still running through my veins as my mind started to drift. I soon found myself thinking of
The announcer began announcing our team to start the introduction for the game. Since I was the lead-off batter, my name was echoed over the park first. It was at this time that the feeling elevated; the feeling that makes every baseball field so special. As my teammates yelled for me, while I ran to the nearest baseline and faced the crowd, the feeling gave me goose bumps and raised the hairs on the back of my neck. The feeling is so amazing that it will keep me playing baseball for as long as possible because it makes my love for the sport that much more. I can't even begin to explain the complex feeling I get when I walk on a baseball field, but that feeling will always be cherished and hopefully when I pass on my love of baseball to others, they will too understand what that special diamond makes me feel like.
Along the rocky road that is my softball career, my team and I have learned quite a few lessons. Not only did we get to know each other and the game of softball, we were also taught about life. We learned that to get where we wanted to be, we had to push ourselves, constantly practicing and working hard. Our team also had to overcome our many obstacles through perseverance. Another thing we had to learn was how to believe in ourselves and each other. As a player on that team, these things that the game has taught us- working hard, persevering, and believing- have become my laws of life.
Growing up, I have always had a passion for baseball. To me, it is much more than just a sport. There have been times when it has acted as an escape from many problems in my life, as I feel that when I am on the diamond, nothing can hurt me. I am aware that many people feel this way about the sport they love, but sadly their careers often come to an abrupt end due to injury. I have a personal connection to this experience. The summer before my fourth grade year I was attending a basketball camp at Davidson College, when in the final seconds of a scrimmage game, my ankle was kicked out from under me. I immediately fell to the ground in pain as my ankle rolled over on itself. Coaches aided me in limping off of the court and to the training room
With seconds to spare I arrived at batting practice and began to prepare for my game. I hear coach call out my name and as I he acknowledged that I was there he told me I was pitching. My brain shifted and went into a whole new mode, I was more focused and more determined than I have ever been. This was the biggest baseball game of my career and I 'm starting on the mound. Honestly it couldn 't have turned out any better, the fate of the pin and my team lied in my hands and I loved the pressure. The pressure made me thrive and before I knew it our team was marching onto the field for the national anthem. During the singing of the national anthem I peeked into the crowd and first row down the first base side was the little boy I met on the cart and his dad sitting right next to him. This game was for that little boy, I needed to impress him. I pitched six strong innings and my team ended up winning the game. It was the most exciting game of my career and the best part was being greeted with the best pin in the tournament after such a spectacular win. The little boy ran out into the middle of the field where we shook our opponents hands and in front of everyone in the stadium handed me the only thing I cared about besides winning. I was in the best mood for the rest of the day and I rewarded myself with a nice long sleep. I could only image what the next day had to
There I was walking to see who made the softball team. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach, worried that I would not make the team. As I looked at the names nervously, I could feel goosebumps appearing on my arms. To my surprise my name was on the list and I could not have been happier.
Baseball taught me a lot of things, but one of the most important was to take care of myself. Taking care of myself takes many different forms. From eating healthier to exercising, I gained the good habits I have today from baseball. When I played baseball, I had to keep in shape every day. Whether it was 3 hours or 30 minutes,
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
Music has remarkably influenced human being in various ways since the early ages. In fact, every known culture on earth has music throughout the course of their history. As for my own history, my encounter of music would be the daily drive to school with my father. Whenever he turns the radio on, songs were being played and unknowingly, my feet were then tapping with the rhythm of the upbeat song. Since then, it has developed a sense of hunger in me, having to understand how music can significantly affect the human body and mind.
I saw the catcher fire the ball down the chalk line to third so I slid into the bag and felt the tag. “Safe” the other umpire yelled as loud as he could. I get up and I hear a lot of screaming and clapping from all of the parents and teammates. One thing I knew was that play was because of all effort , time, and mostly hard work because I never quit when things got
