There are three things in my life that have shaped my personality; my parents, my best friend Lacy, and him. Like all parents, mine have been here for me since the day I was born. They’ve created the best environment possible for my sister and I; they’ve given me everything I needed and a little more. My parents have taught me not to chase after dogs onto the highway. They’ve shown me how a lady acts and taught me the difference in being truthful and being rude. My parent even led me to the girl who’s changed my whole perspective on life. When I met Lacy Searcy, the first thing she ever said to me was, “You’re stupid,” her words were harsh and spiteful, but for some reason, she became my friend immediately afterwards. I was eight years old, sitting on the floor of the daycare. This day was going to determine if I wanted to continue going to this daycare, and immediately I didn’t want to come back. My sister was separated from me, and that unsettled me greatly. She was the only girl I really spoke to, and all my friends at that time …show more content…
He was close to my face like he wanted to kiss me, but when I tried to pull away he gripped my arm to tight, a symbol and silent order for me not to leave. I was scared beyond belief, and then he said something that changed me. “I’ll kill anyone who comes between us,” He had looked at Lacy then, she was laughing and smiling with my sister and I felt tears in my eyes. I lost my sense of security in that one trip. I lost my hope. Lacy held me when I cried for him. I had told my mother and showed her all the messages he’d sent, proving his cruelty. She went to the band director and superintendent. He was told to stay away from me, causing his demeanor to shift. He’d become sullen; secluding himself from others. He lied about us, and his hatred for me radiated from him like a harsh smell. He acted as if he wanted me to die instead of
My parents have always supported me in everything I have done. They have given up so much of their time to come and support me in every aspect of my life. They never missed a race, volleyball, basketball, or tennis game. I could always count on both my mom and dad to be in the stands cheering me on. There was no better feeling in the world than knowing that they were going to be there no matter how far away, or what the weather was going to be like. My favorite memory of my parents’ dedication to watching me was when I played at the state tennis meet in College Station, Texas. My partner and I were supposed to start our first match at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, but there was a rain delay that lasted fourteen hours. We did not start playing until two o’clock in the morning, and they were there for it all. My dad even stayed knowing he had to be in Arlington, Texas at six o’clock the same morning for an important meeting with his boss.
A personal change I would like to make is my approach and the response I display to my teammates and the organization. I am a very independent person at work, I tend to be a controlling person in every aspect. However, I am trying to overcome this debilitating trait by learning new techniques and reflecting on the other person’s ideas, comments, efforts and suggestions without taking control. I do complete my task with little or no assistance, but it causes me to be detached, indifferent, and uninvolved from my teammates causing conflicting issues. I do sense a distance between myself and my teammates, but I continue to work hard and remain focus.

many people personally told me that people change for the better or the worse during high school, but i never believed it was true. looking back on my high school years i noticed that what they said was actually accurate. it all seemed strange to me at first because i 'm not the type of person who lies and manipulates others to become someone 's friend. but within those four years i became aware of how quickly people can switch up and change. like how the person i thought i knew acting completely different. but many others were, so i realized that my biggest mistake in high school was letting friendship change my actions and get to me.
Our parents work hard to get us where we are today. Due to the fact that my parents had lack of education and there English wasn 't that good they wasn’t able to get a job that was more relaxing. Though they work in company only they were able to earn enough to raise all of us. Through nurture, now that I’m older I don’t exactly see all the struggles that my parent had gone through to raise me, but I do see and understand more about the struggles. Their love for us, nothing can compare to it. Seeing what my parents had gone through and how hard they have work inspired me to work hard, go to school get a good job so in the future they can depend on me and just rest.
I am always getting to class on time and quite in the class. I do not use phone in class neither talk with friends while the teacher is teaching. I always take a long time to do activities and get hard time to make a decision.
When I try and think of a specific time or life event that made an impact on my life I think of the day I had each of my children. For any mother this is a similar day she will look back on as an event that changed her life. My youngest son Oliver has a lot of complex medical issues, and has given me quite a few life changing events in his short 18 months. Oliver was born on January 15, 2015 on a military base in Laundstul, Germany. We named him Oliver because it means unique and dignified. We chose the name after we discovered he had a cleft Lip. He defiantly fits that description. Oliver has been in and out of the hospital since he was born, from the time he was born he had difficulty absorbing his food. He would eat and eat, but not gain
Our personalities are what distinguish us from each other beyond our appearance; without them, we would all behave and react in the same way. Personality is the reason we are outgoing or introverted, persistent or blaze, and anxious or calm. We each have different levels of these competing characteristics that make us unique. But why are personalities so varied? Personality is determined by an array of factors from genetic and biological to the personal experiences and decisions we have faced from the day we are born. The complexity of our personalities cannot be simply explained, and for this reason there exists many different theories of how it’s developed and personality is still deeply under study. I went into this subject with an open-mind
Personality traits can be manifested as strengths or weaknesses depending on the situation, and personality tests can help individuals maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses within the organizational structure. Organizational behavior is critical to organizational effectiveness, and these tests can also point individuals toward certain careers or organizations that are good fits. Pearson Education’s MyManagementLab (2016) contains a series of personality tests and the following discussion analyzes the results of these tests as they apply to my personality and my career. The writing contains illustrations of my personality traits in action. The text also highlights areas of improvement that will enable me to be a better employee, co-worker,
There has been a lot of debate over whether or not personality can change over time. Sigmund Freud and Erik Erikson are two philosophers who debate the subject on opposite sides. I will discuss their views on the matter and state my opinion about which philosopher I agree with. But to even begin to dive into the subject, we must know what the subject is. Personality and it’s components are going to be discussed in this paper, so we must understand what personality is. Although there are many theories about personality, they all seem to center around the same thing, genetics and life experience.
In the sixteen personalities test that I took online, it was revealed that my personality is “The Advocate”. According to the website, my personality makes up less than one percent of the population; however, Advocates still leave a mark on the world.
“The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation through choice of action.” (John Dewey) This quote implies that one is not born with a complete personality. Individuality is continuously developing and shaping itself through actions we take and decisions we make everyday. The variability of personality makes the subject difficult to pinpoint and define, being that there are many different theories that describe personality. The main concepts behind personality, including plasticity, development, and factors that may influence an individual’s personality, will come into focus throughout the contents of this essay.
Introduction to Personality Lillian Tracey Hayes PSY/405 April 26, 2014 Les Binnix. Introduction to Personality The concept of personality is not easy to define. Researchers give examples or perceptions to define the personality; however, there are different theories that explain personality. The school is great, the people are fantastic and the atmosphere is one that makes you actually want to go to school. Before I joined ASB I was studying at the Singapore American School for two years and prior to that I was at the International School of Kuala Lumpur for two years. I was born and raised here in Bombay city and grew up here.
