Personal Statement Twenty years ago, I was delivered by my grandpa in the small Fillmore County Hospital. My parents agreed on the name Brittney Lynn Reinsch, naming me after my grandpa. As you can tell, my family is very close knit. My grandpa has been my doctor since before I was born, everyone lives no more than three hours away from each other, holidays consist of two days of family, and everyone hugs before leaving. I am a very lucky girl as I get to have three families. One coming from each my mom, my dad, and my stepdad. Living with my mom, I grew up in Sutton, Nebraska, a town of 1,500. My mom and stepdad were both teachers in Sutton and knew everything from parent’s gossip throughout the town and the students whispering in class.
My manager, Adam, is the ag lender, as well as my career role model. He checks in with how the boring tasks of filing and scanning loan documents is going, but is actually trying to find out how his employees are doing in general. Adam will always find a way to put a motivational quote in anything he says. Whenever I go into his office for a signature, he will lighten the mood with his famous saying, “You can’t forge this signature… Whapow! Cachow!” as he signs his truly unforgeable John Hancock. When Adam comes up to the counter to sneak some candy, and of course when no customers are in the bank, he’ll do a sneaky walk to the candy dish (especially because he is on a ‘diet’), reminding everyone to keep the mood light.
With my parents both being teachers, I never really knew anything about the business world and thought it was always so serious. Adam has done an excellent job teaching me that most every mistake in banking can be fixed and never leaves for the day without saying, “Great work today, troops!”
In the future, I wish to hold a position similar to Adam’s. If I exemplify the positive attitude that he does, the employees of the bank will find work enjoyable, just as I do now with Adam as my
