I was brought up in a small town called Thomasville; one of the most charming southern towns I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Tradition is of the essence and service to the community is what the residents value most. Through my hometown, I’ve learned a sense of commitment and the importance of involvement. Thomasville has embedded in me tradition from the many practices that take place on the brick streets, such as Victorian Christmas, First Friday, and Rose Festivals. I also have Thomasville to thank for my ability to see diversity. Though there are mostly plantations in my sweet little town, a lot of folks retire there, too. There are not two people alike in Thomasville and that makes for deep conversations over local coffee. …show more content…
3 work diligently to achieve the goal. Pa taught me to run on love and to run on life and Ma taught me to raise my hands and to always be myself, for that never changes. Through my parents, I was given roots and wings.
My siblings have influenced my culture in more ways than would be expected. I am one of six and each of us has chosen extremely different paths in life. My oldest sister, Katie, is a drug addict. She has been addicted to Meth for the past eleven years of her life. She has turned her back on her family and her children, who were adopted by my parents when they were only a few weeks old. My sister, Kellie, travels around the world modeling. She started her career when she was a teen and it has since taken her to some of the most beautiful places on earth. My brother, Justin, is openly gay living in California. He followed his heart out of Georgia and has made a happier life in L.A. I am paying my way towards a Doctorate in education while working a full time job. My little sister, Khia, just turned eleven and she is in accelerated classes at our local middle school. Lastly, my little brother, Tony, just turned ten, and he has a passion for all things boy – sports, hunting, and fishing. My siblings have opened my eyes to what many people are blind to – addiction, LGBT, and adoption. Because of them, I see the world more broadly with more of an open

I have a broader understanding of topics such as financial struggle, addiction, LGBTQIA, adoption, strict discipline, and small town values. I hope to be an approachable teacher who my students trust, because without trust, education is not possible. Because of the experience I have had with my siblings, I will create a safe and welcoming classroom where my students feel comfortable in expressing themselves without fear of judgment and criticisms. Because of the way I was raised by my mother and father, I will have class rules that all students will adhere to ensuring their safety and education. The tenderness my mother instilled in me will reflect in my role as a teacher, with a hint of my father’s sergeant discipline. I will be tender yet strict. I will expect the rules to be followed and effort to be shown. I will be understanding, yet expecting. I will be faithful in my role as a teacher and remain fast on the tract to changing lives through
Each year, as a new group of students enter my classroom, I will encourage them to be expressive of their imaginations in their favorite subjects, whether it be art, literature, math or music. We all have rules and regulations to follow, and each student will know that there is no exception in the school or the classroom. Another goal in my classroom will be to keep the students excited about learning, not to treat school as a game or a social event, but to encourage a unique and fun atmosphere to learn. My educational ethics toward each student will be to emphasise that everyone is an individual, they are all special and unique in their own way, and that every student does not learn on the same level. I hope my students will treat each other the way they want to be treated, and respect those that may be less fortunate.
On February 21, 2016, I, Deputy John Arnold, went to 11747 West 105th Street South to assist another deputy in reference to a fight in progress.
Well, who really am I? Am I rude, strict or obnoxious? Or am I loving and caring? Think and know me better.
My goal as a teacher is to provide children with a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning, and feel free to express their feelings. My personal philosophy is to respect all children and their families’ cultures, ethnicities, race, and beliefs. I treat each child fairly to ensure that all children feel equally special, have families, communities, and educators work as one.
I would have to say that they were a major aspect into shaping me into the person I am today. I learned how to be the leader of a pack, how to influence those below me. I had the ability to have others mimic my actions, which lead me to wanting to become a leader. Using the power of my voice and firm stability, I guided my siblings into a better path. I gained confidence and positive recognition for being able to influence their decisions in succeeding at life. If it was not my for siblings, I do not think my confidence would be as high as it is today. They are a pure reflection of me and they show me my positive and negative attributes.I have become like a chameleon, changing myself to fit into my everyday environment. As I sprouted into becoming the leader I dreamed to be, I knew that it would not have been possible without the impact of my
First time out of the wire and on patrol but not with first platoon, First Sergeant moved me to second platoon just the day before. The night insertion that we conducted that night went without a hitch. The soldiers that were in my truck took turns throughout the night behind the weapons system which was an M-240B. At zero eight in the morning of the next day patrols started around the bazaar by the dismounted troops. I was coupled with the PL* and conducted familiarization patrols so that I could get eyes on the sector from the map that was issued to me the night we left. Starting off at the far limits of the sector we went to position E (east) and was instructed on what the sectors were as was the activities that had been conducted the previous
One life-changing event that has impacted my life was the decision to join my high school lacrosse team going into my freshman year. I didn't know too many people going into my first year of high school besides my close childhood friends. I had been playing soccer for most of my life and had been attending the high school soccer camp to prepare for tryouts. My friend called me a week before school started and asked me if I wanted to join him in at one of his practices. That call changed my life forever.
This was one of the first indicators that I have a niche for caring for others. Being an older sister to three younger siblings has taught me patience, responsibility, and leadership; and most of all, has instilled in me a strong
I am so grateful for everyone in my life and the influence they have, each of them have shaped me into the person I am today. The people with the biggest impact on me have been my two younger sisters, my parents, and my grandmother. Siblings, both a blessing and a curse. My two younger sisters, Berkley and Presley, have truly shaped me into the person I am today. Sibling rivalry is obviously a big issue in a house of three girls, as each of us are trying to find who we are, own talents, activities, and interests.
Growing up I was always surrounded by my siblings. I was the youngest and not only did they all help to take care of me, but they really helped raise me. It’s not that my
Everything for a year had been leading up to this point and here I was in the middle of the happiest place on earth in tears because my friends had abandoned me in the middle of Disney on the senior trip.
There were many instances in my life that have shaped my values, intellect, and academic or career goals. I was raised by my parents to become a hard worker, independent, and caring young adult. I was taught how to be all these qualities by a combination of experiencing and witnessing them first hand.
I am sentimental, out-going, indecisive, understanding, curious, naive, lazy, and young. I want to be ... , well a lot of things, and growing is discovering what they are. I feel people cannot see the potential within, although there is no one to blame but myself. I look to others for approval instead of to myself. I aim to please; it leads to approval. I don’t like to discuss my faults; I pity myself.
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
Like many people, my personal experiences have shaped who I am. As a future educator, I want my students to respect me as a teacher, but understand that I will be there for every one of them, whenever they need me. I will not judge them; I will only encourage them to do their best. I will show them that learning can be fun and that school is more than just memorizing facts, it’s about opening your mind to new ideas and experiencing things that will change your
