National Honor Society
I am honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered to be accepted to National Honor Society. I learned while researching National Honor Society that it calls upon students with outstanding academics and character. Throughout my life I believe I have demonstrated these qualities along with leadership from my participation in school, teams, and clubs.
School allows many opportunities to grow as a person, and show your personality. Within class I am always an active participant, I always add my input in discussion, and work to answers questions. I have always maintained good grades I was placed in advanced courses beginning in fourth grade and within all 3 years of highschool I have earned a weighted

GPA of a 4.0 or above. In group projects I always try to work efficiently. Recently in my Spanish class we were given a group project where we had to make a presentation of a made up story while including audio and images. Me and my partner had finished our whole assignment when I accidentally saved a blank document over it. We were unable to get the presentation back. I spoke with my teacher and he sympathized with our situation but we still needed to redo the project. Our biggest problem was we couldn't access our project at home and my partner was unable to make it to school early in the morning. I then discovered my partner could type up our story and email it to me. I also found a way to record her voice and sync it to the computer. This allowed me to quickly finish the rest of the project and present with the rest of the class. Our project ended up better than the first time and since I was able to problem solve we didn't get any points taken off for being late. We were both so frustrated at first when we realized what had happened yet through determination and hard work we were able to finish our project in good spirit.
Since I've been involved in sports, beginning at the age of five, they have allowed me to make friends and have opened up many different opportunities. Overtime I have gained many memories. This summer I was playing for a club basketball team and we had a tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. Our first game of the tournament only five players showed up, this left us very doubtful and defeated. Our opponent gained an early lead, but I didn't want to give up that easy. The next time they came down the court I talked loud, I worked hard and I forced a turnover. I spoke to my teammates and got them excited, we all worked harder. Momentum built and we gained a lead. The other girls began to show up from our team. We ended up winning the game by wide margins. This proved mine and my teams adversity and work ethic. My involvement in sports proves my work ethic, positive attitude, and dependability. My high school coach sets a time for practice I'm at least 15 minutes early, the team is down you have to be the difference maker, and if you aren't working hard you will be after your told to get on the line and keep running till he says stop. Being involved in this program proves my ability to be a positive addition with NHS.
My association in Student Council since 6th grade has allowed me to be apart of many school and community activities that have helped me become a better, more involved person.

I can recall last year our president came up with a No Shave November fundraiser which involved a “who can grow the longest beard?” type of contest. We all had to sign up for committees that were a part of the set up. I co chaired an advertisement committee where we set up posters and got the word out about this new event so students would get involved. When it came down to sign ups, there was a low attendance. I overheard a group of guys arguing with each other about the contest and who would win, seeing that the competition part really excited them I challenged them to all join for the fun of it and a possible prize if they did win. All of them signed up that day and even though the event didn't end up being successful it was fun to see them involved and questioning me everyday about who was winning.
To enjoy life and to create and experience new opportunities I believe you have to be an involved and concerned person. I would love the opportunity to join National Honor Society and prove in person my abilities. I am dedicated to being successful, and I believe being apart of NHS would further my accomplishment. Inevitably, my ability as a leader would be beneficial to
