In front of me on the stove sat a small round skillet. Inside were two eggs and a splash of liquid egg whites, bubbling, popping, and sizzling as they began to fry into my delicious breakfast. Eggs; the food that sparked my interest and ultimately led me to where I am today. Ever since I started eating them for breakfast, instead of the cereal that claimed to be good for you, I created a goal for myself. That goal was to become the healthiest person I could be through exercise fueled from nutritious foods. By making this one decision, I can say that it has made a huge impact on my life and has become a significant part of my identity. I wanted to do this, not because I was overweight or felt insecure about my body, but because I saw it as a challenge. Being the person that I am, I had to succeed in this and really push myself to become better. I started to improve my eating habits by focusing on the nutrients I was putting into my body. Splurging on junk food was not an option because I knew how bad it made me feel afterwards and that it would only delay my progress. Refusing the sweet treats was certainly difficult, especially when the aroma of them baking in the oven filled my house. The other important aspect of my journey to becoming the healthiest person I could be was the exercise. Fitness had been a focus of mine since I was very young and I could never imagine living without it. I am always a little nervous and hesitant when I begin writing an essay. Ever since I was little I was an honor roll student, passed all my tests, was placed in honors and AP classes, and eventually graduated a year early from high school. I used to be so confident when I would begin writing a paper, I could finish it within a couple minutes. During junior year of high school, I began taking duel credit classes. I was passing all the classes so far until I reached English 111. It was an 8-week course and I started to get overwhelmed. To be described as healthy, I not only have to be physically fit, but also mentally, socially, and financially fit. Being healthy has many benefits. Exercise allows a person to be a happier, calm, energized, and confident individual. The same can be said for exercising the brain, socializing, and keeping finances in order. By being healthy I will feel better every day and find fierce determination and discipline in the process.
In just a few seconds, his life went from bad to worse. While working one day, Mike Sprague fell of a thirty-five foot roof, breaking both feet. He was bedridden, unable to do any exercise of any sort. To add on to this, Mike was overweight and weight loss was necessary for his recovery. His inability to walk made losing weight even more difficult. To make matters worse, Mike was gaining weight in this state of sedentary hopelessness. Living healthy increases lifespan, releases endorphins, and reduces risks of certain diseases thus creating a more jovial, optimistic lifestyle. How does one live healthily? Writing this paper made me realize how much, exercise has become a part of me. I love the benefits that exercise has provided me with, aesthetically and mentally. It gives me such a great sense of accomplishment after every workout. I’ve been exercising for about twelve years, and I will continue for as long as I am alive.
The thing that inspires me to live a healthy life is how I am going to feel at the end of the day. I want to advance my fitness journey so that I am able to better myself from the person I was yesterday. In class it was discussed that the Bible, traditions, and current or personal experiences affect our religious beliefs and faith. It was mentioned that a belief is shown in practice and that faith is seeking understanding in order to help us better recognize what is possible and true to us personally. The notion of faith is a journey; it varies and changes throughout life and different cultures. It is for that reason that while the different communities give these legs different weights, from a personal perspective all three are important and carry the same amount of weight in my life. To have faith one must have had a personal experience where it made us feel different and closer to God. The Bible and the traditions we were born into have an effect over those experiences. The notion of personal experience, tradition, and understanding of the Bible plays a role in my personal religious experience.

Men wanted to uphold the prejudices held against women authors and attempted this by constructing history which denied women writers. Gender was, at one point, such a crucial part in writing that women published their novels under a pseudonym or even anonymously, in an attempt to receive an unbiased review. Supporting this notion, in Veils of Irony Anna Udden declares that in 18th Century literature “no critic ever dealt with a literary work without first having made the decision whether the writer was a man or a woman. Only then could he address its literary merit…” (52).
Exercise and eating healthy are two of the most important things you need to do to take care of your body properly. Both exercise, and eating healthy, have many advantages and benefits. They help with multiple things needed throughout your life. These things include growing physically, mentally, and if you are religious, spiritually as well. All of this adds up to your body functioning in the highest and best way possible.
