Perseus Greek Hero Essay

Hiss, hiss the sound surrounds you and scares you. You think to turn back but there is no escape to that sound. That one horrifying sound. Then something musters up inside you, a divine bravery that tells you to fight. This is the story of Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa and how he killed her to save his own life. Perseus is a true Greek Hero, he has all the qualities. First of all, he is of divine ancestry being that his father is Zeus, the king of the gods. Secondly, he proved himself as a hero by killing a monstrous being named Medusa and bringing her head back to be hailed as a hero. Finally, he married a princess and he is one of the few greek heroes to live happily ever after and not be killed in some odd way. Perseus is one of the most well known greek heros and is known all over the world. He has been popularized by many things including the Percy Jackson books and the movies based on that book. Many other things have risen the popularity of Perseus and have made him one of the icons for greek heros today.
