Elizabeth Banks movie, Pitch Perfect, comes across as basic with its catchy quotes and using similar performing art influences such as Bring It On. There are only two types of people in this world, those who can sing and those who can’t. In this case, everyone in this movie can belt out a note and pretty exceptional at it to note. Pitch Perfect was hilarious with its diverse cast and theatrical musical numbers. Although the plot seems to be an occurring trend amongst other performing art movies, this one outshines with comedic star Fat Amy. The main star, Anna Kendrick, plays as Beca, who dreams of becoming a DJ but has agreed to try school on her dad’s wishes. She enters college looking for her niche on campus life. During a college club fair, Beca stumbles upon a booth for acappella where she is introduced to two queen bees of the school named Aubrey and Anna. She and a group of other freshman are initiated into the group and discover the drama and hard work that comes new friends. Beca …show more content…
Fat Amy, played by comedian Rebel Wilson, shined on stage with her one-liners was fantastic. Wilson is a well-known comedic in the movie industry with several hit movies under her belt. This Aussie is especially known for her role in Bridesmaids. She hits the marks on comic relief; leaving the audience cackling. For a taste of comical reference Fat Amy says, “You are gonna get pitch-slapped so hard that your man boobs are gonna go concave.” Other cast mates include a quiet girl named Lily quietly whispered throughout the film absurd comments, like eating her twin in the womb. To diversify the mix a little more, lesbian acapella co-star named Cynthia-Rose exposed the audience to some gay moments that seemed a little awkward. Young kids can look up to humanize beauty standards with this movie compared to the perfect Barbie figures in other girl-empowering
The main protagonist of the film, Scotty Smalls, is introduced as a straight-A, friendless young boy who has just moved into a new neighborhood in new state. While

Along with Sammy, the other characters involved in this story are three girls shopping in the A & P in their bathing suits, whom Sammy names Plaid, Queenie and Big Tall Goony-Goony; Stokesie, Sammy's married co-worker; and Lengel, the A & P manager.
Anelle Dupuy, played by Daryl Hannah, is a young woman straight out of beauty school and trying to start over in a new town after her husband mysteriously disappears, along with most of her belongings. Last but not least, we have Ouiser Boudreaux, played by Shirley MacLaine. She is abrasive, eccentric, rude and “richer than God”. She also happens to be my favorite character in the movie. The chemistry between these great actresses is what makes this movie one of the best, if not the best I’ve ever seen.
The movie main character is Cady Heron who is a homeschooled girl. Her and her family lived in Africa for 15 years. They return back to the states and place Cady into a public school for the first time. Cady meets her classmates and finds a few good friends the introduce her to a group of girls called the Plastics. She ends up joining the plastics with the motive of bring them down because her new friend don’t like them very much and thought it would be funny. However, she eventually gets assimilated into the group of three unkind girls and starts to be just like them.
The first main character is Samantha Keyes, also known as Sammy. Sammy has a great personality. She's very spunky, creative and curious about everything. She will always try to invest into something and learn more about it. She lives with her grandma, because her mom went to hollywood to try to become successful as an actor. She has some really close friends, like Dot and Marissa, but a lot of people at school don’t get her and make fun of her. The next main character is Ritas Keyes or “Grams”, Sammy's grandmother. Sammy
It is no secret that there is an obvious difference of how women are portrayed in the media versus men. This movie discussed female characters never having lead roles and stated that when they did it ended in the women depending on, loving, or having to have a man. One young high school girl said, “Women never play the protagonist. The girls are

Girls Like Us is an intimate portrayal concerning four girls who grew up all with different ethnic backgrounds and various forms of parental guidence. Anna Chau is Vietnames with strict parents and good beliefs, Lisa Bronca is a Caucasion Catholic, De'Yonna Moore is African-American with strong goals who lives with her Grandma and Raelene Cox is a young white girl who comes from a broken home with little parental guidence. Girls Like Us shows examples of structural functionism, and conflict theory, as well as symbolic interactionalism. This movie really intersted me because I actually got to see each of these girls grow up. This film also contained implications for the science of sociology.
Off, and Pretty in Pink. This movie has a mix of genres any individual could possibly enjoy: drama, comedy, and even romance. The actors in the movie performed tremendously in their roles. The actors in the movie are known as “the brat pack”. The movie stars Emilio Estevez, known for popular movies like The Outsiders; Molly Ringwald, who starred in movies like Pretty in Pink and 16 Candles; Anthony Michael Hall, who was in the movie 16 Candles with Molly Ringwald; and Ally Sheedy and Judd Nelson, who both starred in St. Elmo’s Fire.
The next girl introduced into the story is Wain’s Wain. Enn encounters her in the conservatory although he is awkward and shy, “me sitting at the table wrapped in awareness and shyness” (Gaiman 231) he ask her what her name was. “Wain’s Wain, she said, or something that sounded like it.” (Gaiman 231).
The Netflix movie, #realityhigh, released in 2017, is a movie about a young girl named Dani Barnes who finds herself changing both consciously and unconsciously to fit in with her new boyfriend’s popular crowd. Dani Barnes, a self-proclaimed nerd, has always been an outcast. Alexa Medina, an internet star, has always been a “mean girl” who strives off ruining the lives of other students that she believes to be socially inferior to her. Dani, who starts to date her dream man, Cameron Drake, also the ex-boyfriend of Alexa, she is forced to adapt to her new friends, which includes the conniving Alexa. This is a new world of popularity for Dani; she must modify her personality and daily activities to upkeep with her new friends and new boyfriend. The many teenagers, in the movie, who long for popularity do not realize that peer pressure and the need to appeal to an often shifting and arbitrary ideal of a "cool" kid makes their lives more difficult than those who envy them.
The movie follows the lives of three students as they go through their first year at Columbus University. These students are faced with issues of race, sexual
Mean Girls (2004) is a movie that captures the challenging obstacles, excitements, and the letdowns that the adolescents face during high school. Although the movie is greatly exaggerated and does not hold to the true essence of reality, the film portrays the struggles an individual faces during adolescence. The protagonist of the film, Cady Heron, moves into the suburbs after being raised in Africa by her two scientist parents. As Cady is now enrolled into an American high school, she struggles to find her sense of self-identity as she encounters multiple groups of friends and she tries to fit-in by trying to find the status quo of the “American-high-school-way.” The film also emphasizes the development
The movie that I chose to do my analysis on, is Mean Girls because it is my all-time favorite movie. I watched it a million times, it never gets old and plus I know every single line in the movie. The main character Cady, played by Lindsay Lohan, exhibits how to go from being a nerd, popular, hated and rehabilitated all in one school year. It’s hilarious movie about high school but, it also covers many interpersonal concepts that we learned in class like: verbal communication, conflict and relationship dynamics. Before I provide my analysis, I’ll present my brief summary on the movie Mean Girls.
