Percy is given a quest from Chiron.Chiron tells Percy to go to the attic and find the oracle.Percy does what he is told and the prophecy tells him ‘You shall go west,and face the god who has turned.You shall find what was stolen,and see it safely returned.You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend.And you shall fail to save what matters most,in the end.Percy sees the prophecy is a message inside a mummy.This is how the quest began. While Percy,Annabeth,and Grover are returning from the Underworld,the first part of the prophecy comes true.Percy,Annabeth,and Grover are battling Ares the god of war.The police arrive at the scene just when things are getting interesting.On page 321 it stated “Hey,kid”Ares said,seeming genuinely pleased to see me.”You were supposed to die.””You tricked me,””You stole the helm and the master bolt.”This shows that Ares was the one who turned instead of Hades like Chiron earlier stated. While Grover and Annabeth return back to camp,Percy goes to see Zeus,and return to him the master bolt.While Percy is traveling first by taxi then by plane,the second part of the prophecy comes true.Percy returns the helm of terror to the furies to give to Hades.Percy gives the master bolt to Zeus

The Gods no longer have to battle for the disappearance of the lightning bolt, which would ultimately wreak havoc on the mortal world, destroying it in the process. Now that the hindrances have seized, Percy is free to return to Camp Halfblood. Once he enters, he crosses the Return Threshold, since he returns to his home. The last scene of the movie shows Percy and Annabeth partaking in a friendly duel, without any sign of worries.
