William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, examines the dominance of female figure and emotion which can lead to committing motives less than an honourable. The woman in the play leads Macbeth into committing all the immoral acts leading to many deaths. The witches plant the seed of deception and manipulate Macbeth undertaking all the malicious deeds. Macbeth ambition to become king is driven by Lady Macbeth who persuades him to murder King Duncan by attacking his manhood. His fear of losing his position as king, impulses him to destroy any obstacles in his way including his best friend.
The witches in the Macbeth planted the seed of evil that dominated his mind. The witches apparitions and prophecies convinced Macbeth that he was invincible. However, it was ultimately Macbeth who made the choices to murder Duncan and many others. Macbeth began to lose his sanity and the witches was able to effortlessly control his mind. Macbeth is constantly filled with fear of losing his status as King. The result of this fear causes Macbeth to murder many individuals including his closest friend Banquo. The witches’ prophesised that Banquo, “Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none.” Macbeth becomes anxious of this prediction and so hires three murderers to kill Banquo along with his son. He turns those whom he may see as a threat to his crown, an enemy of his. Macbeth feared that others would find out what he had done to King Duncan which led to him killing Macduff’s family. As told by the witches’, Macbeth had to be aware of Macduff, however, Macduff had fled to England, Macbeth attacked his family instead.
