Penguins – Birds that Cannot Fly
Penguins are one of my favorite species of birds. They look like a bunch of men in tuxedos at the beach. Although they are considered birds, none of them are capable of flying. They live in climates and locations that range from the warm Equator to the freezing Antarctic. Penguins are so cool that they have become the stars of many television commercials. Of the seventeen species, it is the Emperor penguin that is the most interesting penguin. After all, how many fathers can go without food for two months, so that they can protect their off-spring twenty four hours a day?
All penguins are found in the Southern Hemisphere and are flightless seabirds. While many people associate penguins with the cold Antarctic, only two species breed in the Antarctic. The two species that breed in the Antarctic are the Adelie and the Emperor penguin. In fact, penguins live in a wide variety of climates and locations. Among the locations that the other fifteen species inhabit are the Galapagos Islands and the coasts of Australia, South America, New Zealand, and South Africa. Interestingly, the Emperor penguin is the world's only bird that never spends one second of its life on dry land.
Adult penguins range in height from approximately 16 to 48 inches, depending on the species. The Emperor penguin is the tallest of all species. Emperor penguins are also the heaviest, weighing up to 100 pounds. Most penguins can be recognized by their white breasts, black backs, and black heads, resembling a small man in a tuxedo. Some penguins have other distinguishing features such as orange, red, or yellow areas on their heads or necks.

...le find penguins interesting, beer companies and other advertisors have chosen to frequently use them in television commercials. There is even a hockey team named after them. Of all the seventeen species, however, it is the amazing nesting habits and parental dedication that makes the Emperor penguin the most interesting of all penguins.

Prostitution has been as issue in many societies around the world for almost all of recorded history. There has been evidence of brothels and prostitution dating far back into human history. Many different societies have different views, ideals, and reservation about the matter. Some cultures around the world view it as a necessary evil for people who need to support themselves and their families. Others view it as morally evil and socially destructive; helping to rot our society from the inside out. Even still there are cultures who don’t view it as evil at all and even a normal part of life. A person’s view on the act is formed largely based on the culture they are living in. Even sub cultures inside of larger one can have different view on the matter, such as religious groups that denounce it, to some groups in the same culture that say it is okay. Even the gauge of how industrialized a country can determine how that culture views prostitution, with many third world countries being more lenient on the matter, and many first world countries being much more strict on the matter, such as the some of the countries in Europe and also the United States.

After all sex, itself has such a different aspect on everyone’s life; but for a prostitute it might just be a lack of education or lack of money. We all must service in the world even if your job is illegal in most countries, you still must find a way to survive. A prostitute still makes a living through their exchange. And the men or women interacting or paying for the service should be held to the same guild or conscious as the prostitute because they are equally
Known as the world's oldest profession, prostitution is still one of the most controversial issues in our modern day society. We are able to trace the career all the way back to the ancient Sumerians, one of the earliest civilizations, that is dated as far back as 5500 BC. Prostitution has been present in nearly all cultures and eras and, in a large portion of them, it was not a profession that was controversial or disrespected for either gender. In today's day and age however, it is rarely considered a proper occupation. Lena Edlund discusses this idea with a more business-oriented approach of prostitution in the Journal of Political Economy when she stated, “Prostitution has an unusual feature: it is well paid despite being low-skill, labor intensive and, one might add, female dominated. Earnings even in the worst paid type, street-walking, may be several multiples of full time earnings in professions with comparable skill requirements.” (Edlund, "A Theory of Prostitution") If everyone were to address the idea of prostitution in the same way that Edlund did, perhaps more people would begin to view it as an occupation rather than a disgrace. So why is it that today prostitution is criminalized, those who take part in sex work are extremely ostracized, and the rights and safety of those working in the business are not better addressed or carried out?

Darwin was particularly intrigued by the finches on the islands of Galapagos which are located approximately 500 miles from the mainland of South America. These finches, although unique to these islands, were clearly related to mainland species. There were 14 different species or genera of Galapagos Finch and their bills were adapted for particular diets. Darwin amassed these and other data including observations on variability in domestic animals (for example, dogs) which had been brought about by generations of selective breeding.

Known to the world as a disgraceful, distasteful, and an immoral act of self pleasure, [prostitution] is recognized as a profession. Prostitution is also known to some people as freedom of choice and expression and those who choose that way of life and not allowing the influences of the normal sector to put a damper on their personal decisions (Spector, 2006). It has been around since the beginning of civilization. Not only is prostitution, itself is a controversial issue but defining it appears to have severa interpretations, both legally and socially. Despite the array of meanings, they all move toward defining the gender, personal gain, and the actions of the worker (Flowers, 1998). Because the definition only was pertaing to a certain gender, the term sex worker came into play to define all sexes and not excluding anyone who is associated with the sex world. There is not a specific gender in naming who is a prostitute. Prositutes can be children, women, as well as men. Sex workers come from all walks of life, from the child who was kidnapped and kept as a sex slave to the woman who need a fix, to the man who has experienced a fast way to obtain money. The environment in which prostitutes work are in all areas, the streets, bars, cars, dance clubs, hotel rooms, and private homes (Ditmore, Levy, & Willman, 2010). Sometimes depending on the home environment, the decision to become a prostitute is not a hard one, when there are many negative obstacles and variables that enhance the decision to enter the life of a prostitute (Barry, 1995). There are many
