Performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), are they a problem? Almost every single sport in the world have bans on PEDs and even some prescribed medicine, that boosts performance, to keep their sport as “legitimate” and “clean” as possible. However, in every single sport there’s people willing to take the extra step to win and use PEDs. It’s the desire to win and to be the best that makes them take the extra step. When there’s always people willing to do drug to increase performance. Then we shouldn’t try to prevent it, we should allow it. That’ll make it a fairer fight, because everyone can use the drugs, without worrying about being caught. James Kirkup writes in his article on The Telegraph that he thinks it’ll make PEDs safer, because the substances can be produced legally and under proper regulation and supervision. This can only be a good thing.

The one reason I’m convinced of this, is because of money. There is too much money to be made in preventing doping in sports. If the proposal ever gains traction and gets a lot of pressure from the public, we’ll quickly be able to hear about all the problems and dangers of legalizing PEDs. This problem is not only occurring in sports. It’s even more dominant in the gun industry and the tobacco industry. Even though there’s been countless school shootings because of children being able to get a hold of a gun too easily. The gun industry then did everything in their power to bribe and lobby against any proposal that could impose a risk on the industry. In the same way the gun industry does it, I fear that is what is going to happen if legalizing PEDs in sports becomes a hot
