The opportunity to be around children everyday looking after their health care needs drives my passion for PEDIATRICS. A child’s smile accompanied by the parent’s smile is the best reward for me. I always find myself gravitating towards the infants, the kids, and the teenage patients. My interest in
Pediatrics got solidified doing my clinical rotations. During initial days of my rotation, I was little emotional looking at the suffering of the kids. As days gone by, the satisfaction I found seeing patients who are cured and their parents happy is priceless. I really felt like I am in the right place and want to continue as a pediatrician for the rest of my life.

This experience allowed me to provide medical attention, nourishment and compassionate care to patients of different ages. Working with diverse array of patients from different backgrounds helped me to take my communication skills and understanding abilities to a new level. I would like to continue providing community service along with being a primary care physician.

Working as an Internee in my home country I learned about the mechanisms, pathogenesis and differential diagnosis of various acute infectious diseases to chronic degenerative diseases. It also taught me how to handle stress as we used to have a very busy schedule. The doctors I worked with, from the residents to the attending physicians, encouraged me to learn from them and yet, at the same time, to freely voice my own opinions. I was able to use these experiences while doing externships in the US. The clinical experience in the US helped me to hone my skills in obtaining medical history and conduct physical examinations.
