Pearl Jam, Everclear, and No Doubt
Almost everyone has a favorite band. People buy CD's and tapes to not only listen to the music that they like, but to support that band. There are many, many different types of music, and usually a certain band will fit into a specific type of music. I listen mostly to alternative/grunge music. And by coincidence the three bands I'm going to talk about are all from the west coast.
I am going to talk a little bit about three of my favorite bands in that category: Pearl Jam, Everclear, and No Doubt.
Pearl Jam is a band from Seattle. They were one of the first alternative bands to ever become popular from this area. The lead singer of Pearl Jam is

Well, I’ll be playing with Corey Wagar tonight at The Stone Pony for starters. Its gonna be a “Nashville meets New Jersey” sort of showcase band consisting of all top guys that play with all the national country acts like Taylor Swift, Sara Evans, Josh Turner and many others. This is probably gonna be their first introduction to the Jersey Shore and The Stone Pony so we hope everyone gives them a very warm welcome and makes them feel right at home. We are really excited to be able to make this happen in front of a hometown crowd.
Prior to the concert I had been somewhat familiar with all three bands' music. I

By going to as many concerts as they can, fans help the band sell more and you help themselves look and feel like a bigger fan. I personally went to all of their bay area concerts and had to drive down to Pasadena, CA for one when they didn 't have a show here. This made me feel and seem very devoted to the band . Socializing is another big thing in the community of directioners, it helps you meet more people in the same community and creates friendships. For example, just last week I visited a friend in Stanford University who I met through One Direction and I 've made many other online friends that i have more in common with than people around me. Many fans devote their time to fan accounts that they have created to be able to connect with fans and talk about their problems and also talk about the bands
Lynyrd Skynyrd grew out of the heat of their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Which was a source point of Southern rock.Deep in the heart of the South and full of blue-collar Americans. That blue collar-ness was what Skynyrd was famous for. Bar fights and being bull-headed set them apart from other musicians. Skynyrd took their blue collar lifestyle to the stage as they wore cowboy hats and denim jeans (Swenson). As one of the most charismatic figures in rock history, Ronnie Van Zant led Lynyrd Skynyrd to fame with his strong southern spirit and exciting voice. Funny though, Van Zant did not wear shoes on stage (Swenson). Naming the band after their gym coach in high school as a joke whe...
Their work encompasses many genres into one. The band’s musical influences are comprised of jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, folk, and country. Also, the band began to gain popularity during the movement of psychedelia. Psychedelic elements can be heard in almost all of their albums.

One of the powerful San Francisco events that merged history with the summer of love and the San Francisco culture was the Monterey Pop Festival. Some of San Francisco’s preeminent and famous artists such as Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix made an appearance during this event, which ultimately, spread their fame worldwide.
People are surrounded by music every day of their lives. They hear it in their homes, on the radio on their way to work; some people have even caught themselves humming the tune of their favorite song to themselves. But how many people actually listen and not just hear the music they are listening to? Teens in particular don’t realize the message behind the music they are quoting the lyrics to, or the effect it has on them.
Soon after recording and producing their own album, “String Fingers” became “The String Fingers Band”, with the addition of Ryan McAdams (stand-up bass), David Kaye (banjo, dobro, steel pedal) and Rob Bonnacorso (drums and percussion). “If the other three were here with us right now they would tell you that this is the finest group of musicians that any of us have had a chance to play with. For some reason it just all falls into place, and tells us we should keep at this thing,” said Carlucci. The three new members all bring something interesting to the table; Rob is the Rock and Roller, Ryan brings in the jazz aspect and David who brings the newest sound to this melting pot of music, supplies the steel country guitar.

Music comes in many forms. Whether if it is rock, pop, instrumental, indie, country, jazz, or another genre, everyone has a favorite. Music can be used to express oneself and bring enjoyment to life. Music can be live or recorded. Live and recorded music have many differences and similarities that can be noticed and loved depending on the listener. Live music can be expensive, but the experience is full of entertainment and emotion. Recorded music can be cheap, but vocals and sounds are edited in a studio. Despite these and many more differences, both types of music have similarities. Recorded and live music both bring enjoyment to listeners, connections among similar tastes, and can be found at parties, sporting events, and special occasions. Recorded and live music are unique in their own ways, but also similar in the way that they make a person feel.
