“ Yesterday, December 7,1941- a date which will live in infamy- the United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked by Naval and Air Forces of the Empire of Japan.” - President Franklin D. Roosevelt. On December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor got attacked, why did they get attacked, who led the attacks, and how did the United States respond. Japan made a bad decision attacking the U.S. because the united States is going to come back and hurt them worse then they hurt us.
There are multiple reasons why Japan attacked the U.S. but here are a few of them. One reason is that Japan was trying to get more land in Asia to expand the Empire but the U.S. kept on Interfering with there plan so they couldn’t a bigger threat than they already are to the U.S..

Another reason is that the U.S. stopped trading with Japan so they couldn’t get the things they needed to take more land in Asia. One thing that we stopped giving them that they needed was fuel they need fuel for about everything like there cars, planes, tanks and more stuff. One more reason that they attacked the U.S. is that they thought that an attack on America would neutralize American Forces and stop them from hurting Japan.
The leaders of Japan and the U.S. at the time of war were very smart and brave to attack. The major leader for the U.S. at the time was President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He had to make tough decisions like if we should declare war on Japan. One important leader for Japan at the time was Admiral Isoroka Yamamoto he was in charge of making all of the plans to bomb Pearl Harbor. Two other important leaders were Commander Minoru Genda and The Japanese Emperor Hirohito. The Emperor Hirohito was the person who declared war on the United States.
