Nursing is a profession of providing care to people who are sick and fighting against diseases to prevent or to cure it. Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. Professional nursing requires the nurse to interact with team member and interdisciplinary care team members to enhance the well-being of the client.
Nursing is a continuous changing process. Change is the only constant in nursing process. Florence Nightingale was the founder of nursing and created the model on nursing practice. Her theory became the first foundation and cornerstone in nursing. Her main goal was on changing the environment to facilitate care, nourishment and recovery. I love to be around people and to take care of them in their needy moment when they are sick. And I think nursing is the profession where I can take care of the people and fulfill my dream to be a care taker, be an advocate and promoter of their health. Nursing profession is a passion for me. In nursing school, I have received more than just an education in nursing. I have received hope to be a good nurse from the clients I took care of in my clinical. After taking care of patients in clinical, my passion for nursing profession becomes more stronger and changed because when I take care of my patients and they show appreciation, I feel amazing satisfaction and happiness which inspire me to do hard work for them to improve and promote their health.
