F. Scott Fitzgerald presents many themes in this novel, the great gatsby. One of the themes is wealth. This theme is developed throughout the book by his use of the motif of parties. In this book parties are throughout the whole book just on different levels. One of the first parties im gonna bring up is in the beginning at Toms house. It was a very formal scenery, and everyone acts very “proper”. Nothing crazy happens or anything unusual it was just very blan. This is in showing of how the “Old wealth” does parties. The next example i will go into is with Tom’s mistress Myrtle. First off it’s a lot more crazy, we have people getting drunk and taking drugs. I personally feel this is how people that are poor but want to experience the feeling
