Part III: Parenting and Attachment
The two biological parents in this movie have very different parenting styles. The mother is away present in her kids’ lives and takes on a disciplinary, as well as, supportive role. She is there to make sure that everything required is taken care of and that the kids are safe and responsible. She expects a lot out of her children, but is also reasonable about what they can achieve. Olivia makes sure that they always have nutritious food, attend school and complete assignments, and are safe even when situations are tough. She also makes sure that she is present in their lives and is supportive, but is firm in her rules and requirements.

This film is important from a developmental standpoint because it highlights key theories and observations about the growth and maturation from early childhood through late adolescence. The extraordinary changes that occur through this period of life play an essential role in determining who that child will become. This movie clearly demonstrates many of the ideas discussed in our course because it realistically outlines the life changes that occur as a child grows up
